From the moment we arrived at Carpe Diem Villas, we were treated like VIPs! The staff welcomed us with refreshing drinks and big smiles, instantly setting the tone for a relaxing and memorable stay. The check-in process was smooth, and we immediately felt at home in this beautiful, tranquil retreat.
Our villa was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully designed—combining modern comforts with a cozy tropical vibe. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we loved having a private balcony where we could unwind with a cup of coffee in the mornings or a glass of wine in the evenings. The pool area was another highlight—serene, well-maintained, and perfect for lounging under the Palawan sun.
While the villa is located in Puerto Princesa city (not near far-flung attractions like the Underground River or Honda Bay), the hotel made exploring easy by offering convenient tours to these must-see spots - from city tours to island-hopping adventures, ensuring that we can experience the best of Palawan without the stress of planning. Their recommendations for local restaurants and hidden gems were also spot-on!

PPau.I liked the hostel very much, the staff as is very common in the Philippines is extremely polite and always helpful, I loved the unusual big bunk bed and I wish I could've stay until the last day I planned to stay, however the weather force me to leave one day earlier and I really hoped the hostel will understand my position, considering that nature conditions are out of my control and I couldn't take the risk of not making it to Coron to get my flight out of the Philippines, sadly I ended paying double for accommodation, and haven't been able to see as much as I expected of the country.

AAizzyCleHad a great experience in Astoria. Was welcomed by their friendly and helpful staff. Everyone greets you with a smile and everyone is willing to help may it be with queries or directions and even with taking your great photos in the resort. The rooms were clean, and homey. Rooms are equipped with microwaves and table wares for when you order room service. The resort has great amenities and you will not get bored with activities you can do during your stay. Their breakfast buffet is something we look forward to every morning. They serve delicious and freshly cooked food. They have fast and reliable WiFi for those who work on the go. It was a stay I would remember and recommend all the time.

CCris RuffoloI went on a 13-day trip around Palawan and Coron was my first stop from Cebu. In Coron, I stayed in Dayon Hostel. I was alone for the duration of my three-night stay in the six-bed female dorm. You can choose to lock the door at night for security. I made sure that I turned off the AC every time I went out.
The restrooms are clean especially the toilets although the shower rooms need to be upgraded as some showerheads do not function that well. It will also be nice if they do a thorough cleaning of the shower rooms and the sinks as they looked dirty and unkempt.
There is a restaurant on the rooftop but the options are limited. If you exit through the back, it leads you the main road where you will find a wonderful cafe that serves good sausage meals. There are also several local options available if you want affordable options.
The price I paid was worth the quality of the stay. The hostel is known by tour operators and guides and so it was not a challenge when it was time for pick-up and drop off.
I loved the staff especially when I had to leave early in the morning to head to the port for my trip to El Nido. They arranged my transportation and made sure that I left the hostel on time.
Will I go back? Maybe not and it's not because I don't like it. It's just that I felt that my next stay should be in a private room for another worthwhile experience in Coron. But for those solo travelers on a budget, Dayon Hostel is your best bet in Coron in as far as affordable sleeping option is concerned.

ผผู้เข้าพักSecond booking with Vela Terraces and we made the same request to put us in a lower floor so we don’t have to climb all the stairs with our young toddler but unfortunately they were fully booked so we got a room on the 4th floor. It wasn’t that bad because the staff helped move ALL our luggage for us and we had 2 large hard suitcases plus a huge backpack carrier and multiple smaller bags which were all heavy. Very much appreciated the help! Since we knew about all the stairs from the reviews, there’s nothing to complain about. Despite no free upgrade because they were fully booked, the bed like the first time was very comfortable and the service was just as good as the first. The bathroom however wasn’t as nice as the Family room which was where we stayed during our first visit. It’s an open shower with a piece of glass that covers half the shower but water can still spray out. The bathroom light kept flickering and there were some ants. But all in all, it was still a good stay. AC worked well and they provided bottled water. If you want a better room, book the Family room on the 2nd floor! It makes a difference! The hotel is close to Dayon Kamo Food park which is a cute place with multiple food stalls. Great food, live music, love the atmosphere!
