"Loar has three kinds of accommodation - hotel/suites in one building and apartments and studios is the adjoining building. The buildings are seamless on he ground floor but separate lifts service the two buildings. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which has a balcony big enough for two chairs so great for looking at the comings and goings of locals and their families and what was going on in the square. The 12 apartments have outward facing balconies whereas the studios face the rear. I think it is worth the extra cost to have an apartment as we spent a fair amount of time just enjoying the atmosphere of the town. I don't know about the hotel rooms as we much prefer the space of an apartment and the flexibility to cook our own meals and snacks. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The highlight was the roof terrace with views, loungers, lovely pool and jacuzzi. There is also an indoor heated pool which was a bit awkward to access as unless the restaurant was open the only way in was via a spiral fire escape. Being able to choose which pool you fancied was a real treat and we mostly had the roof terrace to ourselves. The town itself had no real must-sees for tourists but it was a convenient base to explore the island. Although Loar does not offer parking we always found a space within a few minutes' walk. There are enough places to eat and drink with three decent sized supermarkets, a butcher and fishmonger if you wanted to cook. The apartment facilities made this easy. It is quite surprising to have such a large establishment in an inland town but it seemed quite busy and the bar & restaurant were popular. I certainly recommend Loar and Ferreries. Staying in a central town worked well for us. Don't hesitate to stop at a cheese producer, signposted everywhere. Mahon cheese is excellent."

"We had a lovely time. Our apartment was very big, clean and had everything we needed. We had room 18 which was overlooking the street. It was the end apartment and right above the supermarket which was very handy. I had read that wifi was only available at the pool so I was surprised to find that every room had wifi. We also had a bottle of water, a kettle and pool towels which we were not expecting. I enjoy sitting out on the balcony in the evening so I was worried the location may have been a little loud but it really wasn't loud at all and everything went very quiet from around 11pm. The pool was always spotless and a perfect temperature. There were always lots of sunbeds available despite some selfish people putting out towels for hours before using them (I guess these people are everywhere). It was perfectly quiet most of the time and so relaxing. Cala Galdana is beautiful and is so lovely to walk around in the evening. We were disappointed with how busy the beach was. I love the beach but only visited once for an hour because the crowds were unbearable which was sad. The beach was better in the evening. There are lots of lovely restaurants all very close to the apartments, we didn't have a bad meal all week. All staff were very friendly too, we had been a little worried after seeing the negativity towards tourists in some Spanish resorts but there was none of that here. The apartments are an easy bus ride away to Ciutadella which is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. We would definitely recommend."

"Just returned from a 6 night stay, we were in room 022 which at 1st we were a bit disappointed with as we would have liked a high floor, but we couldn't fault the room..nice big veranda.. a airer or line to dry your towels would have been nice but not a big issue, aircon was good, fridge worked well, bathroom fine..people have been complaining about the food in other reviews but we found it fine, plenty of cereals ,cold meats ,salads. We only ate breakfast and occasionally lunch, as so many places in the village to eat on an evening. The pool area is clean, no need to worry about getting a lounger if wanted. Regarding the €1 deposit on cups, it makes sense as it means people don't just leave them to blow around when finished, the slabs clunking on other reviews really aren't a problem unless you're looking for one! The tables outside could do with a wipe more often but not a big issue, the veiw is well worth it. People mention no snacks, but you can help yourselves to pastries and fruit if needed between meals.didnt interact with staff much but they all seem pleasant.. its worth noting it is a 3 star hotel, and it's more than satisfactory, if you go on holiday to never leave the hotel probably not for you, but if you are happy to use it as a base its lovely. Clean rooms, good aircon, cold beer, lovely quite setting. All in all a lovely relaxing few days."

"The room is not big, but the sea view is beautiful! The red-haired lady at the check-in front desk was very patient and nice, and explained every matter in detail! It gave us a very good impression when we first arrived at the hotel! Including booking a boat trip and a taxi to the airport, the entire front desk team was very active and professional! I especially want to emphasize the praise of the beautiful Manuela who is the receptionist at the cape nao restaurant on the ground floor. She is so nice, very enthusiastic and energetic! She helped us find a good dining seat, and asked us if the meal was cold and if we needed a shawl! She knew that girls like to take pictures, and she also helped us reserve a sea view table for dinner the next day! I was really touched! My whole heart was healed!"

"Booked a last minute 3 night all inclusive stay with friends and kids, this gave us unlimited use of the aqua park 5 mins walk away, we was given a 1 bed apartment and a twin room. These were both adequate for all of our needs. Clean and airy. Great facilities for all ages, lovely grounds and pool areas. Nice selection of food too. Would definitely go again"

"I returned a few days ago from our second lovely holiday here with my family. We stayed in the Hooky sea view room. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. The food was buffet style and very tasty, I ate fish and veg every day. My 5 year old son had everything he liked- they cater very well to children!. The pool is fab and to be honest we spent most of our time here enjoying the sun and swimming. My favourite activity was pool aerobics and dancing, the staff made it so fun, extra points if you do it drunk. The best thing about the resort is the staff, they are so welcoming and accommodating. I’m particularly grateful to Anabella for helping to organise a cake for my husbands birthday up in Los Olivos, It was so last minute that I asked and she still pulled it out of the bag for me, Fernando was also amazing here too, thank you. Iker and Jorge were wonderful, they went the extra mile every day, were lovely with our son and with us. It was great to see them again. I hope that the hotel recognises and rewards staff like them. The children’s activities are good at Kiko land, the splash pad is a nice addition. The children’s club staff work really hard putting on shows and running activities during the day in the boiling heat. They do such a great job. We are booking 14 nights next summer. And looking forward to returning. I think this place is worth coming to, it’s very family oriented and caters well to that demographic. If you come here you won’t be disappointed."
