I'm a Marriott Elite Bonvoy member and a long time loyal guest at Marriott properties over the year. This is the single worst experience I have ever had at a Marriott property. 1. Staff was extremely sp****. More often than not, there was no one at the front desk while several guests looked around and called for someone. Sometimes, a person would appear. Other times, not. And sometimes the person who seemed to be on duty was instead sitting outside the hotel taking a smoking break. 2. One day I came down for breakfast right in the middle of the listed breakfast hours and there was no breakfast available. That same evening snacks and drinks were posted to be available until 10:00. When I arrived at the hotel in the evening at about 9:15 the bar area was dark. I asked about this and was told "Oh, they closed early tonight". 3. The blackout curtains in my room were ripped at the top with the pull bar ripped off. The lack of pull bar made them hard to close and the ripping made them ineffectual in the morning at sunrise. Having presented these negatives, there are two positives: 1. I like the fact that the TV didn't take over the room. In too many hotel rooms, TVs way too big for the room are provided. 2. I asked for and received late checkout (about 2 hours extension on checkout time).
