Frederic Carrion Hotel et Spa

Very hard to rate this hotel as it was good but the issue I have with it was value for money. The quality and service were fine and we did enjoy our stay but just felt everything was priced to the max, except the wine which was astronomical. Few choices of wine and some from across the road which had enormous marks ups.We had dinner on New Year's Eve and felt it lacked atmosphere and effort to bring it to life. A once only experience.

Amazing small luxury Hotel with big cozy rooms, a Spa with a Jacuzzi, and a formal gourmet Restaurant. The Duck is a must. Very kind service by the owner. Outstanding Breakfast, good wines. Dog friendly, We will come back

A four star hotel? What a joke. The experience begins from the ”reception”. A messy table with a messy guy in a bit dirty jeans and in a wrinkeled t-shirt. He takes us to the elevator to show our room. The elevator is dirty and noisy… we are starting to get a bit worried about our ”delux room”. The hotel guy takes us to our room, which is amazing… but not in a good way. The interior is more kitsch than Trump could design in his wildest dreams. The room was supposed to have a view to a wineyards… but no, no views. I bring this up and then he takes us to another room and says that this is the best they’ve got. The room is again kitsch, but in another way. Can’t really describe the vibe, it was from the 70’s. And the view? To the backyards of neighbours, and if you raise to your toes you could barely see something green… We felt betrayed and we left, couldn’t sleep a night on that place.

Charming hotel in village centre. Warm welcome. Lovely large comfortable junior suite. Spectacular dinner by chef Frederick served on the terrace. We had the Inspiration menu and it did not disappoint. Breakfast for a king! Frederic was an impeccable host, we thank you and hope to return.

We stopped off here on our way back from the Alps. We left on the Friday as opposed to 'change-over Saturday' to get a head start on the journey back. We arrived circa 21:00 hrs and were met by very friendly staff. They poured us both the most enormous glasses of white Burgundy and despite my appalling 'GCSE level French, were very helpful. The hotel is lovely with very modern but very comfortable rooms. Our room was an inter-connecting room with our two daughters' room and overlooked the square. The setting is so perfectly French with a patisserie, boulangerie and supermarche just across from the hotel. Very, very, very pleasant stay and would have loved to have stayed longer. We didn't have supper but I understand the restaurant is pretty special too. I hope I can find a reason to visit again.

M Carrion and his wife run this beautiful small hotel in the quiet burgundy village of Viré; in the heart of the Maconnais vineyards. Very friendly hotel with a wonderful gourmet restaurant. The sort of place that you think no longer exists. The sort of place that you might expect Rick Stein to drop into and rave about. Close to the autoroute and an ideal break for travellers from the south of France. Highly recommended.

Very friendly service with strong 'family atmosphre'. Food very original and delicious. Will stay here again.

Il existe encore en France, des hôtels qui offrent ce que l'hôtellerie française a d'inégalé : Une taille humaine, familiale, des chambres au charme fou, une cuisine d'excellence et des services de grande qualité (sauna et massages). Certes, tout ceci a un prix, plutôt élevé certes, mais dans le cas de l'Hôtel Frédéric Carrion, les tarifs pratiqués sont en rapport avec le niveau proposé. 1°/ En effet, l'hôtel est admirablement bien décoré, avec un goût certain du "beau" et du bien être. Vos yeux s'arrêteront souvent sur des objets, des coins "ambiancés" avec classe. Les chambres sont spacieuses, propres et calmes. Elles dégagent un charme immédiat et assez inattendus. 2°/ La cuisine est très raffinée. Les mets proposés explosent en bouche et marient des saveurs inédites qui s'allient parfaitement avec le vin proposé. Le service est réalisé avec le sourire et une grande attention au bien être des hôtes. Oui, les tarifs de la carte des vins peuvent surprendre, voir choquer certains clients ( de 71 € à ... 600 €) mais le choix est clairement de proposer ce qu'il y a de meilleur dans ce registre, au risque de faire une folie pour les bourses bien remplies !?! 3°/ Le sauna privatif est propre et très agréable. La maîtresse de maison est aux petits soins pour faire de ce moment un instant d'exception, une bulle de douceurs et d'intimité. 4°/ Les massages sont réalisés avec professionalisme et efficacité. Le petit bémol, à ce sujet, concerne le lieu qui mériterait d'être plus cosy dans un établissement de ce standing. Frédéric Carrion et son épouse ont incontestablement fait de cette ancienne demeure un bel endroit où il vraiment très agréable de se restaurer, dormir et se relaxer. Il est rare de trouver sur un même établissement autant de services de cette qualité. On ne peut que se réjouir de voir se perpétrer, au travers de leur établissement, l'excellence de l'art de vivre à la française !

Superbe ! L accueil la chambre le repas le spa un véritable séjour de détente un petit déjeuner de grande qualité ! Un chef passionné present et attentif ! Situé au cœur du village (de très bons conseils pour les vignerons aux alentours)
