You must do!!! The wait could be long but it is so worth it to see! My only warning is for those with children and those that struggle with walking - the climb is excessive and steep and because you are down so far, you can get quite lightheaded when you make it to the surface. For those with children, keep an eye on them. If you are found touching anything, it's a very serious offense. Otherwise, highly recommend !

A sobering walk through the biggest necropolis in the world is worth the many stairs down (and up). Hint: it's worth booking online ahead of your journey to skip the queues.

I did not know what to really expect, but I now can say that it is one of the best €9 spent in the entire tourism industry….Paris has the largest underground necropolis in the world. You can try to imagine six million skeletons in your mind without actually seeing it, but I can assure you that six million skeletons requires about eight times the space that you would mentally imagine.

If you haven't done it before, check out the Catacombs of Paris. While it can be a bit macabre (it's estimated that between six and seven million Parisians call the Catacombs their final resting place), during my trip I found the Catacombs to be a unique and interesting piece of Parisian history.
