|0.8km กม.จากตัวเมืองThis hotel was booked for us by our travel agent. It’s only 11 minutes from the airport and located near the center of Mahon and the port. There aren’t any beaches in this immediate location so you’ll either need a car, taxi, or excursion to get to beaches if that’s what you’re looking for. If it’s the only thing you’re looking for, stay in another town where beaches are in walking distance. I’d hate for the area to get a bad review because assumptions were made. It’s got it’s own charm and it should be appreciated. Check-in was easy. Don’t fret when you see the sign to enter the reception area. It says hostal, but the reception area is for both the hostal of the building you walk into and the separate hotel rooms you’ll stay in in another building. Our room was on the first floor. It was a good size, clean, with simple decorations. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure strong, and the hot water was HOT. You shouldn’t have an issue relaxing here and getting a good night’s rest. The breakfast was very good and we loved the B&B feel. You had someone serving you breakfast, coffee, etc. It added a nice personal touch. The room was made daily and they did a phenomenal job. There was no safe in the room, but the area is extremely safe and there are cameras in the lobby area. The area is picturesque. Part of its charm is getting lost in the narrow streets and I advise you do. Menorca sticks to its Spanish roots and traditions so expect it to be very quiet after lunch. Some stores and restaurants even close until dinner time which is pretty late (8:00pm). This was the case when we arrived, but it did give us plenty opportunity for pictures without battling tourists for a “good spot”, lol. There isn’t a “nightlife” here in the traditional sense. Your best bet would be near the boardwalk. You’ll want to stay in another town for that which we were told is the “party area”, but after being in Menorca for a few days we learned the island itself is much slower paced and traditional. We appreciated that since we came from Barcelona where it’s much more crowded and busy. Lastly, parking would’ve been tough and we didn’t rent a car. Having a car would’ve probably made things a little easier and cheaper. We had to go to Fornells which is 25 minutes away for our excursion departures. At the time of writing, it was about 35 euros for a trip there and another 30-35 for the trip back. You can make the decision on if you’d benefit from a car, but for us being here a few days it didn’t make the most sense. All in all, I’d highly recommend this hotel and ended up enjoying the location, slow pace, and relaxing vibes.

It was our Honeymoon, we didn’t really know what to expect, we’d never been to either the resort or Menorca itself. We were pleasantly surprised with both a relatively short flight and coach transfer, and on arrival at the hotel, plenty of friendly faces who were all happy to help. Everyone spoke great English if that’s something you’re after. The hotel was very clean, well kept, maids and gardeners always pottering about making sure things are as they should be. The room was clean, basic, but clean with a lovely pool view/balcony. Air Con in both kitchen/living area and bedroom. TV with both Spanish & English channels. A great key-card system that never faltered for us once. The pools were again, clean, well kept, sun-loungers are stacked neatly and there are plenty of them. Plenty of room poolside and shade if you should want it. Pool side bar, music playing but not too loud. Mini-market on hand too with everything you could need and more, taking both card & cash. The food was amazing with so much on offer, replenished very frequently and always something different every night. Pizzeria a very nice touch and specials corner which was amazing. Again very friendly staff who do a great job of collecting plates and empties. All very polite and friendly. Great children’s entertainment however there is only 1 bar open in the evening meaning if Children’s entertainment isn’t your thing then you might be a bit miffed. One thing to bare in mind is this is a family friendly resort and a very safe one at that. If children/families aren’t your thing then Adult Only might be more for you. Overall, I would recommend the Binimar to anyone and everyone, they are a credit to the Globales family and the perfect example of what every holiday experience should be.

The staff was very kind and helpful and patient with us, even though we couldn't speak the language right. the rooms are spacious and excellently tidy and aesthetically pleasing. they have a common area with an open roof where you can stargaze on summer nights.

