The hotel had a variety of events taking place during the day e.g. foam party at the pool, Zumba dancing etc. There was a variety of food dishes and the waiters were fantastic ensuring you were looked after. The hotel was assessable in all areas for wheelchair users. Brilliant location by the beach.

I feel there is a few things to note on this resort. First the grounds are beautiful! Well maintained and beautifully designed. The Spa and staff are absolutely amazing. Truly my husband and I had the best massages of our lives. The food at the Seafood restaurant was beyond offal of 4 people no one finished anything or even ate more than a bite of anything but desert. The remaining meals were good. Katok and Tortuga was very good. The buffet at the main lobby has great selection. The snack bar was offal. However, the staff there was great during the day. I feel our room was good in the Adult only portion of the resort but the room my in-laws got with the Ocean view left a bit to be desired. It smelled of Mildew and actually had mold in the tub. The staff however was very quick to respond to concerns. Our AC was not working well and was fixed within two hours. Overall I say the resort was nice. I would not say 5 star but nice the staff really was great.

We had a great time, the facilities were amazing, and the staff couldn't be better if they tried; they were so friendly and hard-working.
We weren't expecting the food or shows to be as good as they were, but they really were amazing - kudos to all the teams.
The only things that could have been improved were small updates to our room to make it a little more modern, it felt a little dated and some improvements in the app they use for many things at the hotel.
Would recommend to all our friends to go!

Food wasn't very good. You'll probably have the worst sleeps because you can hear everything and everyone around you. Rooms smell like mold.

We enjoyed our stay overall but had a couple small issues. We constantly had mosquitoes in our rooms on the main floor. Second floor room didn’t have the same problem. Also, the a la carte system is frustrating as it is pretty much necessary to book them before you arrive if you want specific restaurants. Otherwise, you have to constantly check for same day availability.

We really enjoyed our stay at Akumal and would recommend it to friends and family. The rooms are beginning to show their age but the grounds, food at the buffet and al a cart restaurants and entertainment were amazing. We loved the infinity pool and beach lounge chairs at the beach.
