Hotel Castello Monticello

Nice location about to 15 minutes walk to Giglio Porto. Actually the road is very steep but it is feasible even for the lazy. Alternatively there is the public bus or the collective taxi service. Also Arenella beach is easily reached by awalking. The rooms are very basic, clean but quite small. Breakfast and dinner were very good. Staff is friendl.

The staff at Castillo Monticello were very helpful. Upon check in, we were given information about beaches and towns and how to get there. The hotel provided transportation to and from the port. We will stay there again.

Very nice hotel in a wonderfull position, breathtaking view from the dining room. Warm stuff available for every needs. Nice rooms clean and silent. Exelent food, wonderfull breakfast. Our esperience was very positive.

Stayed here for five days with my husband. We wished we could have stayed longer. Really outstanding service from every member of staff - friendly, helpful, courteous. We paid a little extra for a room with sea view and it was a great pleasure to look out on the panoramic and ever changing view. Lovely gardens with a big terrace to sit in and watch birds or read. The weather wasn't perfect the whole time but the hotel lent us an umbrella. Our room was spacious and had a desk and chairs as well as a very comfortable bed. Very good bathroom with large shower and tiny sea view window! Breakfasts were perfectly good though fresh juices would have been welcome. We ate in the hotel every night because we couldn't be bothered to go out again; the hotel is a short walk out of town but coming back it's up a very steep hill (however there's a free shuttle from the port area to the hotel if you prefer to go out). The dinners were excellent; fractionally more expensive than in a basic restaurant but had a good choice of dishes, especially seafood. On several days we went out for long walks and the hotel provided a packed lunch @ 12 euros which we felt was good value for money. Spring was the perfect time to visit Giglio - the hillsides were covered with wonderful wildflowers and migrating birds were everywhere (hoopoes, golden orioles, bee eaters). There's a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you to the two other settlements on the island. What we loved about this place was that it was old-fashioned in the best possible way - spotlessly clean, comfortable, and with everyone focussed on making sure guests truly enjoy staying there. It's a bit off the beaten track but a lovely place for anyone who likes islands and nature.

Clean and well kept hotel in a romantic,picturesque area overlooking Porto Giglo and 10' from Giglo Castello. Although breakfast could be improved, service was excellent. Francesco from the reception had the answer to all the questions. Very helpful, made sure we had a very enjoyable stay.

We stayed two nights, I wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is very cute, the views are spectacular and the breakfast very enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. But above all were the people who managed and worked there. Everyone was very helpful and always smiling nothing was a problem. They had a shuttle service for the 3 main beaches of the island and for the port this was so convenient and always available. I would highly recommend this hotel

L'hotel tra Giglio porto e Giglio Castello si trova in una posizione strategica per spostarsi comodamente nell'isola. Lo staff è molto empatico e disponibile. È consigliato per chi cerca la tranquillità e panorami mozzafiato ed è adatto per vari tipi di vacanza.

Siamo un gruppo di persone andati all'isola del Giglio per fare trekking sui sentieri dell'isola e abbiamo scelto l'Hotel Castello Monticello come posto dove soggiornare. Direi che la scelta è stata azzeccata, l'hotel si trova in una zona panoramica fuori da Giglio Porto con vicino la fermata del bus , comodissima per gli spostamenti verso Giglio Porto, Giglio Castello e Giglio Campese, spostamenti che si possono anche effettuare con la navetta dell'hotel sempre gentilmente a disposizione. La posizione è panoramica , le stanze vista mare hanno una bellissima visione e sono comode, pulite e silenziose. Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile . Nell'hotel si può anche cenare , il menù è buono. Il centro del paese è raggiungibile facilmente con una via interna diretta e dista circa 800m . Consigliato !!!

Ottima struttura a 15 minuti a piedi dal porto e con servizio navetta. Posizione panoramica, fermata del bus per Giglio Castello e Campese a pochi passi. Camera piccola ma confortevole con vista mare e bella sala colazione/cena. Personale Cortese e disponibile. Consigliato!