|0.43km กม.จากตัวเมืองWe have just returned from two glorious weeks at this lovely hotel. We had a beautiful room overlooking the start of the estuary and the Isle de Rei. The morning sunrise was just fabulous! I had read before my visit that although the walk-in showers had been completed, the rooms themselves needed a refurbish. Well the bathroom is lovely. You have shampoo, bath wash and gorgeous body milk. Beautiful shower area. Such a delight! Yes, the rooms are looking well worn, but my only criticism would be lack of drawer space. If you are staying for two weeks it can be tricky to keep your clothes ‘tidy’ all piled up in the wardrobe. The hotel is blessed with the most wonderful happy staff! Thank you to all we met who enhanced our stay with their positive attitude. Special mention has to go though to Harold at the bar. A true professional! His cocktails never disappointed ! The food in the dining room was really good when we arrived. Lots of choice and of a very good quality. Towards the end of our stay, when numbers dwindled, there was still a great display of Menorcan foods, meats and cheeses. The soup was divine, and the different breads just lovely. Salads were plentiful and varied, and the puddings were scrumptious! There was still always something tasty and different to choose every evening. The chefs were continually checking the food and replacing it when necessary. Cleo and Alexander were great hosts. There was low key entertainment twice a week. Good singers, and we particularly loved the jazz trio on the last evening. They put their own take on many popular songs and did it very well. Es Castell is full of history, and we enjoyed visiting Mahon. You can either walk for about 15 to 20 mins, or catch a bus into the station. From here you can use the buses to visit other places very easily. Or walk down into the town and take in all the sights! There is a fish market and attached to it an area which does tapas and all different kinds fishy snacks. On our last Saturday there was music and it made for a lovely atmosphere. Would we return to the Agamemon? Certainly we will! The views are a delight, always something different going on.

The hotel staff were particularly helpful, when we asked for suggestions for places to visit or calas to sunbathe. Indeed we suggested the receptionist was better than Google! For breakfast you can order many things: I recommend the toast with avocado and anchovies. The charming lady will make it there and then for you. Overall we had a wonderful week there.

|7.77km กม.จากตัวเมืองWe arrived before our apartment was ready and had an hour to kill, so went for something to eat at the pool bar, the food was not good, stone cold chips and a bacon coloured chicken burger, pizza that looked like a tortilla with cheese, which made us decide to give the resort food a miss. Keys collected and into the apartment, we were in Caleta Playa very close to the beach, with a fantastic view and a west facing balcony. The apartment was basic, 2 rings, toaster, microwave remember to take a sharp knife and coffee cups the room is only supplied with espresso cups. don't worry about towels or toilet paper the house keeping lady came everyday. Small shop on site and better shop about 7mins away. This is a remote place with very little nearby everywhere is a walk, bus or taxi, Cuitadella which 30 mins walk or 5 euro's in a taxi is a must, also good bus service. PROS, beautiful area super close to beach and clear sea. Plenty of sunbeds and 7 pools at the resort. Both bedroom and living area had AC House keeping everyday. Nearest bar is about 5 min's away ODEUM which is very nice with a Pizza van on site. Free security box helpful reception staff more than happy to get a taxi CONS, it's used and could really do with some investment, limited equipment in the apartments. Very poor Wifi Very limited for food and drinks near hotel.

|0.35km กม.จากตัวเมืองDifficult to grade this hotel as it’s not the kind we’d normally choose, but as this was chosen for us by our tour company for an overnight stay during our Cami de Cavalls island tour, we checked in with the lovely and very friendly staff and were then .. well.. let’s be kind and say our room was … bijou Again, it was all very clean with plenty of white towels that were fine, but imagine will need replacing soon enough.. But seriously.. I say bijou.. and there’s small and there’s small, there was barely enough room to get round the bed.. the air con is a three speed ceiling fan, so luckily for us it was a cool May so really wasn’t needed, but imagine things are very different in August. The bathroom was adequate, but oh boy, we learned quickly not to leave the fan in as it only made the drains smell twice as bad to the point of nearly reporting to reception, and if staying longer likely would have done.. Breakfast was adequate.. but honestly, there was a tray of cold meats and cheese we didn’t go near as we couldn’t decide to knock off the shelf accidentally so a new lot would have to brought out, or just sing Happy Birthday to it.. there was a plate of scrambled egg that, we avoided, so went for the safe option of toast and jam with machine coffee and juice from a shop bought jar with the screw on lid.. and risked a couple of pastries Like I said at the start, for the price, you have a clean and comfortable bed, and even have the option of breakfast in the morning.. it’s just somewhere we personally wouldn’t choose to return to.. we’re sure it will continue to be full through the year.. what I couldn’t get is how there are 30+ higher graded hotels than this in town??

