Room was nice and clean. Breakfast had good selections. Staff was okay. However there was a guy taking the same elevator looking suspicious he did not tap his room key just let us do. He said he was struggling to get his room key and tried to search in his pants pocket but hands out with nothing. He came out the elevator on the same floor. We headed to different direction but when we were entering our room and looked to him, he turned around and walked back towards our direction. We went in the room right away closed and locked the door. Hotel can definitely do better regarding safety.
ผผู้เข้าพักUnderground heated parking for cars, midsize suvs! Outdoor parking as well. All parking is free. This is a really nice quiet place to stay on the south west side of Edmonton. It is very new. I appreciated the: underground heated parking, the cleanliness, the bed and many pillows. I liked that the breakfast is included and served on the main level. I like that my room has a microwave, small fridge, and Keurig coffee. Complimentary coffee on the lobby level during the day. I like that they have a long bench with coat rack as well as closet. I like the large TV. I like that it is so close to great shopping and restaurants in Windermere community. It’s also right near Anthony Henday freeway. But note: I didn’t know they had underground parking until I read someone else’s review. I had messaged IHG and I was advised there was no underground parking at this location. So I called directly. Yes - there is free heated underground parking! (Not for large trucks though). Underground parking is SO important in a winter city! I highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed here for 2 night for a sports team event outside the city. When we arrived it was around 930 and went to our room. Discovered that all the pillows in the room were feather. 2 of us have feather allergies and I always request non feather pillows when I book any hotel room. I called to the front desk and advised our pillows were a problem. She told me she thought that they only had feather. She went and checked and brought us one very pathetic looking pillow I would not even give to a pet. However my son had an early game in the morning so he took it. Husband raced off to Walmart to buy 3 pillows, pillow cases and soap to wash the pillow cases in the sink. We were up late using blow dryer to try and get them dry enough to sleep on. The carpet in the room is so so so so dirty. Kids used the pool one night it was ok. Breakfast my kids ate at and it looked like there was a good variety. 3 sports teams there at breakfast at 630 in morning so after kids ate we got food elsewhere, did not feel like fighting crowds. Hotel is noisy, clearly used by teams often. We stay at Hampton a lot when we travel but this was not a typical Hampton. Many of the parents commented on the poor quality and it was not up to normal standards. Staff was friendly, parking was adequate. That's about all I can say. Get a steam cleaner in those rooms and deep clean the place.
When we checked in we wanted some hot water to make a cup of tea. None in the rooms which was ok but when we went down to the lobby to ask they told my wife to walk down to the convenience store down the road and ask for some. This despite having the facilities in the breakfast room next to reception, they just couldn’t be bothered opening the door. Also rooms were dusty and old, and in need of significant repairs. For what they charge you would definitely expect better. Internet is portioned out by the day and throttled which I have never experienced before. Overall it is of the quality of a rent by the hour / 50 dollar a night motel trying to call itself a hotel. Technically they refer to themselves as a “truck stop” which is pretty much our experience. Much better value from any other hotel in the area at his price point. Highly unreccomended
I endured 2 nights but would not have stayed longer. The last time I was here was my prom night in 1984, and it really does appear that is the last time they upgraded. Dingy, worn - just bonkers with all the bizarre rock features throughout the place and I think used to be lush and green - perhaps running fountains? Just dead and out of place now. I had a bunch of heavy luggage and thought I had scored a good parking spot near the door. nope, you go in and end up on trek through dingy, narrow and winding hallways. There IS an exterior door close to my room - I tried to get in and my key card wouldn't open it despite showing a green light. I later investigated from the inside -it was padlocked shut. The room is dingy, smells like cat pee (although I'm sure that isn't it). I have a great view of the dumpsters across the way, and they put me RIGHT by the elevator, There is on ice or pop machines on my floor, nor could I locate them. There is an inhouse restaurant but no room service. Just as well, as the only living human being I encountered said the restaurant was overpriced and the food absolutely terrible. The bed is as hard as a rock - but the pillows are comfy I'll grant them that. Whole place feels a bit twilight zone - I barely saw a living person. Oh, and don't forget the super sketchy industrial door out onto my super sketchy balcony. I have a suspicion that was someone else's soap in the shower as it was two unwrapped bars, but I can't say for sure. I didn't get any housekeeping - apparently you have to specifically ask? I'd rahter spend the night in the Twilight Zone tower of terror.
JJun-jun0424You get what you paid for. If you are looking for a very affordable place to stay and your only concern is your budget then this is your go to place in Edmonton area. Location wise, it is in an odd place and there aren't shops close to this location so you'll have to go out and drive if you need to buy something. With regards to service, they went above and beyond my requests and are super friendly and welcoming. I requested for a portable heater because they have no way to adjust the heat temp in each room (it's centralized) and they offered me this option for free. Their TVs are smart TV and I'm super amazed because you don't get this in bigger 3 star hotels where you pay almost double the price of what you pay here! You will just have to request in the front desk for the TV's remote control if you want to use the smart tv features like logging in on your streaming apps or casting/mirroring videos from your phone or tablets to the TV's screen..
