Belfort Hotel

Everything was excellent until I had to change rooms due to availability. Keeping it simple, I was told I would have to move 3 nights in a row, which I didn't have an issue with. However, having packed to move for the first time, I was then told I could keep my room for the next 2 nights. On the day of the 3rd move, I packed again and even though my reservation was for a suite, I was moved to a standard double room (3 classes below) without any mention or apology. When I enquired about this, the receptionist became very defensive and blamed her colleagues. It was explained to me that the suite wasn't available and that this happens in every hotel. When I said I would leave, I was then told I could have the suite (which was actually available). However, I was told in no uncertain terms that I should know that the hotel was doing me a favour. I accepted the suite, but then decided I did not want to pay to spend 4 more nights in a hotel where I was made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Therefore, out of courtesy rathe than just turning up at reception with my bags packed and walking out, I informed the reception of my intention to leave, but this was met with the angry receptionist who decided to go and seek the manager's permission for me to leave! Aside from the room downgrade, it is not acceptable to be blamed and spoken to in a disrespectful way, especially when I maintained a polite attitude throughout. This episode spoilt the entire stay, but I am rating the review taking into account the otherwise good experience, where the rest of the staff were excellent and my initial room immaculate.

The hotel room was very clean and comfortable It was warm and it had decent size. Breakfast was very tasty with a lot of options to choose from. The coffee was decent and the view gorgeous. Hotel staff was pleasant as well. Location was is very close to the old city

Modern and recently built structure. Rooms that satisfy the customer's needs down to the smallest details. Spacious shower cabin (although the bathroom is not very large) which when closed does not let a drop of water pass outside. Air conditioning or heating that remain on even without the need to leave the magnetic key inserted and remain on even with the balcony window open. Very comfortable mattress, beautiful view of the city of Brasov from the balcony, sockets placed in crucial points and even an iron with ironing board in the wardrobe just in case. List of TV channels plated and clearly visible on the desk. This is not always the case, in fact in most hotels there is no list at all with the available television channels. I didn't give the highest rating for a few reasons: it's strange that in a business hotel like this there isn't the possibility of connecting to Netflix with the TV. Abundant and varied breakfast in a beautiful panoramic room, equally strange that the coffee is made by machines. 5 flights of stairs before reaching the lift as the hotel is built on a hill, strange that there is no trolley to carry the luggage. Staff on arrival were unsmiling and unkind. They make sure that the customer pays for the room immediately. Upon leaving they stop you and call the chambermaid to check if you drank any drinks from the minibar and to check if you wanted to be smart and leave without having paid for them.

Not much in the way of decor or charm, but we had a clean spacious room (deluxe double). I highly recommend asking for a room facing the back. It’s private and quiet with Mt Tampa’s forest behind vs a relatively busy street. The breakfast buffet is served in a light room on the top floor with nice views of the city.

This hotel is very nice and elegant The rooms are clean and spacious and has all the amenities , mini bar is well stocked and bathroom is very nice with very good shower The breakfast is delicious and healthy Best part is the customer service by the staff , she she helped us in warming our food in microwave and sullied us with plates and silverware , Also they helped us in varying baggage’s too , I recommend this hotel for anyone who is travelling to Brasov and needs a comfortable stay away from home

Very nice hotel with good breakfast and optimal location near the old town and the busy streets of Brasov. Clean and nice room, the only downside thing that I can say is the low pressure in the shower. But other then that all is good. I don’t understand why TripAdvisor force me to put 200 characters???

Very clean hotel, excellent breakfast and service. There is a parking to the hotel. It is very close to the old town and the pedestrial area - 7 minutes by foot. There is a nice park near to the hotel.

Great hotel, with a clean nice room, a great view (5th floor), a very good breakfast, free parking in front of the hotel and 10 minutes walk to the old city. After 50 years we traveled again to Romania, the country where we were born and lived more than half of our life (added just to have 200 characters requested by TripAdvisor!!!??)

One of the best, if not the best 3-star hotel I've ever been to. The rooms are big and nicely decorated. The staff is really nice and the breakfast is very good, with lots of options. Belfort Hotel is my number one option when visiting Brasov. Also, the location is very convenient, 10-15 minutes away by walking from the entire city center and the Livada Postei bus hub.