Many Pros and Cons...: Pros : Location unbeatable: The view, the beach are just amazing. It's perfect. Staff amazing: Really love the staff. They are great people (thanks!) Excellent buffet breakfast as usual. So much of everything, Evening entertainment not bad in the bar. Hotel quiet so didn't expect much. Room cleaners and service: Absolutely first class. Drinks from Bar: Excellent quality Cleanliness of hotel common areas: Excellent Cons (first time for us experiencing these): Where is the 'Melia smell' !! :( The reception area didn't have the amazing smell like it used to. Though we found it elsewhere in the hotel. We always remember this hotel for its amazing smell as you enter. I know it's petty but I was sad not to smell it. Our family loved that first impression from before.. Damp family rooms. We were moved from first room due to wet drip over kids bed. 2nd Room still wasn't great with smell of damp. It's noticeable as you walk down the hall (rooms 633 onwards). The staff sorted a room quickly but we'd unpacked already and I wasn't happy repacking. No compensation (bottle of wine?) or help to move clothes. Mmmm c'mon 5* hotel! There is some issue there it seems. Hotel Bar: Service way to slow. Just not enough staff. Bar was busy in the evening despite October. Pool& 'Hot tubs': Very cold. C'mon Melia it's a 5*. Just heat them. We had windy weather on the beach a few days and the pool was extremely chilly which didn't help. They really could do with updating the pool size now. It's not a highlight. Buffet meal at night: Tried it once and it was average. Free Water in the room : 2 x small 330ml cans for family of 4 per day.. Stingy again for 5* Coffee quality: The insta machines were the only option for morning coffee. The taste again not 5*. Yuck. I felt our holiday at the Melia was 'good' but not excellent. The weather wasn't great but we had a nice holiday. Sadly the Melia had to close off the main terrace restaurant due to wind so the hotel residents had to use the other restaurant areas which were quite busy. Just a few touches and drier smelling rooms would have helped. Hope this feedback is received positively as we love the hotel. Tips: Get a car, goto Cuitadella and Mahon for dinner, they're amazing places to spend time (both). If you have kids the Toboggan place in Cala Galdana is fun and the lunch food is great considering it's a little water slide place.

Et bien, je suis très agréablement surprise car la résidence est très calme (nous sommes en juillet), très bien tenue par le Manager qui est présent et contribue à ce que tout se passe bien. Nous avions demandé une chambre au calme et ce fut le cas. Le personnel est hyper gentil et efficace. Résidence très propre et l'appartement aussi. Les lits sont faits à l'arrivée, ce n'est pas en supplément, et les serviettes sont changées en milieu de séjour. Les bruits de chaises que l'on peut entendre sont vraiment liés au fait que les gens ne font pas attention... Elle est située à 100 mètres d'une petite crique avec 3 bars et restaurants et idéalement située de tous commerces et de Cuidadela qui est magnifique. Le restaurant de la résidence est fermé mais finalement ce n'est pas gênant. Parking cher, 9€/jour et sans ombre...On arrive à se garer dans la rue. Il manque un grille pain et des cuillères à soupe. En tous cas, c'est la première résidence Pierre et Vacances que je vois aussi bien tenue ! Bravo !

