Le Saint Gervais Hotel & Spa Handwritten Collection

Although we own an apartment in beautiful Saint Gervais, it is currently undergoing refurbishment, and so, on two occasions recently, once with friends and once with my husband (and Max the dog) we’ve chosen to stay at the lovely new Le Saint Gervais Hotel and Spa. Saint Gervais has several hotel options, but none with quite this luxury or quite so modern. Given its location so close to the start of the village (and close to the new télécabine from Le Fayet which has been announced), it is very well placed to capture tourists, and as it is open all year round, both in the summer and winter seasons. There is so much to like about the hotel. It is spotlessly clean; rooms have balconies overlooking the mountains and the town; and the staff are friendly and attentive. The barman Louison deserves a special mention here, showing genuine warmth, welcoming our dog to the hotel, and attempting cocktails “off menu”. The restaurant is not due to open until August this year and so, as others have mentioned, breakfast is currently being served in a function room somewhat devoid of atmosphere. Breakfast itself is ok. Nothing to particularly criticise, nor get excited about either. The vacuum flasks of coffee are awful however!! I hope that once the restaurant is complete that the breakfast offering improves with perhaps coffee, omelettes etc served to order too. Rooms are air conditioned (which was a blessing the weekend we stayed) with fast and efficient wifi throughout the hotel. The spa area is small, and I think the hotel really missed the opportunity for an outside jacuzzi. Aside from a small outdoor pool and some loungers, there isn’t much to report outside. Overall, we loved our time at the hotel, and will be sure to return for drinks, meals, or special occasions even once our own apartment is complete. Thanks everyone!!

went with 6 people for supper on December 30th. It took 30 minutes to get a menu and another 15 to get a drink. Having asked for some bread 3 times, I got up and got my own. The 'tapas' starters were of variable quality and the main course was simply a choice of PIZZA!! is that all that is available in a brand new 5 star hotel - imagine staying there for a week and having to have pizza every night. The ambiance was also more like a service station that a posh restaurant - lot's of work to do before this will get a return visit....real shame 'cos the rest of the hotel looks lovely.

It is grossly understaffed and service doesn’t match quality of property. On arrival I waited at at empty reception for about 15 mins - no staff anywhere. Then didn’t get the room I had booked and 24 hours later there is still no sign of the sofa bed that was supposed to be there for my 10 year old arriving this evening. I have now asked for a 4th time - 3 different members of reception staff. I went to the lovely looking Avanti restaurant last night to be met (eventually after being ignored in a queue for about 10 mins) by a very rude restaurant manager (?) who waved me in the general direction of a table. I was then left for a further 10 mins with no menu. I had to interrupt a member of staff (all of which ignored me) only then to be told by the manager (?) that the restaurant was full (it certainly wasn’t!!) and it would be 50 minutes for food after ordering. I got up & left. I enjoyed a pizza from the local take out and won’t be returning to Avanti! One of my worst experiences in a long time!! Had a massage today though and that was excellent. Ambiance not great unless you think hearing people in the pool over the relaxing massage music is positive! You couldn’t write it!😂

Room was tiny. Spa was a little disappointing. But the biggest issue is we were served breakfast each day of our stay but not told we would be charged 42 euros per day for it until we were checking out and the hotel refused to budge on the additional expense even though we were never made aware ther breakfast was not included / an additional quite high fee. Very cheap and underhanded move by a supposed four star hotel.

Nicely designed hotel. The location is wonderful as its close to the Mont Blanc and other places for sightseeing. The staff was OK but nothing special. The staff at breakfast seemed moody and not happy to do their work, breakfast itself was sufficient. Spa was small but good. Room was very good and spacious because of the (platinum) upgrade. However the room does not have a mini fridge which I thought was odd. What I also found strange was that there was no welcome gift for me as a Platinum member. Just a card and bottle of water… even an IBIS provides better welcome gifts. Besides that, the stay was good and the price-quality excellent.

We are glad that we chose this hotel, a beautiful Building that has been sympathetically renovated inside and out, and extended. Excellent value for money, rooms are nicely decorated and well appointed. The spa and outside pool was a great addition to our stay. Staff very nice and helpful, the barman was excellent . Breakfast had everything you could want. Lovely touch of a complimentary ticket for the Tramway du Mont Blanc on check in which saved us 34€! Plenty of underground parking but narrow spaces and plenty of concrete pillars! We will be back

An absolutely wonderful place - every single staff member was exceptional which is very rare these days! Perfect location, spotlessly clean and amazing pizza in the restaurant. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful, quiet, trendy, clean and brand new hotel. Great buffet breakfast. Nice staff. I highly recommend it.
