Reid's Palace is a lovely hotel perched on a cliffside in beautiful Madeira. The staff are so thoughtful and small gifts were left each day including a champagne for my husband's birthday. The views are also spectacular. It is definitely a treat staying at this hotel.
It was my first visit to Madeira and this lovely hotel came recommended by my travel agent. I was looking for somewhere comfortable and friendly and the hotel more than delivered on my expectations. It's set up in the hills above Funchal with fabulous views of the bay. I booked half board and found the food excellent. The room was large with views of the garden. But what makes the hotel really special is its wonderful staff. Special thanks to Carina for her exceptional service at breakfast and dinner and Ricardo on reception who helped me book excursions. The hotel also runs a shuttle service into Funchal during the week- although the local buses stop nearby. And there is a lovely pool and sauna, both of which I enjoyed. Would definitely recommend.
My wife and I stayed at the TUI Blue Madeira (Savoy) Gardens for 1 week. We opted for the sea view room, which in our opinion is worth the extra outlay. We have no complaints. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the décor is very good quality throughout. All staff are amazing and made our holiday extra special. We spoke to many other guests most of whom were repeat customers, which speaks volumes of this place. The facilities, which include a Jacuzzi and an indoor pool are perfect for just chilling or if you need to recoup after a day walking the landscape of Madeira. There are ample sunbeds as well - meaning nobody does a sunrise dash to reserve them. The food was plentiful and to our personal taste. The opening times for both breakfast and evening meals had a three-hour window ensuring the restaurant never gets too busy. The à la carte restaurant is included for those on a HB basis and is a sit-down affair. Note: This must be pre-booked at reception and has a specific time slot. The Animation team lead by the wonderful Santa kept us entertained throughout each day by hosting different games and activities. We particularly liked the Wine tasting class, quizzes and the darts. They also have evening entertainment, which ranges from a pianist to local dances to a New Year’s Eve disco. If we returned to this beautiful island, we would definitely stop at this hotel again.
We had an excellent experience, from check-in to check-out. The staff were very friendly and helpful, going so far as to show me where the bathroom was on the main floor when I was in a hurry before an early morning pick-up, and offering me a bottle of the shampoo on check-out when I mentioned that I loved the scent of it. The hotel smelled like vanilla, but not cloying-I'm very sensitive to smells, just clean. The rooms were clean and quiet, the beds comfortable. Our room had a nice balcony. We could walk everywhere that we wanted to go and there was a bus stop for the local busses and for the airport bus just steps away. Overall, a great stay.
we were very confortable in our jr. suite. the room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning silent and strong. Nice pool with a beautiful view. Housekeeping quick and did a nice job. Many restaurants to choose from right outside the door.
Lovely hotel with a good location, a short walk from central Funchal. Wonderful ocean view from the room. If it's not too windy you can swim in the ocean without leaving the hotel premises (big plus if you just want that quick morning swim). Very good breakfast and spotless cleaning of the room every day.
Return visit and just as good as last time. The perfect place to relax and recharge the batteries. Excellent facilities, beautiful surroundings and attentive staff. The external gardens and extensive places to rest and relax mean that there is air of peace and tranquility and absolutely no need for the awful sunbed dash.

We arrived late evening and very tired but received a very warm welcome and equally welcome glass of wine. The gentleman on reception even brought our cases to our room, which was very large and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. Everything was spotlessly clean. We stayed 10 nights and bedding and towels were constantly changed by a very smiley and hard working member of housekeeping. All staff were friendly and helpful. We only had bed and breakfast but what a treat eating outside overlooking the sea. Food choice at breakfast was excellent and constantly being replenished. Waiters friendly and efficient. Pool area was lovely with nice views and surrounded by palm trees. Saving of sun beds not allowed so all very relaxed. Very clean and tidy. Music some evenings but nothing to disturb other guests. For a largish hotel it still had a very personal feeling. Delilia the customer relations manager was extremely helpful, answering queries and booking restaurants. There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance of tge hotel. Noticed guests with mobility scooters and walking sticks so good to know all people are catered for. Bus stop just outside hotel so apart from walking into Funchal there is good transport available. We loved our stay here.
ผผู้เข้าพักWonderful hotel in the heart of Funchal. Easy access to anywhere in the city. Some road construction near by that limits taxi pick up access, but hotel room is very comfortable, pool is lovely with great view and wonderfully helpful and friendly staff!
I booked this hotel for my husband's birthday via jet2. I was concerned leading up to the holiday about the reviews. However I can honestly say it was a wonderful holiday. The hotel complex is big, light and airy. I immediately felt very relaxed. Our room was very spacious on the 10th floor, the view was incredible and the sunset spectacular. Like others have said, before me, the floor to ceiling bathroom mirrors are not a feature I would want, but that's my only niggle. The food was really good, I'm really not sure what more people could ask for, there was always plenty of choice. We ate out in the Mamma Mia and Portuguese restaurant. It was really nice to be able to do that. Half board gives the dine around option. We also had lunch by the pool. No complaints about any, the food in all the restaurants was of a high quality. We used the spa, the indoor pool and the outside pool, all were clean and not crowded. I think what I liked most about this hotel, was it was relaxed, you are just left on your own, however if you needed something then the reception staff were more than happy to help. My top tip would be to scan the QR code or ask the hotel to give you a link to the website, theres a map and loads of useful information on there, which made planning our week so much easier. I think many people didnt do this as lots didnt know there was an indoor swimming pool with a sauna. I would definitely stay again, I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel (10th floor) to others. One of my best holidays.
DDionisНаходится в самом центре города Фуншал. Рядом очень красивый парк. Из окна вид на церковь. Завтрак шведский стол стандартный, кофе отвратительный. В номере сильная слышимость. Все остальное супер. Я доволен.
AAd rianThe hotel is located in a good area. Close to restaurants, beaches or boardwalk. Breakfast is decent, and the room was clean. A bit old mattress, and the furniture as well.
Considering the paid price, I would say the hotel delivers the right services.
LLulu Em TravelsVery sociable kind staff who talk to you like a regular friend coming in, plain rooms but nice sized windows for the fresh air, great rooftop view alllllll over the mountain and the ocean - especially lovely at night as everything is lit up. Cute bar setup aside the pool too! Good price for its perfect location and cleanliness and covering all the basics and a bit more. Good brunch cafe just across the street facing the cafe! The staff were super helpful with setting up a late checkin too.
It wasn't the hotel I originally booked and I was very worried when I read the reviews. Luckily,as it turned out, there was no need to worry, the room was basic but comfortable, comfy bed, amazing views, friendly and helpful staff, satisfactory breakfast, nice dinner, the best location-5minutes from anything and everything. It was an amazing holiday, and I remembered again why I don't read reviews:)
