Welcome to Miller Beach! This 1950's charmer is only 2 blocks from the sugar-sand beaches of Lake Michigan! The famous Flamingo Pizza, restaurants and mini-mart are right around the corner. Our 1950's home has charm and character, with enough space for 8 (1 adult + 2 kids extra in den if needed) and a three-tiered deck to enjoy dinner and an evening campfire.Our house is a single story home with hardwood floors and low ceilings characteristic of the mid-century style. Kitchen and dining area are at the front of the house, which open up to the main living room of the home. The house continues back to the three bedrooms and single bathroom. Finally, there is a comfortable and spacious den at the back of the home with a working gas fireplace. The den has three couches that convert to beds, one large enough for an adult and the other two large enough for pre-teens. From the den you can go out to our three-story back deck that covers the backyard with a outdoor dining set and a covered seating area with television.The location is ideal for a short walk to the beautiful beaches of Miller! We are only 0.2 miles away from Sullivan Beach entrance and 0.3 miles to the Shelby St Beach entrance. Maple is a quiet, tree-lined street only one block from Flamingo Pizza and the Miller Mini Mart.Our property is a 1950 single-level home with all the charm of a mid-centry property. Updated kitchen with all amenities, full bathroom with tub and den for additional sleeping with large-screen tv and games!Our backyard has three decks! The first level has seating for morning coffee, the second level has a large table with six chairs and an umbrella. The top deck has a very comfortable lounge area with seating for 6 and a large tv.It's a safe and peaceful place to relax and enjoy surrounded by plants, wildlife and an amazing beach with views of downtown Chicago just blocks away!Guest accessGuests will be provided with a private code in advance to enter the front door, simply tap the home icon to activate and enter the code. The code will remain active for the entirety of your booking.Plenty of parking spaces available up to five cars.Other things to noteEarly check-in and/or late check-out may be available depending on other bookings, feel free in inquire.All televisions are streaming only, if any of your favorite streaming services are not loaded feel free to download them. The TV in the back den does have an antennae pointing towards Chicago for over the air channels. The outdoor TV remote, along, with the remote for the outdoor fan & light, are stored in the pocket of the TV protector.The ice maker is currently not working, but there are three ice trays provided and we try to store up backup ice in the ice maker.The outside lights are programmed to turn on at sunset and off at 10:00pm. Welcome to Inn the Navy- This property is located in a quiet beach community. Perfect for family vacations or relaxing with friends. Not intended for loud & rowdy girls/guys trips. Inn the Navy is a 100-year-old beach cottage that has been painstakingly restored to celebrate its past while providing modern upgrades. The name is a nod to the owner’s distinguished career in the U.S. Navy. Nautical touches are found throughout the home, including each bedroom thoughtfully named after the aircraft carriers he served aboard.This home features 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an outdoor shower, firepit and game room. All located on an oversized lot with direct access to a large sandy beach on Lake Michigan. Gather your friends and family for an unforgettable week at the beach. When you enter the upper level, the water view will beckon you toward the back of the house. If you can resist the draw, the designer kitchen will compete for your attention. The kitchen, featuring a 14' quartz island and will be the center point of your time together. Have fun cooking meals with the GE Cafe series appliances. The dining space features a long table with seating for 10. An additional round table will seat the rest of your group. The open concept floor plan extends to the living room. Enjoy some downtime with the smart TV. The back of the home will likely be your favorite space - affectionately referred to as the Piano Room, as it features an antique baby-grand piano.Also on this level are 3 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom. The first bedroom holds a queen size bed. The next bedroom includes a twin bunkbed + a pull-out trundle bed. An additional queen bedroom rounds out this level. The bathroom contains a shower /tub & the gorgeous antique trough sink, original to the home. The final area on the upper level is a quaint space known as the sleeping porch, a whimsical nod to the history of this home. It’s the perfect spot to curl up with a good book. Continue downstairs and challenge your friends to a game of air hockey. An additional smart TV and large comfy sectional will be perfect for movie night. This level includes the remaining 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first and second bedrooms feature a queen bed. The final bedroom includes built-in bunks + stairs. The room has a twin over twin + a twin over queen and is ready for the best slumber parties you can imagine. Both bathrooms on this level feature custom tile showers and pedestal sinks. Laundry and an extra fridge are also found in the mudroom. Step outside to the grass covered side-yard and have a fun game of ping-pong. Or set up a the cornhole game with the custom boards. The cafe string lights will set the tone for an enjoyable evening. Behind the house is an expansive sandy backyard with a wood burning firepit. There are also two full-size picnic tables for casual outdoor dining, found in the covered patio. The beach is quickly accessed through the sand covered pathway in the back. In no time you’ll be lounging alongside the water and feeling the lake breeze.
