"Had an amazing stay at Residence Inn! The rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds (its on the softer side so you really sink in), perfect for a good night’s rest after a full day of exploring. Most of Calgary’s main attractions are within walking distance, which made getting around super convenient. The hotel also offers self-service laundry, which was a big plus. Washing and drying cost only CAD 3 each, which is very reasonable compared to other places we’ve stayed. Laundry sheets/powder are also available for CAD 4 in the lobby's shop.
Parking isn’t free, but that’s expected downtown. You can choose valet service or park in the next building for CAD 30 per night. If you prefer, there’s also street parking and several parkades nearby - both street-level and underground.
Overall, highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Calgary!"
"Nice hotel, it’s my second stay, but the facilities are not quite as well maintained as I expected. Overall still a pleasant experience, though there’s room for improvement."
"Good location, LRT (City Hall) and supermarket are just nearby.
Room is spacious but the air ventilation is quite noisy.
The worst was the water kettle was very dirty (seems some milky layer inside 🤮 )but no instant replacement could be provided until next day. In
It made us very disappointed."
"The receptionist was very cheerful and the room was very clean! It is also located conveniently in Downtown Calgary. However, the temperature of the shower can be a bit tricky to adjust as it will either be too hot or too cold. But I was very satisfied overall and would recommend this hotel to fellow solo travellers!"
"Good location, however in the faucet everytime you switch to hot or cold water something yellow spits out every couple seconds. There was a mini bar and we did not touch it yet still got charged for a peach water which I did not use and when I phoned once I got the bill they told me that because it was in my room I was charged regardless if it was touched by us or not. My partner and I did not drink anything from there and no one was in our room. Otherwise good location for going out in the downtown and very comfortable beds"
"Not our first time staying here -but we left with a sense of frustration today!
It began when the front desk couldn’t find our reservation - twice ! (despite a phone call 2 hours prior to check in). Had to take my driver’s licence and go “somewhere to talk to someone in the back” - then he came back (after 2 or so
minutes) and “magically” the reservation had been found. Unnerving for my identification to disappear from my sight. No explanation offered.
Frustrated again at check out when the desk clerk tried to charge us for something from the snack bar in our room - we had literally left our room 2 minutes before. Couldn’t tell us what item we had “consumed” (we hadn’t consumed anything - especially at those prices!) and then when asked how they could possibly know within 2 minutes (of us leaving our room) that an item had been consumed - they became very defensive and couldn’t actually answer the question of “how do you know what to charge us for” and the response was “it’s for the report at the end of the day - no one is saying you actually took anything”. Except that’s exactly what the desk clerk said the charge was going to be for - “an item from the snack bar for a total of $4.20”.
After challenging the charge we were told that no charge would be put through on the credit card.
Made to feel like we had “stolen” something when we asked for further clarification on the charge.
“No apologies or thank you for staying with us”.
Disappointing.
Side note - Service in the ****** was great - including the restaurant."
