We spent five nights here. I am living in Chiba for 18 years. This is the best stay in hotel since I am here. The village is touristic, but authentic and quiet in night. It’s a mix of ancient village, water, nature. The dream China.
The resort is perfectly located on the side of the lake. The common parts are wonderful, from the term, the garden, the courtyards. You can feel the soul of the country here, built by multiple generations.
The rooms are traditional but beautiful and extremely well equipped with huge shower, Japanese toilets, huge bathtub.
There is 3 courtyards, all original and authentic. You feel the heat of history.
The restaurant is the best of the city, for reasonable prices and tasty and comfortable settings.
On the top of it, very dedicated staff, trying their best to make us happy, nice breakfast, nice afternoon tea, tea ceremony… we can be only grateful to have the pleasure to stay here.
Fast train station is just ten minutes away…

TThetraveler83We had a truly exceptional stay at Hongcun Nanhu View Garden. From the very first moment, we were welcomed with genuine warmth — the kind of hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home.
The hotel arranged our transfer from the train station seamlessly, and even helped us figure out the best way to reach our next destination. Every question we had, every small need — they were always there, smiling and ready to help.
The breakfasts were one of the highlights: homemade, authentic, and absolutely delicious. You can feel the love and care in every dish. The owner of the hotel and the entire staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and truly proud of what they do — and it shows.
Staying at Hongcun Nanhu View Garden was not just accommodation; it was an experience. Peaceful views, beautiful traditional architecture, and a team that goes above and beyond. We couldn’t recommend this place more.

SSteveDOverall, I really enjoyed the stay at this hotel. It is very charming, and suits the Hongcun setting so well. The decor is traditional Chinese and so lovely. The staff is wonderful and attentive. The bed is comfortable. The common areas are plentiful. Lovely courtyard outside the room. I am happy with my choice! I would stay here again. The room rate for this hotel is a bit higher than I would expect. Some reasons for this are the pool is not in usable condition, the bathroom is downstairs from the bedroom. The stairs are very steep and a bit precarious to climb and descend. There is no laundry service and not an easy way to do one’s own laundry. All in all I am pleased with my stay at Zhang Mansion.

MM489365****酒店位置比較偏，後面是開發的爛尾景點。環境安靜，停車方便，適合自駕遊住。裝修的還比較新，就是房間都有黴味，而且主要是從下水道里出來的，需要在下水道口加裝返臭堵頭，廁所也有返臭，衹能一直開着門窗和排風扇。早餐比較差，跟標註的早餐價差太遠了，宏村周圍沒什麼好酒店，農村湊合住吧。

ผผู้เข้าพักSuch a fantastic place to stay in this magical village… we felt extremely welcomed since our arrival, the room was so tidy and comfy with all the amenities you could wish for. The breakfast was delicious with attention to all the details including making their own soy milk. We also had dinner there on our last night and the food was nothing short of a fancy restaurant but with the care of a homemade meal. I will never forget my time here… the village is also one of the most magical places I had the chance to visit. The staff helped us get a taxi to our next destination, they were really nice people and we wish to visit them again someday. Thank you!

The food is delicious (I had dinner and breakfast there). They have free bikes and nice maps of the vicinity. I’m really glad I stayed in Bishan; felt much less touristy than Xidi or Hongcun and it has a branch of the librarie avant-gardes bookstores. It’s a solid hour from the high-speed rail, ask them to organize car for you.

The entire place was tastefully designed in modern Chinese style but retaining the roots or history of the complex. The bar and tea room was also stylishly furnished for a relaxing evening. I believe there are movie and KTV rooms at the basement across the restaurant. Along the way to our room, there were several artistic features, adorned with Japanese Maple and reed. The colour scheme and overall feel was relaxing and soothing.
Room was spacious with a garden patio, large indoor tub for onsen style soaking and bath, shower area, large bed and living area, and a separate room for storing luggage and clothes. We had a quiet room at a corner of the compound.
