Amazing stay...felt like I had a home in Delhi! Staffs were welcoming and did a great job at the welcome desk or breakfast time! Enjoyed the whole breakfast experience. It was simple home like breakfast experience, specially for someone who isn't a breakfast buffet fan! Love the whole concept! This place would be ideal for solo travelers of anyone looking for a peaceful stay. Peaceful location and neighbourhood! Alot of shopping areas are close by and easy to get around!

We have been coming to the Colonels Retreat for ***y years and it is always wonderful to return. feels almost like family. The hotel is unpretentious, but completely comfortable and the people from the welcoming at the little kiosk on the street to the charming staff and the rooftop restaurant are delightful. We will come back here every time we are in New Delhi.

What a cool haveli down a leafy side street. Decent sized rooms on each for the four floors leading on to a large comfortable communal lounge. On the roof is a lovely restaurant serving probably the best breakfast we had on our three week tour of Rajasthan. Dinner was great too. Service tip top.

A great alternative to the international hotel! This friendly guest house is an oasis of calm in the midst of Delhi. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, the food is varied and delicious. Most importantly, nothing is too much trouble

This is a lovely hotel, situated in a secluded quiet area of Delhi. Our room was tastefully decorated with all you come to expect from a higher quality hotel. This hotel is family run and it was lovely to meet the owner at breakfast. The roof terrace is exceptional and both breakfast and evening meals were wonderful. The banana bread is delicious and we even got given some more for our onward journey. I would recommend this hotel as an alternative to any of the ‘luxury’ chains nearby.

This was our fist time visiting India, and our first hotel of the trip - and what a great find! This place had everything we could have asked for - starting with the location. Walking distance to the amazing Delhi metro - yet very isolated on a nice quiet street away from the chaos. The service and food were both exceptional. Meals on the rooftop surrounded by greenery and birds singing was wonderful - and not at all what we had expected being in the city. The owner came to greet the guests at breakfast and gave us some great tips for sightseeing. As mentioned in other reviews, the elevator does not go to the rooftop terrace, but there are options to eat elsewhere at the hotel if needed. If we ever go back we will 100% go back to this hotel. All in all the perfect start to an amazing trip!

My travel companion could not join me but I felt safe in this small and quiet hotel. It’s in a good area but close to the metro. Breakfast and dinner was excellent. The staff are nice , rooms clean and welcoming. There is a lift but you do need to be able to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the roof top restaurant.

My second stay at Colonel's Retreat was great just like my first visit! The staff works diligently to assure customer satisfaction. One of the reasons is because of individuals like Victor and Naveen. They work tirelessly to make sure every customer's particular request is filled. That is because Colonel's Retreat is not a huge hotel with hundreds of guests. It is in two locations near each other. The staff makes sure the atmosphere is charming. I noticed that several couples have been coming back to Colonel's Retreat ***y times. I am one who will do the same. Give Colonel's Retreat a try. You too, will be writing a review like this one!

We stayed 3 nights here and were made so welcome by Su*** and her team. The breakfast and evening meals on the rooftop terrace were excellent and a lovely opportunity to meet other guests. Location was excellent with easy access to the metro station. Paula & Mike
