Not our first, not our second and most certainly not our last stay - this is a place on its own, with wonderful hospitality. Highly recommended.

It takes a while to get to the Cederberg Mountains and I would recommend you plan at least 3 days her. Break out of Capetown and the garden route and explore the region. I stayed at Cederberg Ridge for three nights and arrived unwell after picking up a bug in Capetown. The staff were understanding and kind and empathetic and brought me electrolytes water modified my room so I was more comfortable. It was only two days later after recovering did I notice the beautiful surroundings and the investment made by the owners into the interior design and the thoughtful in room supplies. A sudden need to jump on a laptop for work was met without a flinch and within minutes I was getting the work out of the way so I could resume my holiday (I'm forever grateful for that) The meals here are good and surprisingly well catered for vegetarians. Delicious local wine on the menu. I took one of the many free excursions they created to go see the rock art with David one of the employee guides. Highly trained, his topic knowledge is incredible and he speaks English with the vocabulary of an English scholar. Such gravitas! Cederberg Ridge and the region did not disappoint

The lodge exceeded our expectations with beautiful 5-star rooms with awesome views, great excursions, knowlegeable guides, friendly staff and gourmet meals. The guided walks are great activities and super interesting. Three nights are great - but I wish we could stay longer. Will be back.

All staff members were eager to please. Rooms and common areas were well appointed and tidy. Food was excellent with fixed menu plus specials each meal. Site was more rural than expected, but perfect for a quiet and relaxing retreat. Two outdoor pools, spa services, and two off-site activities offered each day. All-in-all a very enjoyable experience.

A lovely place to stay and escape the rat race in this wilderness location. Excellent food, albeit on a limited choice menu with daily specials. Room was kept spotless with tick daily pop ups of milk, water, tea, coffee and little eats.

Absolutely beautiful wilderness lodge! Fabulous friendly staff that go above and beyond to make our stay perfect in every way. Food was outstanding. A great variety of activities were available with a wonderful knowledgeable guide, David. One of the best places we have ever stayed. If I could give this 6 stars I would!

Simbavati is situated on a ridge with wonderful views. All the rooms have nice views though they are best from the Superior rooms. The whole ambience is very friendly and welcoming. There is always an excursion every morning and evening, going to see the rock art, the farm, on the boat to the dam to name but a few. The food is delicious and all meals are taken on the terrace if its warm enough. We loved our stay and would thoroughly recommend it.

Lovely environment from which to see the Cederbergs. If you’re at all interested in irrigation and water engineering make sure you do the ClanWilliam dam trip. The “ hidden” valley of Algeria also v interesting

I just loved everything about this experience. The rooms are just amazing..I felt so comfortable and happy about the details and the whole area that you have just for yourself. The service is just awesome. Everyone is so nice and just gives you the feeling of being welcome and home :) you should definitely do some guided hikes - I just loved to experience the nature. Big thanks to Gerald :) Stargazing is also so fascinating. Food is great!! Yeah..just the whole experience! So worth it :) definitely coming back.
