ผผู้เข้าพักThe location is ideal. Near to everything you need to visit in Cairns, Great Barrier Reef wharf, water park, restaurants, museums. When you have to get up early to meet your tour schedule, location is the key. Very friendly staff. Room is clean with amazing water view. Breakfast buffet offers a wide range of choices. Although in view of the age of the hotel, it has little tears and wears, 4 stars service and comforts are something we are looking for, instead of some fancy golden decoration in the hallway. We definitely will come back when we visit Carins.

Ssolo travellerEverything about this hotel is exceptional. The only downside was the room that I was given was on the top floor and the noise from either some sort of pump or the outside unit of the air condition was so overwhelming that I couldn't sleep well all night.

NNickVery comfortable night sleep, room was clean staff were helpful. Please note the lift is currently under construction so you may need to use the stairs, the stairs are not suitable for children as they have horizontal rails with large gaps. The restraunts buffet looked like it had a decent selection but we did not have it as it was $16each our two and three year olds.

HHennyP.My first room in building C was awful with the view of the opposite hotel. I could literally watch what other people did in their room and they could watch me as well. Also the room condition was so bad with crawling insects so I needed to upgrade the room. The upgraded room was fine with a poolside view and less bugs crawling on the wooden table. I understand there could be little creatures but just too many in the first room. Other than that, their food was delicious and staffs were kind and friendly. My kid loved playing in the pool.

PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

Reception staff super helpful with any queries and great location. Fitness centre hasn't really got a lot in there, don't rely on it for a good workout!

CcalifragileThe room facilities are relatively old and the lights are dim. Slippers and toothbrushes are not provided. Shower gel and shampoo are of poor quality. The room was on the first floor and there was noise. It should be the sound of the air conditioner engine or other machinery. The breakfast is simple and does not provide the delicacies of various countries. It only has bread, fruits and some drinks. A separate deposit of 50 AUD is required upon check-in, or 100 AUD in cash.

Location is great, you have the esplanade close by as well as all the touristic thing.  We had a great sleep thanks to their very comfy bed and quiet street, bathroom need some upgrading but you still have all the necessities bathtub and all. The pool was close for renovation but the lagoon at the esplanade is well worth the walk. Would definitely go back :)
