This park has it all--amazing museums, a Japanese Tea Garden, several small lakes, paddle boats, running paths, a historic windmill and even a herd of bison! Golden Gate Park is a great place to spend a day adventuring.

I grew up near San Francisco, and every birthday demanded that we go to Golden Gate Park. Sundays are for skating, they close roads and let the roller bladers have the place. There are so many gardens and let me emphasize; this place is HUGE. You can get lost fast, its more like a small forest than a park. If you go West far enough you end up on a vast cold bracing NorCal beach. The best place in the whole City to visit IMHO.
