Hotel ligt vlak bij de Dom en het centraal station in een rustige straat en beschikt over een eigen parkeergarage (tegen betaling) die wel vrij nauwe ingang en nauwe parkeerplekken heeft. We arriveerden tegen het middaguur; onze business comfort met 2 separate bedden kamer was reeds gereed. Inchecken verloopt snel en effectief in de kleine receptie. De kamer beschikt over een badkamer met baddouche en toilet. Er is een raam dat open kan. Ondanks dat de kamer aan de straatzijde op 1e etage ligt is deze rustig. Er is koffie thee op de kamer beschikbaar. Vlak naast de receptie ligt de grote ruimte waar het ontbijtbuffet met ruim voldoende keuze geserveerd wordt. Vanuit het hotel loop je binnen 5 minuten via de stationshal het stadscentrum met alle belangrijke bezienswaardigheden (waaronder de Dom van Keulen) in. Er zijn voldoende restaurants in de omgeving; het hotel heeft geen restaurant voor lunch of diner.

The hotel is located beside the train station. There are many restaurants nearby and the cathedral is not too far away. The staffs were a little weird. They tried to be funny but maybe something was lost in translation and made us feeling uncomfortable. One of the staffs didn’t understand our question in English, but instead of trying to understand our question, she insisted her answer which left us more confused. Another staff completely ignored us when we were trying to talk to him because he was “busy” doing something else behind the desk although he made a lot of uncomfortable jokes at the beginning.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and the best hotel from Accor Hotels. I had accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. As soon as I realised it, I contacted the hotel. The staff helped me to change my reservation dates. While on my trip, due to the strikes in France and problems with the train connections I had to postpone my meeting online. I sent an email to request to check in early since I will be having my meeting at 1 p.m. Ms Wulff made the necessary arrangements prior to my arrival. On my arrival I was able to check in early and able to proceed with my online meeting. Without her help I would not be able to conduct my meeting. On the next day, I had another online meeting. Her colleague made the necessary arrangements so that the housekeeping team could get the room cleaned before lunch and my next online appointment. Till date I have stayed in a number of hotels from the Accor Hotels group. In comparison to M Gallery am Konzerthaus in Wien, Hotel Mondial am Dom in Cologne exceeds my expectations. Professionalism The staff at the reception were not only friendly and good at what they are doing, they are also willing to help and went an extra mile to make things possible. I would not have been able to get my work done if they did not help me. Even when checking out, the staff was professional and showed interest to assist customers whenever they dan. Splendid Location Situation a few minutes walk from the train station and the main city area, is this hotel definite one of the most strategic location in Cologne. View of the Cathedral I managed to get a glimpse of the cathedral from my room. Dinner I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was not only affordable, the service was impeccable. The waiter even suggested where I could sit so that I can get the best view of the area. Awesome! I would like to thank the remarkable staff for making my stay in Köln memorable und unforgettable. I would definitely be staying in this hotel again when I visit Cologne. In German (Deutsch) Das Hotel Mondial in Köln ist mein Favorit und ist mit Sicherheit das Hotel von der Accor Hotel Gruppe. Ich habe bei der Buchung das falsche Datum eingegeben und musste meine Buchung ändern. Die Mitarbeiterin. hat mir geholfen meine Buchung zu ändern. Wegen Streiks und Probleme mit Deutsch Bahn musste ich meine Termine verschieben. Ich habe das Hotel gefragt ob ich früher einchecken kann um mein Termin online wahr zu nehmen. Frau Wullf hat alles für mich arrangiert damit ich meinen Termin online fortsetzen kann. Am nächsten Tag habe ich auch einen Termin online. Der Kollege von Frau Wulff hat mit dem Housekeeping-Team koordiniert damit das Zimmer von 13 Uhr fertig gereinigt ist. Dadurch könnte ich meinen Termin um 14 Uhr wahrnehmen. Friendly desk staff. Comfortable beds. No mini fridge in room. Rooms were provided with a bottle of water which was nice. Plenty of storage. The soap provided in the bathroom was of poor quality so definitely bring your own. Breakfast was ok. It seemed far too expensive for what it was- yogurt/bread/cheese/ eggs/ honey . One day we found mouldy yogurt/orange/crudités - they dealt with this swiftly and didn’t charge us for breakfast. Housekeeping didn’t come once during our 3 night stay. One of the chairs in our room had questionable stains on it. The gym looked very small and only had one set of weights and an elliptical machine. Overall a comfortable stay. More 3 star than 4 star hotel. Was conveniently situated close to good shops and restaurants.

Ich zu beruflichen Gründen in Köln und wusste nicht, wie lang es Dauern wird. Für das Management kein Problem. Mein Auto parkte kostenlos und dich bekam am Anreisetag eine kostenlose Flasche Kölsch als Schlummertrunk. Alles sehr sauber, ruhig und gepflegt. Ich habe selten so ein Hotel im günstigen Preissegment erlebt. Ich werde dieses zu gleichen Anlässen zukünftig wieder aufsuchen.

