This is my first time writing a review because I am so grateful to the owner of this hotel! This hotel is located 20-30 minutes walk from the old town, which makes your stay comfortable and quiet from the noise. The hotel provides bicycles to get to the old town. But do not rush to worry. Even though we came here by rented car, due to the holidays, the traffic was too difficult and Mr. Dahua kindly drove us there and picked us up back. Honestly, I have rarely met such kindness. You can also walk around this village to feel the local way of life. Mr. Dahua did everything to make our stay amazing. His wife cooks incredibly delicious food. We could not even think that we could eat anywhere else. I assure you, from the first seconds of your stay here, you will feel like a part of this wonderful family. This hotel is not just a business - this hotel is part of this family and every corner of it is imbued with love for this place. Mr. Dahua also speaks English and can advise and organize local sightseeing tours for you. We cannot express how grateful we are to this family! I highly recommend visiting this wonderful place.

Modern hotel in an excellent location. Shaxi is not big In itself and thus, all of the attractions/must visit places are walkable distance away. The hotel is still relatively new and the features are well maintained. Service is good too with complementary welcome drink, afternoon tea and night dessert provided.

We had an enjoyable stay at Mooncreek Shaxi hotel. On arrival, the hotel staff came out to carry our luggage to the room. We were given a free upgrade to a larger room. Thank you very much. The room is very spacious. N surrounding quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting in the yard to enjoy the sun. The room has floor heating and additional aircon for really chilly days. The charging socket for handphones are pretty fast when compared to our Dali hotel. It was a 5-7min walk to Shaxi town and Yujin bridge. So it was easy to grab lunch and dinner in the town. Hotel breakfast is not bad. They have Chinese set and western set for guests to choose from. N more at the buffet table. They also provide free 6 pieces of laundry per room, though it cannot be socks or underwear. The hotel helped us call the yellow tuktuk to take us to the Xianfeng bookshop. It’s a reasonable 15rmb per way. Coming back, add the WeChat of the driver and WeChat him when u are done to pick u up. Things to note: the immediate surrounding is quite run down but inside the hotel, it’s very nicely designed. Things to improve: no full length mirror in the room. N maybe a rug to instill a sense of warmth in the room. Overall a value for money hotel when you visit Shaxi!

This hotel is really very nice. It is new and the interior design is a mix of traditional details with stylish modern. The room was very big, a lot of natural light, good heating (we stayed in winter time). The location of the hotel is outside the old town but at walking distance trough fields, with stunning views of the mountains. Service and breakfast also very good.

We had a wonderful one-night stay here. The hotel kindly offered us a complimentary room upgrade. The receptionist was very friendly and helped us arrange a car to another city, making our travel so much easier. Shaxi itself is a charming town — peaceful, relaxing, and perfect for a slow-living experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the local charm.

We had an amazing stay at Guan Rui. The hotel is newly built (about two years old), a beautiful wooden house situated in the quieter part of town, which allowed us to really relax and take in the surroundings. The hosts and staff were incredibly kind and welcoming - when I had asked for dinner options nearby where we could have food delivered to the hotel, the hosts offered to help us order food in and even invited us to join them for dinner. We had a lovely chat and this made us feel right at home! Small bites offered over tea and breakfast were great too. They had a choice of noodles or sandwiches, which was a nice change from the other Chinese food we’ve been having throughout our trip.  The location is perfect — just a short walk to some cozy cafes with beautiful views, where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Shaxi. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and we especially appreciated the electric blankets that kept us warm through the chilly night.  Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I wish we had stayed on longer. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Shaxi!!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Christy and Tutti were so kind and showed us all the features of the room. Christy helped us to get conditioner when housekeeping had forgotten in it ahead of our arrival (she got it in the blink of an eye). They even helped us book DiDi's to different places of interest. The attentiveness of the staff was unparalleled. The rooms were immaculately clean and big. The heat in them really works well. The views from our room and the hotel in general were amazing, with the mountains to the west and the lake to the east. The features of the room were incredible, with a smart toilet and a huge bathtub. They had a luandry service that was fast and left our clothes smelling so good. The location was great, extremely close to the ancient city but far away enough to have great views and lots of quiet. There's even a secret path close to the hotel that takes you right to the ancient city and is a gorgeous walk in its own right. Our vacation in Dali was incredible and it wouldn't have been nearly as magical had we not stayed here. We loved this hotel and we would stay here in again without question.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the very sincere team at Linden. They have been nothing short of amazing，wonderful hospitality, genuine warmth, and so sincere. We couldn’t thank them enough for making us feel so at home. We booked a 3D2N stay at Linden. Before we arrived, we were actually planning where we might go nearby，attractions, etc.but in the end, none of that really mattered. We ended up staying on the property the whole time, aside from short walks around the reservoir just outside and a visit to the village with one of the staff. The rest of the time, we simply rested and enjoyed the property. It was so amazing that we didn’t even want to leave. The food was wonderful too. We had a BBQ on the first night, great atmosphere, incredibly fresh, hearty, and delicious food. We loved it so much that we decided to repeat the same menu the next night. Both we and the kids had a truly great time, and it was such a memorable experience. Thank you, 喜林苑! We will be back. M
