Grupotel Macarella Suites & Spa

Had a fantastic stay at Macarella suites and spa. The hotel is really clean and when we arrived they upgraded our room to a two bedroom apartment, it was huge. The food is very good and offer a good selection . The staff are all friendly and very helpful. This was our first time in Menorca and Macarella suites. Loved every minute being there. Will definitely go back and will definitely be booking Macarella suites and spa.

My wife and I have just returned from our second holiday at the Macarella Suites, and as per the first visit, the hotel did not let us down - not one little bit! From the moment you walk into the open spacious reception you feel you have arrived somewhere special. Check in was fast and efficient with the staff providing all the information and ready to answer any question, however insignificant they may have been to them. We had a room on the first floor, with balcony overlooking the rear of the hotel. It was immaculate and so spacious. The bedroom had plenty of storage, a TV and the beds were extremely comfortable. Linen was changed every couple of days. French doors opened out onto a small balcony. Excellent. The bathroom was well equipped with bath with shower over, as well as a separate shower cubicle. Plenty of hot water and towels changed as and when required. The lounge/kitchen area had 2 sofa’s, a dining table and chairs and a Smart TV. The kitchen area, if you needed to use it, had all the basics and a fridge. I would note here that the fridge, even on top setting, was not particularly cold and the TV could have done with more channels preset. A minor gripe though, in fairness. The restaurant was excellent. Always plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner with a wide variety of dishes served. A good selection of starters and salads were always available, with plenty of fresh bread and sauces. Chefs were on hand live cooking meats and fish, to compliment the pre prepared main course dishes. Pizza’s and pasta were freshly cooked and there were always plenty of salads and vegetables to accompany your chosen dishes. Desserts were plentiful and various ice creams ensured there was always something to finish off a good 3 course dinner. A good selection of wines and beers too. Breakfast was excellent too. Anything you could think of was available and again chefs live cooking eggs as you like them. The swimming pool and surrounding area was superb. Plenty of beds and shades. Towels are provided which could be changed twice a week. The poolside snack bar provided drinks and lunches every day. There’s a small indoor pool/sauna and a seemingly well equipped gym. I’ve kept the best until last. The Staff. To a person absolutely wonderful, and as a testament to the hotel and it’s management, the same staff come back year after year. Lucia, who manages front of house at the restaurant has been there for over 25? years - certainly since it opened. A treasure, as were Cynthia, Jesus, Carmen, Lucia #2 and Antonio. The chefs worked tirelessly to provide great food. Special thanks to Jesus and Francis - great characters. The bars are run by Augustin, Gema, Uxía and Claudia. They are brilliant, as are the unknown house staff and all the others working behind the scene. All special people. Thank you. So, you might gather I like this hotel. Great location, nice hotel. Pool was never busy. Easy access to the Marina which we did daily. Short walk to the beach. The food was great. The air conditioning didn't work, we moved rooms but sadly it was the same. There was air coming out the vent but it certainly wasn't cold. Had a strange experience on the last day with housekeeping. My sister had left at 6am, my daughter had been staying in her room with her cousin. My daughter left her packed suitcase in the room and for safety came into my room when my sister left for her flight. We went back just before 9am and the case was gone. Luckily i speak Spanish, the suitcase had been emptied into a bin bag, all her toiletries into a carrier bag. We got it all back, checked everything but a few bits were missing. When I asked the same cleaner they were mysteriously in her trolley amongst the dirty sheets. The hotel knew we were two families in adjacent rooms, why they didn't just call and and ask why the bag was left. Check - in is the afternoon so no rush. It was a slightly disappointing end to a great week

Super hotel, brilliant week, hotel very clean. Spacious apartment type room, comfortable bed not so comfortable pillows, restaurant full of fresh appetising food plenty of choice Staff very efficient and friendly a real credit to hotel. Pool and pool bar great plenty of beds to choose from, entertainment low key some better than others. Great position for harbour, 2 beaches, bus stops We had a wonderful stay would come back Thank you Macarella suites for a smashing holiday!!

Amazing stay can't wait to go back .Spotless hotel .Never have we met such friendly staff ,they just couldn't do enough for you Every one from reception, bar dining staff and the cleaners so pleasant .Can't say the same for the Tui rep very rude and condescending .Food was exceptional both breakfast and evening meal .Next time we will stay here and hire a car to see other places .Hotel so close to beach and marina

Excellent hotel, all staff friendly and professional. Restaurant always maintained with food trays kept full. Staff interchange with tasks, so get to know them quite well. Location is perfect for a short stroll to bars etc. All in all a good time was had by all six of us, which was mostly due to our choice of hotel. Thanks to all.

Very good hotel, very relaxing, food good & varied. Friendly & helpful staff in restaurant, bars and reception, Augustine very efficient in restaurant and Gema at the bar is always smiling. This is our 2nd holiday here and we plan to go back next year. Entertainment generally ok but not great. Short walk to port & restaurants and bars (we didn’t eat out because we enjoyed the food in the hotel). Supermarket and bus stop very short walk away.

Really impressed with this hotel .. rooms kept spotless , pool never crowded and immaculately clean , breakfast was spot on many choices. Will definitely return.

2 great rooms and AC great (just make sure patio doors properly shut!) all staff so attentive, smiling and helpful. Lovely pool and always able to get a sunbed so no need to scramble. Buffet breakfast great. Pool bar for lunch makes it hard to self cater when so good and reasonably priced! We’ll definitely go back! Perfect for family with young kids
