I booked the Orsen Hotel in Con Dao (Vietnam) through Agoda. For two nights on 15/03/24 to 17/03/24. The cost was 3 million Dong for the two nights, this was for an Ocean Facing room with a pick up from either the Airport or the Ferry terminal plus breakfast. (I travelled by the Phu Quoc Express Ferry) We were picked up from the Ferry Office and after a 5 min drive were at the Hotel, there was a line so we were directed to sit down and we were supplied with a welcoming drink. It was not well organised as guests were coming in through the main doors, and being taken before the guests who were waiting. The room itself was large, clean and spacious, and generally well maintained. (see photos) There is a safe The room welcome folder was very informative (see photos), but regarding the black out info I never saw any black outs. At reception they have a folder with all the sightseeing trips available, the Hotel will book them for you and organise the taxi but you have to pay for the trip to the operator. There is a bar directly behind the reception, and any drinks are put down to your room. You can’t pay directly. There is one pool table and one billiards table over on the far side (Billiards table with no pockets) The Infinity pool was good, the staff hand out lounger towels on request. They also take drinks orders. There are steps down to the beach, and there was a staff member on watch. If the tide is in it can be difficult entering the water, but after the area of rocks its all sandy bottom and good for snorking. The Hotel does not provide masks or snorkels, so take your own. On the Hotel web site it states “things to do, ways to relax” and it mentions canoeing but there are no canoes at the Hotel. The restaurant was nice and modern, and very clean. We had two meals here and the food standard and variety was good. We did have a bit of bother, but this was down to the language barrier. I believe that the Hotel has just hired an American, to help guests with translation. (Nick) Check out was no problem, just a case of paying your bar/Restaurant bill and handing back your key card. They did not have the minibus available, so reception arranged a taxi to take us to the Ferry Port.
