Staying at Queens Hotel felt like stepping into a gentler era. Its colonial charm sits proudly at the edge of Kandy Lake, with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth just a short stroll away. The staff’s warmth made the experience feel personal, and the buffet lunch was a highlight in itself. I left with a smile and every intention of returning.

I would like to report an incident that happened in the restaurant. A large and arrogant staff member refused to let me sit at a larger table, saying it was reserved for four people. After our conversation, he deliberately placed a “Reserved” sign on the table. Since no guests arrived, I later asked him again and he said the four guests would come at 21:30. However, the restaurant closes at 22:00, so this explanation did not make sense. In fact, no guests ever arrived. When I asked other staff members for his name, they told me it was Sammy. I was very disappointed by this dishonest behavior. The front desk staff at this hotel are excellent, so it is unfortunate that this experience in the restaurant left such a negative impression. I visited this hotel as part of a preliminary inspection for a group tour. However, since there is a staff member who would casually lie to guests, I cannot guide my group to a hotel with such dishonest service. Therefore, I have decided not to include this hotel in our tour plans.

โรงแรมมีซุปเปอร์ขาย ฉันจัดให้ไปโรงแรมอื่นชั่วคราวและกลับมาที่โรงแรมในเช้าวันรุ่งขึ้น แต่ทั้งสองโรงแรมไม่มีน้ําร้อนและทําเลไม่สะดวก แต่ทิวทัศน์สวยงามและทัศนคติการบริการก็อบอุ่น

Hotel runs on a conscious budget as they do not supply basic amentities to guest. There are no tooth brushes, bedroom slippers, floor mats and bottled water. I noticed hotels in Sri Lanka do not stock the room with these items unless Guest ask for it. This is lacking in good hospitality. My room TV was not working. Location is okay and near to the city centre.

โรงแรมดีมาก ไม่ไกลจากใจกลางเมืองแคนดี้เลย วันหนึ่งเราเดินเข้าไปในเมืองโดยใช้ถนนสองเลนที่คดเคี้ยว สระว่ายน้ำสวยมาก มีห้องออกกำลังกาย และสปาหากต้องการนวด บรรยากาศเงียบสงบ มีวิวธรรมชาติสวยงาม และมีบาร์เล็กๆ ที่เสิร์ฟค็อกเทลคุณภาพดี ถ้าคุณจะไปแคนดี้และไม่รังเกียจที่จะพักอยู่นอกเมืองสักหน่อย ที่นี่เป็นตัวเลือกที่ดีมาก อยากจะลงรูปเพิ่มเติม แต่เว็บไซต์จำกัดขนาด และการย่อรูปก็ยุ่งยากมาก เลยต้องมาโพสต์ที่นี่

Room is spacious, have all amenities and toiletries (just missing the slippers). It have heater instead of air conditioner as there is mostly cold here. Centralized control system is a plus. Washroom is comparatively much smaller and just the basic size. Cons: The main thing was the management which was poor and mostly looked after only locals as we came to know by our driver. At check in the room key didn't worked 3 time and they have to call some technical guy to resolve the issue which was actually the issue in room door, still they gave us the same room. When we go to food court for breakfast in morning, it was only 4 set items only which also they decide they want to give or not. For every request it was a no even when we are willing to pay extra for the same. For the meal we had we asked extra sambhar they deny they can't give. We asked for sandwich or any breads which was also unavailable. But after sometime, they give sandwich to some other persons. When we confronted them, they told it is in different meal, we asked to give only sandwich they outright denied, when we said give meal they say come after 11. After complaining and telling at the reception his response was mostly defending and at last only told you can discuss with senior manager. It was our time to leave the city as per our itinerary so we left the place as it is.

Заезжали на одну ночь, встретили очень радужно. Кругом джунгли и отличный вид. Бассейн с проточной горной водой.Птицы поют, дикие обезьяны развлекают, очень круто!

Absolutely stunning, giant compound with an extensive history! They even offer a history walking tour but unfortunately there weren’t enough people signed up to make the tour happen. If you’re looking for a “colonial” stay, this is a great place. I recommend just walking around to see it for yourself. It’s also right on Kandy Lake, so it’s a nice walk (and not too far from the Kandyan Culture Center and the Sacred Tooth Temple Meals were good, but service sometimes is a little messy. Buffet was missing things like tongs or a cloth over the tray handles (which were hot to touch), but there’s a lot of servers walking around so I’m sure they’ll be able to do double-checks on this

โรงแรมนี้อยู่บนยอดเขา วิวดีมาก สิ่งแวดล้อมโอเค ตัวอาคารโดดเด่นมาก รวมถึงการตกแต่งห้อง แต่ที่แย่ที่สุดคือสุขอนามัยน่าเป็นห่วง ประตูค่อนข้างเก่า ตู้เย็นสกปรก ลงมือไม่ได้ มีคราบปัสสาวะใต้ที่นั่งชักโครก มีขนบนเตียง เตียงเป็นเตียงสองเตียง นอนไม่สบาย ผ้าห่มเป็นผ้าปูที่นอน และแรงเกินไปที่จะดึงออกมาได้ นอนไม่สบายมาก โชคดีที่มีผ้าห่มในตู้ให้คลุม เกี่ยวกับอาหารก็ไม่อร่อย

Hotel was prepared and ready for my arrival. Had issues with connection to wifi so had to contact the reception. No hairdryer in room and had to request this even though it should’ve been there already. Ordered room service, it came cold and items forgotten from order even though order was repeated back to me on the phone. Breakfast was average for a Radisson. Seating options strange with big long tables reserved for groups rather than small families, couples and singles. Tuktuk touts waiting outside hotel to pester you for your destination. It was clean for the most part and well needed after a long day of travel but I wouldn’t return. Not sure how this hotel is #1 in Kandy but I was left feeling disappointed.
