The Longji One Art is a quirky, eclectic hotel in the small village of Ping’an, directly below the rice paddies. The loop track to “Seven stars” and “Nine dragons, five tigers” can be accessed from outside the door of the hotel. It is run by a family whose warmth and hospitality is second to none. They were very friendly, generous and welcoming. I had three meals in the small dining area, and each was plentiful, fresh and home cooked. This is not a big flashy hotel, more like a small guesthouse, but it is a great destination particularly if you want to rise early and see the sunrise over the paddies. For solo travellers or small groups it is perfect for a short stay in Longji.

The view from the hotel was absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, it rained during my stay, so I didn’t get to enjoy the sunrise or sunset — but even without that, the scenery truly delivered. The service was excellent, and I received a warm, friendly welcome upon arrival. If you’re coming from the parking lot, it’s about a 35-minute walk, but the path is scenic and well worth the effort. That said, don’t worry — it’s also accessible by car. All in all, a wonderful experience. Completely worth it.

This hotel stay has been magical and too short for us. We look forward to spending more time here on our next trip to China. These are the reasons: - The hotel owner is very lovely, they make you feel like part of their family - They speak really good English - They would support and arrange the trip for you if needed. We travelled from the Guilin north station to the village and then we left to go to Yangshuo. All arranged by the hotel owner when we requested. Also very good prices as transport. - Cooking is very good and breakfast is yummy. - The room has all the facilities and you can see the sunrise and the rice fields directly from the balcony. Thanks again!