Our room was basic and small, and although we had booked for self catering the kitchenette facilities are very basic with no oven. There is only 1 supermarket in walking distance which is very expensive. However, the main facilities, site and pool were ok, and the beach nearby is great. My main issue was with the site management and lack of staff available for emergencies, and then reaction from the hotel upon making a complaint. Whilst staying at the hotel we purchased additional tickets for 3 days entrance into the on site water park. This is part of the hotel facility and the lifeguards move between the splash park and the main pool. I.e. there is a shared staffing and it is free flow between the 2 areas, though they are about 50m away from each other. My children (aged 2 and 5) enjoyed playing in the small splash and slide area, although it is clearly very dated with sections cordoned off with tape and cushions fixed onto sharp edges. Separate to the main splash area there are 3 large water slides. There is a lifeguard positioned at the top and on a number of occasions he is the only lifeguard in the entire water park. When I rode the slide the inflatable ring flipped over and I flew out head first hitting the top left hand side of my head on the side of the slide and I couldn't stand up. Two women ran over to ask if I was ok as they had seen me fall. I said I wasn't ok and couldn't stand up. My hands were shaking. Before I knew it a child flew into my back on their ring and climbed over me to get out. One of the women that was helping me shouted up to the lifeguard to stop sending people down and to help but he didn't do anything. The lifeguard at the top was sending people down the slide and that seemed to be his priority. The woman that had helped me said the other lifeguard had been taking a 'break' in the toilets and that's why he had not been present. There were times at the main pool when there were no lifeguards present for over an hour. Some of the lifeguards seemed to be more responsive to people and I believe part of the problem is understaffing by the hotel. There does not appear to be any cover available for breaks and I often saw the lifeguards bring food from the buffet to eat their lunch while on duty. When I raised my concerns with the hotel they said that they could not see why I had a problem because there was a lifeguard at the top of the slide. When I said that he didn't do anything to help they just repeated the same response. They denied that the main pool was ever without a lifeguard present, even when we saw this every day. It's quite clear from the photos attached that the lifeguard at the top of the slide cannot see the bottom of the slide so there is no way they can know that the last person has exited safely. We booked through Jet 2 and this hotel is included as a 'Family Favourite'. It is absolutory not suitable or safe for families

|10.83km กม.จากตัวเมืองThe most relaxing holiday we have had for such a long time. This quiet resort only has two hotels. The Tirant Playa hotel is comprised of accommodation blocks only two levels high, all apartments with beautiful views across the inlet with the sun shining by day and setting in the evening giving a beautiful glow across the hills. The beach is a joy with a long stretch of shallow water and if you walk around the inlet, you will see turtles basking in the sun. Carry on walking and you come to a section of the Cami de Cavalls, a walking route that circles the island. Back at our lovely apartment, there is an amazing large pool, with a sparkling clean restaurant providing drinks and meals and attended by lovely staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Loved their positive attitude. Similarly, the staff at reception were there to help with all requests. We felt relaxed and cared for. And last but not least our rooms were immaculate with fresh towels every other day; even lovely beach towels provided on The kitchen was well equipped with a new microwave and hob; there was loads of storage space for kitchen items, clothes and paraphernalia. Tut is a 30/40 minute walk into Fornells, a small harbour town with gorgeous restaurants and there is a timely bus service if you want to visit the larger towns on the island. Absolutely loved TRH Tirant Playa and we can’t wait to return.

I did feel the restaurant was more like a cafeteria and very brightly lit. On our first evening we were left to find a table when it was really busy. It's always nice to be greeted by someone when you arrive. There was plenty of choice for hot and cold meals. We walked to the marina each evening and as others have said it is a 15/20 minute walk from the hotel. Depends how fast you walk!! The cleaning staff are brilliant and cleaned our room every day. The pools and grounds are well looked after also. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Everyone spoke good English and tolerated my attempts at speaking Spanish. Wi-Fi was excellent throughout the hotel, including our room and even the pool area. We stayed in a Superior Junior Suite, room 2A101. It had everything that we could need, including UK TV channels (sometimes there was some flickering but nothing to get fussed about), hob, fridge, microwave etc. The room was very clean and tidy, with a very comfortable bed. Loads of hanging space and room for all your stuff. It was cleaned every day, including new towels. The shower was great, tons of hot water and great pressure. We had a good view over the pool area, and sometimes sat there just watching the world go by. The grounds were immaculate with grass areas all round the pool and lovely palm trees everywhere. The pool area was well laid out with lots of loungers and parasols. There was a lifeguard on duty all day, every day too. We stayed B/B and the breakfast was superb. A good mix of cereals, all sorts of breads (including a toaster), hams, cheeses, jams and coffee machines. Also a great range of hot stuff including a chef making eggs and bacon dishes. We ate at the hotel bar area (just next to the pool) a few times. It was great, with a mix of salads, burgers and local dishes. Everything we had was well presented and reasonable value. We had thunderstorms on a couple of days so we made use of the Fitness Room – a treadmill, stepper, cycle with multigym and free weights – everything you could need. We used the free local shuttle minibus a few times too: down and back to the beach area in Son Bou. We always booked to make sure we got a seat, and everything worked well. There is a well-stocked supermarket within the hotel complex and we found everything that we needed. Overall, we had a great time at the hotel. We would definitely go back: we couldn’t fault it at all.
