Hotel Moeesy, Blue & Green Oasis

Our first time to Hvar. We loved the hotel, just a 15 min walk from the town. Newly refurbished, the hotel rooms are excellent. All staff that we encountered went out of their way to make it a special day. Special shout out to the reception team who were particularly helpful in booking restaurants. Lovely pool area. Vast array of breakfast options, we will definitely be back!

As a seasoned traveler who always reads these reviews before booking, I ought to know better when several negative reviews have unprofessional responses from the hotel management. I typically would never book there. However, I forgot to read them in this case and it would have been a sign of things to come during my stay for sure. We requested a larger room upon check in as ours (an attic room) was so much smaller and much darker than it appeared on the site. My husband was ill and we needed more space for him as he was going to be in the room much of the time. We had been traveling for a month, so we had more luggage than that room could accommodate. I was told I could see a larger room the next morning if I came to the front desk at the check out time for others. Noon. I did that and was told the manager would not let me see a room until 4 pm when it was clean. I explained the situation to Kristina at the front desk (who is not empowered to do anything, sadly) and she told me there were only a few rooms to show me but that her manager would not allow me to see them until they were clean. I explained that I needed to get on with my day and get my husband settled-- I was happy to see through the mess and determine if it was large enough. The manager, a woman who is also the chef, appeared and had to be the rudest woman breathing in Croatia. She should not be dealing with the public under any circumstance. I won't go into the level and details of her commentary and iciness, but I sat at the front desk for hours waiting and asking if they could perhaps clean these few rooms first since they knew I needed to quickly look at them. Finally, my ill husband came to the front desk and Kristina must have felt sorry for him because suddenly the room was free to look at! This ordeal took most of the day. My husband had to move all the bags to the room himself and get back to bed. Other notes: This hotel is far off the beaten path from the city center, so prepare to walk quite a bit. The hotel food is barely average. There are not enough lounge chairs at the smallish pool for everyone to have a seat and the drink (cocktail) menu is incredibly limited. The staff do not smile much, for obvious reasons, with the bright exception of the most extraordinary massage therapist I have ever encountered-- Bogdana. Amazing massage in spite of the slamming dishes from the kitchen behind the one massage room. She had to ask them to quiet down multiple times. I felt bad for her. There are amazing places to stay in Hvar and this is not one of them. Choose another.

Staying here was one of the highlights of our time in Croatia. . Everyone on the staff was wonderful and we received great advice from Mia, Kristina and Matilde about restaurants. The rooms are beautiful and the beds and pillows very high end and comfortable. The place is immaculately maintained. The pool is beautiful and you are steps away from the Adriatic.Loved the boutique size of this high-end hotel. Walking into town is easy and this location simply could not be better. Can not say enough about how lovely and quiet this place is. The buffet breakfast is included and is very good, with the sweetest chef making fresh eggs or omelettes. Truly a magical setting..

Awesome hotel. It is 10-15 minute walk from the main town/harbor region, so less hustle and bustle. It is a luxurious hotel that sits on a hill and extends to the water. Great rooms, service, and facilities. Breakfast “buffet” was excellent. Front staff were very helpful. Rooms are spacious, modern and clean. It has outside pools and what I saw and inside pool. It is like staying in a private luxurious villa. If you like loud noises and hustle and bustle, stay in town. If you like privacy and luxury, stay here. The seaside walking path from town and hotel and a wonderful walk everyday.

Gorgeous property and location. The pools and bar were amazing and breakfast was delicious. The staff was VERY helpful and Matilda is amazing. She went above and beyond to help with all of our needs prior to arrival and then after as well. Next time we would follow her recommendations for dinner in town. The plan she helped with for our trip to Dubrovnik was amazing and a highlight of our trip. The massages were pleasant and relaxing. Would highly recommend this hotel. (Would skip the dinner here, but everything else was perfection).

The Moeesy hotel is perfectly located next to the Adriatic sea on the island of Hvar. It is a very pleasant 15 minute walk along the coast into the centre of Hvar so you get that perfect combination of relaxation at the hotel but the liveliness of the centre nearby. The hotel is gorgeous and the pool area is great to chillout and have a swim (there are two pools, one deeper than the other so perfect for swimmers and non swimmers). We had a ‘park view’ room as all the sea views were fully booked, it’s not the best view so we often sat in the communal terrace located on the first floor where you had a sea view and you could watch the sunset. The breakfast is really nice, lots of choice. The day we left the hotel there was the most epic storm but Kristina at reception could not help us enough with checking that our ferry was still running and organising a taxi to get us as near to the port as possible to avoid the rain! We had the best time, this is the best hotel to stay at, don’t bother with the hotels in the port as the crowds will drive you mad :)

My wife & I stayed in Moeesy for 6 nights in Sept 2023 we really enjoyed our stay, the hotel and Hvar. +'s - Beautiful Hotel, lovely setting with stunning grounds and back-drop overlooking the Adriatic, it's really amazing. - Someone's clearly spent a ton of dough on the place and the hotel has great potential. - The staff are really nice and friendly, certainly everyone we came into contact with - Kristina on reception / concierge is a real diamond. Her local knowledge, guidance booking restaurants, the beach clubs or anything else for that matter really helped make the difference with our stay. Thanks Kristina. -'s - No table service around the pool - No turn down service - Small point, but you get your own tea or coffee at breakfast from one of those coffee machine (so often a line) - The bar is less "dim lit snug club lounge", more "bright white operating theatre (so lacks any soul), same for the restaurant. - Some nasty looking Plastic plants dotted around the hotel (why when so much has been spent on the real stuff in the grounds) - Don't know what you call it, but none of those bits you normally get in the room for the missus, like cotton wool, pads, ear buds etc - Shared balconies and garden with no privacy between rooms, a bit odd really. Reality check - All totally insignificant 1st world problems ! but with such a amazing setting & grounds it's a shame these points let the hotel down, consequently falls short of 5*. Newish hotels, so Maybe this is all a work in progress ? in which case, has Huge potential. (3.5 dots, gave 4) Marcus & Joanne

This is without a doubt the best hotel on Hvar, and we would argue one of the best hotels in the world we’ve stayed in! We stayed for 4 nights in a sea view room, we were kindly upgraded to this room by Kristina as we had just got engaged. Kristina’s customer service throughout our stay was truly exceptional. The room was big and the bed very comfortable, and we had the most beautiful views The hotel itself is beautiful, quiet and clean. The pool area is absolutely stunning and the staff cannot do enough to help. Truly a very special hotel and incredible experience - we will be back next year!

My partner & I had a fabulous 6 night stay at this beautiful property. The room and poolside facilities were fabulous. The staff were friendly, smiling and accommodating at all times. The luggage shuttle service is a great help. We’d have no hesitation recommending or returning. Loved it.
