"避雷 Usually, I leave positive reviews for hotels, but unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience staying at Be Mate CityLife in Milan. From the moment we entered the apartment, there was a strong unpleasant smell, similar to mould, coming from the bedrooms. The odor was noticeable throughout the stay and made the apartment very uncomfortable. Even the housekeeping team acknowledged the smell. However, on the day of check-out, the hotel denied all feedback regarding the issue. We reported the matter immediately to both the hotel and Trip.com. More seriously, I injured myself on the bathroom door handle within just a couple of hours of arriving, due to sharp handle and the narrow passage space. Instead of showing genuine concern or taking responsibility, the hotel’s response was extremely disappointing. They stated that the door was “designed in a way that it can swing back and forth” and suggested that the incident was due to not knowing “how to properly use it.” In fact, I had not even touched the door when the injury occurred. I found this response inappropriate and dismissive toward a guest who was injured on their property. On the other hand, Trip.com handled the situation professionally and showed genuine human care throughout the process, which I sincerely appreciated. Unfortunately, due to the hygiene issue, unpleasant smell, and the hotel’s attitude toward customer safety and feedback, I would not recommend staying here."
