As a Marriott Titanium / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, our family [husband, wife and two young daughters] decided to visit Madrid, Spain to start our month-long 2023 summer vacation in Europe. We spent five (5) nights at Westin Palace Madrid using our Bonvoy points in late May / early June 2023. Please see the thirty-eight (38) photos we posted with this review of all aspects of the hotel. Within days after making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points approximately ten (10) months prior to our arrival date, we emailed General Manager, Pablo Flores and advised him of our future stay as well as our special requests, including our request for an Executive Suite, which would comfortably host our family of four. Within hours of our email, we received a thoughtful reply Paloma Hidalgo, Director of Rooms, whom immediately provided us with a complimentary guaranteed upgrade to an Executive Suite and further, Ms. Hidalgo readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response did not come as a surprise to us given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is but a mere sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Westin Palace Madrid. This gorgeous historic hotel is magnificently located in Madrid overlooking the Neptune Fountain and less than a three minute walk to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, less than a five minute walk to the Prado Museum and less than a ten minute walk to the Reina Sofia Museum. It is also extremely close to Retiro Park and is within an easy 15 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Gran Via as well as many bars, restaurant, trendy cafés, market and other cultural attractions. You can easily walk everywhere throughout the entire city but public transportation options abound in close proximity to the hotel as well. Our initial visit to the Westin Palace Madrid did not disappoint, especially when the hotel accommodated our extremely early check-in (before 9:00 am). The check-in process with Ms. Hidalgo, Estefanía Martinez, Front Office Assistant Manager and Juan at the reception desk was a breeze. Further, Ms. Martinez was kind enough to personally escort us to our suite and show us all of the features and amenities of same. This was very thoughtful on the part of Ms. Martinez and very much appreciated. Throughout our entire five (5) night stay, Ms. Hidalgo and Ms. Martinez were especially helpful and friendly. We simply loved our Palace Executive Suite with slightly over 1,000 square feet in total space with a sublime view of the Neptune Fountain; it was truly remarkable. Hidden down a quiet backstreet in central Madrid, this long-established hotel has been recently refurbished with great taste and charm. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for them. It was the best Concierge service we have ever received, the cleaners stoppped to engage our granddaughter, who has just started learning Spanish. and the Reception staff always made it a pleasaure to return from our outings. Breakfasts were superb, with an excellent choice, including a great array of fresh Spanish fruit. Altogether, this was a very special experience for us, and among the top few for guest relations of more than eighty Leading Hotels of the Worls in which we have stayed.

I'm probably bring slightly generous in my rating as this is a good hotel but not very good. However, I think it would be unfair to rate it as average which is the next rating scale on TripAdvisor. It's very conveniently located if you're coming into the main railway station and is a short walk away and there is an elevator to street level from the station if you have heavy suitcases. It's also a short walk to the Prado and the Reine Sofia but about a 30 minute walk up to Plaza Mayor. The rooms are comfortable and new. They're not very big but for a short stay they're adequate. The bathroom is of a fair size and the amenities in the room are good. They have breakfast at the hotel but we didn't use it so I can't comment.

We spent one week in late April 2023 at the Doubletree Madrid Prado on the first leg of a four week visit to Spain. We were attracted to the hotel because of its location, modest size and many positive reviews. Our expectations were high and they were exceeded! We were warmly greeted and efficiently checked in on arrival. Because we were staying for seven nights, we had booked a King Superior room and were assigned room 301 which was spacious, well furnished and full of light and we were very comfortable there. Perhaps due to its size (only about sixty rooms over five floors), its understated lobby and its exceptional level of service, the hotel has an intimacy that that we found very appealing. The location in the upscale Las Letras district was perfect for us as walkers: very near the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen museums and within walking distance of Retiro Park, the boutiques of Calle Serrano and even the Royal Palace and Atocha Station. With the help of the front desk staff (especially Cristina) we found some great restaurants (of which our favourite was Vinoteca Moratin, reviewed separately) and tapas bars within five to ten minutes walk from the hotel. Because of our Hilton status we enjoyed a generous and graciously and efficiently served continental breakfast (excellent coffee, juices, fresh fruit, toast and assorted pastries) every morning; if we were to make one suggestion about breakfast, it would be to add a protein (yogurt or cheese or a selection of meats) to the continental buffet. Overall, we were delighted with our stay at the Doubletree Madrid Prado and we would stay there again if we return to Madrid. We recommend it without reservation to anyone looking for a well-located, upscale but understated, unpretentious and reasonably priced hotel in Madrid.

Good location in the city centre. Private room with bathroom was a good size and we got a little terrace ansd sofa. We got it at a very good price comparing to other hotels in Madrid. Plenty restuarants all around. Close to the metro. They have a little bar downstairs with 2 for 1 drinks if you are a guest and show them your key. There was only one flat pillow per guest so sleeping wasnt very comfortable. Mattress could be better as we could feel the springs.

We had a fantastic stay at the Suite Prado Hotel in Madrid for three nights. The hotel is a beautiful and cozy boutique hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. It’s in a great location so you can walk to everything and close to the metro and train station for day trips from Madrid or high speed trains to other cities. Lots of excellent dining nearby. Looking forward to our next visit!
