Fontaine Saint-Sulpice Review

Saint Sulpice is an impressive gothic church in the 6eme arrondissement of Paris, which was built in the 17th century. With a beautiful baroque interior, the church is a stunning piece of architecture often overlooked for the likes of Notre-Dame and Sacre Coeur and is definitely worth visiting. Plus, the location of the church is splendid with a beautiful square and a fountain outside and the small winding lanes of the 6eme arrondissement. Notably, Saint-Sulpice was also the church featured in Da Vinci Code. Is the church really a key holder to the holy grail and was the church built on the remains of a pagan temple? Probably not, but the church does have a boastful history.

Contrary to allegations, the line in the floor is not a vestige of a pagan temple. No such temple ever existed in this place. It was never called a Rose-Line.

This is a beautiful church inside and out, although parts of the facade are looking a bit tired. The great fountain out front is a nice spot to catch your breath and take in the view.

Dragged from relative obscurity in The Da Vinci Code, Saint-Sulpice is nevertheless a lovely albeit slightly decrepit cathedral in Paris. It's a great place to relax and reflect for a bit in one of the coolest sections of Paris. P.S. Introspection is definitely possible here despite the fact that there is no rose line or Priory of Sion related to it.
