TthesiblingFirst of all, this is my second time in zhangjiajie, and this service was the best. The lady from the reception helped us book all tickets to the national park and the tianmen mountain and even took the time to plan a custom itinerary with us. This was the best service I've seen so far. She is also always available on WeChat if questions during our stay arose.
The room was really spacious and clean. Unfortunately the door lock didn't work, but you can open it only with the room card anyway. The room was cleaned everyday and bed sheets were made too. We also got fresh water bottles daily (high quality ones). The room features a tea set including dried tee to make traditional gongfu tea, which was awesome.
During the night, if you are a light sleeper, better get some ear protection since the street in front of the hotel can be loud at times. But the bed was really comfortable.
The bathroom was really big. I loved the rain shower and the big bathtub. The tap of the tub was damaged which was a little inconvenient. The room also features coat hangers to dry clothes, since the hotel also provides a laundry room with clean and powerful washing machines (which saved us honestly haha). The rain shower is amazing, the temperature was also great. A little downside was that the shower gel was empty, which can easily be requested for refills (we used our own). Apart from that we got vanity kits, tooth brush kits and so on.
The hotel's location is amazing. To the tianmen cable car it's a 5 min Didi ride (2 km). To the national park it's 30 min by Didi. There are many restaurants and shops, a pharmacy and supermarket in the vicinity (5 min by foot). And each time we returned, they treated us to tea!
I can really recommend this stay and will definitely book it again when I come to zhangjiajie again.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe location is perfectly situated at only a 10 minute walk away from the Tianmen Mount cable car station, making it a perfect choice if you are only in Zhangjiajie for the mount. It's in a quiet neighbourhood with a traditional feel, yet within walking distance to a supermarket and a multitude of eateries. The cable car passes overhead, but it's not loud or bothersome. It's rather quaint, to be honest.
The owners are a lovely couple, who helped us get cheaper tickets as well as offering us some grapefruit on the night we got back from our long day at Tianamen.
If you don't like hard beds, though, you may find it uncomfortable! I am very accustomed to Asian beds and I quite like a firm bed, but this was super hard. So hard that I had to put the doona on one of the two double beds (we luckily had two double beds in our room) underneath us on the other double bed, which somewhat saved us. We still found it very hard though. The linen and towels were comfortable and clean.
I found that in some areas it could have been cleaner: the toilet brush, mirror, glass, toothbrush cups and shower shoes were not that clean. The bathroom sink plug was full of hair and built up dirt inside, which I had to clean before I used. The bathroom in general had mould in some areas, and along with the glass shower screen could do with a good scrub.
A few improvements would make a great difference. OK for a couple of nights.
The photos in the listing make the rooms look larger, brighter and newer than they actually are.
And finally ... the bane of my existence with Chinese accommodation ... even if the room is smoke free, especially in the budget range, it's not always 100% void of the smell of smoke. As a non smoker I even find an ashtray in my room disgusting.
