OOlalamattyThis was a trip with my wife in Melbourne for a few days before we head off to Tassie. We stayed at the loft room (note the loft bedrooms are located on lower floors, ours was on 2nd floor). On the arrival day, while we were off loading our luggages from our car (there were a few bags as we had just gone to a vineyard and had purchased 4 bottles), the 2 guards at the back door entrance, whom have clearly saw us, but didn’t assist with the luggage, nor inform the front desk to assist us. We ended up carrying the multiple luggages (along with the 4 wine bottles) while the guards watched. On the second day, the guards were friendly - they assisted with doors and greeted us. On cleanliness, after first night, our toothpaste was empty but cleaning staff did not replace with a new set, but overall room was clean to basic standard. However, our room had a bit of odd well on second night (first night was fine) not sure what the issue was but it did smell like kitchen cooking smell (we didn’t cook there). Breakfast was of good value and the staff working there were friendly and very responsive, I would probably say that the best experience was our breakfast thought out our stay there.
ผผู้เข้าพักThe front desk staff were friendly and helpful, which I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall experience was significantly let down by very poor housekeeping, which is disappointing for a new high-end hotel.
Upon check-in, there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. After investigating, we realised it was caused by housekeeping placing items such as the tissue box directly on the wet sink without drying it properly after cleaning, which resulted in a musty smell.
In addition, a friend staying in another room found that the coffee cup had not been replaced at all, and there were still coffee residues left inside, which is unacceptable.
The following day, after room service, even basic items such as tissues were not replenished.
To make matters worse, after checkout we were charged for mini bar usage, despite the fact that we did not touch the mini bar at all. This unexplained charge further added to the frustration.
For a newly opened luxury hotel, the housekeeping management and quality control are far below expectations. This stay did not reflect the standard one would expect at this level.
ผผู้เข้าพักWe had a fantastic stay at the Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands. Everything about our experience was wonderful.
The highlight for us was definitely the pool. The water temperature was perfect—not too hot and not too cold—and our kids absolutely loved it. In fact, they didn’t want to get out! The view from the pool area was also amazing and made the experience even more special.
Breakfast was great with plenty of options, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. They made us feel very welcome and well looked after.
We will definitely stay here again in the future and have already recommended the hotel to our family and friends. A truly enjoyable stay!
