A nice hostel to settle down in for a few nights! Very helpful staff and good social area.

AVOID. Would rate 0. The receptionist is very rude. The water supply was cut off over night leaving 3 of us ( with food poisoning ) unable to shower, clean our teeth, wash our hands or flush the toilet. While I understand the food poisoning is not any of the staff’s fault, when we approached the receptionist with the issue she laughed in our face and told use we should have booked a private room, which is ironic as there would be no water supply there either. The water supply cut off at 9pm and was still not working at 12pm the next day. We had to leave early due such an inconvenience. Would not recommend at all, the rudest staff. The toilet area smelt revolting as people were just using the toilet like ourselves with no flush option available. Inhumane conditions for all regardless of the food poisoning. The toilets were over flowing with poo and sick which was left over night. Worst hostel conditions I’ve seen in the whole of south east Asia

DO NOT STAY - THE WORST HOSTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. We checked in after one of our group had been hospitalised for food poisoning, which the staff were aware of. It was fine until about 9pm when the water stopped working. We had no running water all night, and the rest of our group had developed food poisoning, the toilets wouldn’t flush, we couldn’t wash our hands. The hostel was inhumane. This seems to be a regular issue aswell (there are reviews on hostel world to prove it) We went down in the morning to let the receptionist know we were unhappy, to which she responded in the rudest way possible. She has a major attitude problem and could seriously do with some lessons in manners and humanity. She told us that we should leave if we are unhappy, and we shouldn’t have booked it if we were ill (which we developed overnight) If I could give 0 stars I would. The conditions were inhumane and the toilets were overflowing with poo and sick. She wouldn’t even leave the air con on for an hour when we were throwing up

We spend 5 nights here, and if we wouldn’t have to move on, we would easily add some other nights. By far the best hostel I experienced in Thailand. To start with the rooms. The beds are comfortable and big, there is much space to store you stuff and there is a huge guarantee for privacy. Moreover the rooms are clean and quiet. The sanitaries offer much space, they are very modern and clean. There are many soaps, shampoos etc. for free! The staff is so friendly and helped us with every request, like bookings, scooters, tips for the island etc. They offer free breakfast, which is a very good breakfast with scrambled/fried eggs, fresh fruits, toast, coffee, juice and tea. Never been to a hostel where they offer such a good breakfast. Moreover this place makes it very easy to socialise and meet new people in the lobby. It’s located direct to the beach and by just a little walk or scooters you can go everywhere. Everybody coming to Ko Lanta and looking for a place, come to Hub of Joys. I promise you won’t regret it.

I had a great stay. The (free) breakfast was good, the affordable dinner is also nice for when you dont feel like going out. They could fix any tour for you within 5 minutes and we even got a ride to the nightmarket from the owner when he overheard us talking about going there. The facilities are fine. I slept great. Since it's not a party hostel (but also not boring, mind you) you won't get waken up as much by others (if at all). All in all it's a steal for this price. Even if you don't have a lot of interest in meeting other people this hostel could easily work for you.

The stay at Hub of Joys was very nice and pleasant. The hostel is comfortable, the toilets and rooms are clean and the breakfast included is delicious (thanks Jenny for the soft and tasty omelets). The highlight of Hub of Joys is not the hostel itself but more the owners Tong and Ra. They were super welcoming and helpful from the beginning of our stay. They helped us arrange snorkelling trips and the boat to go to Koh Phi Phi. Special thanks to the two of them.

The Hub of Joys was by far the best hostel during my trip, period. From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcome and home. Ra and P'Tong are amazing hosts and can assist you with anything you can imagine. Transfers, Day Trips, Renting Scooters, Recommendations. Ra makes everything possible for you and any request was fulfilled perfectly! And the breakfast, oh the breakfast, it's by far the best and most richest one I had in Thailand overall. Fresh Fruits, Toast, Jam, Bananas, Muffins, Fresh cooked eggs, Coffee, Tea, Juice its just incredible and delicious getting you set perfectly to head out directly for your day activities! Scooters can be rented for 200 Baht a day on a 24h basis and the hostel is so central that it's the perfect base to go everywhere. No more than 30 Minutes to all the good places. Long Beach, Old Town, National Park, Cave, Waterfall every point of interest can be reached quickly. The dorms are very clean, the beds are spacious and have two storage shelves each and curtains for privacy. Towels are provided and the bathrooms are very clean as well. The common room is the heart of the hostel. If you want to make new friends just sit there and you will be connected to other travelers very quickly. Have I mentioned free Water, Tea and snacks like freh Popcorn all day? The Hub of Joys is such a gem, I would come back any time and have extended my stay from 2 to 8 nights, that's how great it was. 100% recommended!!

We had an amazing experience with this hostel. The beds are comfy and clean with a heavy privacy curtain and towel included. There are also lockers for your valuables just outside the dorms. Nothing fancy, basic but perfectly acceptable especially for the price. Breakfast is included which we didn’t expect, they cook eggs to order, every day had a different Thai dish provided as well as toast and jam. Coffee, tea and cakes are available all day as well which saved us a lot of money! The hostel also provides a great service for transfer to other places, scooter rental and day trips. The woman and man working reception were both super friendly and helpful, they gave suggestions of where we should go even if we weren’t paying for a service they provided and asked us every day where we had been and if we enjoyed it. It seems they both love their jobs and love the island so want you to see the best bits. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Stayed at Hubs of Joy while travelling through Thailand and can't recommend Hubs of Joy enough, free breakfast is included in price which is great for when on a budget. Clean rooms and owner is so nice and really helpful with any questions answered. From Sam, Jack and Laura.
