💥Update on Dec. 21: Thailand halts Quarantine-free Entry Policy
From December 21st, Thailand halted its quarantine-free entry policy. No more applications for quarantine-free entry into Thailand will be accepted. It will last until Jan. 4th, when the Covid-19 panel lead by Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha will reassess the program.
Visitors who have already applied for quarantine-free entry and got approvements, will be allowed to enter Thailand without quarantine, but additional requirements are needed: they should take PCR test upon their arrival and day 7.
💥Thailand's latest outbreak information
The Thai Foreign Ministry has released a full list of 46 locations from which fully vaccinated travelers will be allowed to enter Thailand quarantine-free beginning November 1, 2021. See the two attached infographics for more details.
Traveler Requirements:
1. Spend the 21 days prior to intended departure in an approved location.
2. At least 14 days prior to intended departure, have completed a full vaccination regimen using a COVID-19 vaccine approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO).
3. Have proof of negative RT-PCR test for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours of intended departure.
4. Undergo an additional RT-PCR test on-arrival in Thailand and self-isolate for 1 night at an SHA+ approved hotel while awaiting test results.
5. Purchase medical insurance valid for use in Thailand with a minimum coverage amount of US$50,000.

From November 1st, people from low-risk countries including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Germany who have completed the COVID-19 vaccination should present a negative test for COVID-19 when entering the country, and receive another test after entering the country. Free of isolation and free movement in Thailand.

From October 1st, passengers who have received two doses of the vaccine must be quarantined for 7 days and undergo two tests during the period; those who have not been vaccinated and enter by air or sea must be quarantined for 10 days and undergo two tests during the period; when entering by land, they must be quarantined for 10 days. Must be quarantined for 14 days. In addition, Phuket is now fully open to global travelers who have been vaccinated, and travelers who have been vaccinated can travel to Phuket without isolation! The Thai government plans to open up tourist areas in Thailand in phases.

Thailand entry regulations (Phuket excluded)

1. Long-term visitors

Thailand has opened visa-free or special visa entry travel to 3 types of countries and regions, including:
The first category is open to 56 countries and regions including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. These countries and regions are allowed to stay for 30 days under the visa-free program. The Thai government is striving to extend the visa-free stay period from 30 days to 45 days to make up for the time required for the two-week quarantine.
The second category is 6 countries and regions that have signed bilateral agreements with Thailand, including Hong Kong, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Russia and Vietnam.
The third category of countries that have also signed bilateral agreements with Thailand and are allowed to stay for no more than 90 days are Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru.
2. Passengers who hold work permits, residence permits, or have family members in Thailand
Foreigners who hold work permits, residence permits, or have family members in Thailand can enter Thailand since July, but are subject to 14-day quarantine. The measures apply to spouses and children of foreigners who have Thai work permits, foreigners married to Thais, foreigners with permanent residency, foreign students and their parents, and foreigners who come to Thailand to receive medical services.
3. Business travelers
Starting from July 2020, business travelers from Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Japan and South Korea can apply for visas to enter Thailand. If travelers stay in Thailand for more than 14 days, they must be quarantined for 14 days after entering the country. Passengers can be exempted from the quarantine arrangement if they stay in Thailand for less than 14 days, but they must be tested for the virus in their own country and when they arrive in Thailand, and they cannot use public transportation in Thailand.

Phuket is now fully open to vaccinated global travelers. Those who have been vaccinated can travel to Phuket without isolation!
If you want to travel to other parts of Thailand, such as Bangkok, Chiang Khan, and Samui, you must first stay in Phuket for 7 days and have a negative result of the new crown virus test. Passengers must make reservations with hotels certified by the Thai government's SHA+ (Safety & Health Administration)*, and during their stay in Thailand, they must use the "ThailandPlus" mobile app that can track their itinerary. At present, 1,389 establishments and companies in Phuket have obtained SHA+ certification, including 882 accommodations, 169 restaurants, 157 travel agencies and related industries, and 181 other categories.
*At least 70% of employees in SHA+-certified sites and companies have completed two doses of COVID-19 vaccination
Documents required for entry into Phuket
- Passport and visa, if you stay for more than 30 days, you must apply for a "long-stay tourist visa"
- Certificate of Entry (COE, Certificate of Entry) (application takes 3 days)
- Show a record of completed vaccination approved by the WHO
- Show the negative result of the COVID-19 nucleic acid test performed within 72 hours before the departure time
- Present a medical insurance certificate with an insured amount of more than US$100,000 (including new coronary pneumonia)
- And install the ThailandPlus app on your phone for tracking
- Phuket Hotel Requirements: Health and Safety Hotel Certification Scheme (SHA+)
- Travelers to Phuket must stay in a hotel or resort with SHA+ certification for 14 days
- Present proof of booking SHA+ hotel from SHABA system or Entry Thailand
- Must stay in the same hotel for at least 7 days (must be a Phuket hotel)
🏛Anti-epidemic measures for Thailand attractions
Thailand has launched the Safe Travel Label to certify hotels and restaurants that implement anti-epidemic measures and meet sanitary standards. Visitors can check hotel information on the Internet before visiting Thailand.