TLDR; Feels like a seedy hookup bar with a hotel above it. They’ve embellished the surface of the rooms enough to make it feel “modern” but it lacks any real comforts. My partner said it seems like it’s the perfect place for people who cheat on their spouses to go because it doesn’t matter if it’s comfortable or not, you’re probably only there for one night. - Self check in means employees don’t care or even try to pretend they care. When we walked in no one told us anything about where to go to get our room keys (no obvious signage either)- we noticed the bar was busy and saw some people with luggage in the area so we went there asked; waited till a self check in iPad was available. Automatic card printer printed out the room keys under the iPad but had to request a second one from the bartender. - Room was essentially a glorified closet space. Bed was terribly stiff and had no give, pillows were like hard sponge material shoved into a pillowcase, the shower drain consisted of a tile separated from the other tiles and when it was stepped on even the slightest bit it would collapse and nearly serrated my foot, the shower curtain left a 2 inch gap to the floor and the basin had no lip so the entire bathroom was sopping wet when you finished showering. - The “window” you could open consisted of a 5 inch floor to ceiling slit which you could open to allow in fresh air and the rest of the wall where a window could be was a heavy metal surface. Crawling in and out of bed from one side was fine, but from the other side you had to be a gymnast to get to bed successfully because of the cramped conditions. The fact that there was a USB port by the bedside phone shelf and a wireless charging station built into the other side was nice but… felt like a last ditch effort to try to upsell the rooms. I suppose if you’re a heavy drinker and you’re so drunk every night that you can’t rationalize these things by the time you head upstairs to bed, it’s not the worst place you could pick. But for two people on a European vacation they’ve been trying to plan for the last 5 years this was absolutely not the place we realized it was from the website/reviews.

Visited Cologne for six days in December with our 18y son over the Christmas period. Our daughter, who is working in Cologne, joined us at the hotel for the first three days sharing a twin bedroom with her brother. The location is fantastic - in a quiet square but only 10 minutes walk away from the cathedral. Easy to get to from the airport by train if you have few bags/trolley wheels. Its a unique building and the staff are friendly, helpful and help to create a gentle easy going ambience. Special mention to Nina who was on reception for the first few days - also the guy serving a continental breakfast - welcoming and a lovely gentle manner about him. Rooms are not standard so best to check size and shape of your room - my wife and i moved to a larger room, which was amazing with a view of the square, as the standard was a little too small. Our kids twin bed room was excellent also. Only quibble is that the wi-fi & TV set up could be better - but hey it does work - so minor quibble only. We will definitely be back!

The soap provided in the bathroom was of poor quality so definitely bring your own. Breakfast was ok. It seemed far too expensive for what it was- yogurt/bread/cheese/ eggs/ honey . One day we found mouldy yogurt/orange/crudités - they dealt with this swiftly and didn’t charge us for breakfast. Housekeeping didn’t come once during our 3 night stay. One of the chairs in our room had questionable stains on it. The gym looked very small and only had one set of weights and an elliptical machine. Overall a comfortable stay. More 3 star than 4 star hotel. Was conveniently situated close to good shops and restaurants.

Im Rahmen eines Konzertbesuchs hatte ich die Gelegenheit, in diesem gemütlichen Hotel zu übernachten. Wie schon auf der Homepage zu erkennen ist, zeichnet sich das Hotel durch ein liebevolles und charmantes Konzept aus: die Gäste dürfen die Herzlichkeit und den Einrichtungsstil von Tante Alma bewundern und genießen; fast so, als wäre man bei seiner eigenen Großmutter zu Besuch. Das Mobiliar und die Deko sind dabei stimmig und hübsch ohne kitschig zu wirken. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, bieten ausreichend Platz und die Betten sind wirklich super-bequem. Sowohl das Kaffeekränzchen als auch das kleine Frühstück werden in Almas Wohnzimmer serviert, welches ebenfalls mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet ist. Allerdings kann es beim Frühstück schon mal recht voll und somit (je nach Sitzplatz) etwas trubelig werden. Mich hat das jedoch nicht gestört, da es weder hektisch oder laut wurde, sondern eher das Gefühl vermittelt hat, Teil einer Großfamilie zu sein, in der immer geschäftiges Treiben herrscht. Die Lage des Hotels ist dank der Nähe zum Dom/ Hauptbahnhof und den Kneipen/ Gaststätten und Geschäften im direkten Umfeld hervorragend. Positiv überrascht hat mich hierbei, dass die Geräusche von draußen kaum im Zimmer zu hören waren; so konnte ich wirklich komplett ungestört schlummern. Alles in allem kann ich dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt empfehlen und bedanke mich auf diesem Wege ganz herzlich bei dem durchweg sympathischen und freundlichen Personal, das einem sofort ein Lächeln ins Gesicht zaubert! Sollte ich wieder nach Köln kommen, werde ich Tante Alma auf jeden Fall einen weiteres Mal besuchen!
