pretty good place to stay as it's pretty close to the tram and it's located in the centre of town. there was only one elevator for this specific branch so it could get a bit annoying. there's also no coin laundry service but there's one located just right beside but it's pretty costly.
DDohadotongOur Third Visit to Ibusuki Royal Hotel – A Perfect Family Getaway
This was our third stay at the Ibusuki Royal Hotel. On our previous family trips, we stayed next door at the Iwasaki Hotel, which is now unfortunately closed. The Royal Hotel is beautifully situated right by the seaside, offering stunning views of Mount Kaimon from the side — the scenery is simply breathtaking.
Although the facilities are a bit dated, everything is immaculately clean, and the staff are exceptionally kind and attentive, making our stay truly enjoyable. The spacious guest rooms and relaxing atmosphere reflect the charm of a seaside resort.
The hot spring baths, including the open-air onsen, were the perfect way to unwind at the end of the day. The breakfast buffet was also impressive — the quality and variety exceeded our expectations, and our whole family was delighted.
Another plus is the hotel’s convenient location — within a 10-minute walk you’ll find the Daiei Shopping Mall, where you can easily pick up local foods and souvenirs.
If you rise early, I highly recommend taking a morning stroll along the beach in front of the hotel. It feels like stepping into a scene from a movie — a peaceful and beautiful start to the day.
If you’re planning a family trip, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. We visited by rental car from Kagoshima, but it seems that a shuttle service from JR Ibusuki Station is also available.
A truly wonderful stay — we look forward to returning again!
ผผู้เข้าพักEnvironment: The hotel boasts an excellent environment, particularly with the in-room rotenburo (open-air bath). The private dining room adds to the exclusive feel. Its location within a quiet community ensures a peaceful and relaxing stay.
Staff: A significant advantage for international travelers is the availability of English-speaking staff. Their willingness to communicate through messaging apps makes pre-arrival arrangements and on-site communication smooth and efficient.
Transportation: Direct airport bus service to a nearby bus stop offers convenient access to the hotel. However, it's important to check the bus schedule in advance, as departures are infrequent. Planning accordingly will ensure a hassle-free transfer.
Location: The hotel's location provides the convenience of being close to a convenience store, just a short five-minute walk away. This makes it easy to pick up any necessities or snacks.
Pricing: The pricing is reasonable, especially when considering the exceptional amenities included. The private rotenburo is a luxurious highlight, and the inclusion of both a fabulous breakfast and an elaborate, multi-course dinner (12+ courses) represents excellent value.
ผผู้เข้าพักEach lodge is very spacious with a nice, high ceiling, all in bare wood and containing all the essentials: A nice kettle, a good fridge (silent), a TV set, and also a sofa. The ensuite bathroom, shower and toilet is clean and very nice. There are mosquito screens on the windows and the outside areas are nicely landscaped. The restaurant area is a joy, really lovely. Uninterrupted views of the sea and the beach, which is a 3 minute walk away, through the extensive grounds.
I was especially pleased to be picked up and dropped off at the airport and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. There were no language issues at all.
Given all factors, I do not hesitate to give 5/5 stars, however, I am extremely particular about food, and the restaurant suffers from the the common issue of re-using the frying oil ad infinitum. Overall, food quality was ”OK”, but not great. However, the exceptional location, and all other aspects of the accommodation, mean that one can still enjoy a perfect beer in a perfect location and not care too much about the cuisine.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe hotel is right at the waterside and a new athletics park. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The food is very nice although the restaurant is missing some character. For a 3 star hotel there is plenty of amenities. Also good parking right in front of the hotel. Visitors are mostly elderly Japanese, few tourists from abroad. At the breakfast start, which is 06:30, the buffet was pretty overwhelmed and a bit understaffed. Maybe the buffet should be more spreads over the room. I would def recommend the hot. Yes
