The Central Hotel was a lovely property with a great location and amenities. The pool has a beautiful view. Can’t wait to return.

Hotel is a total rei-off. We needed to leave a day early due to a situation that could not be handled in Panama City. They would not refund our last night even though we weren't going to be there. Even talked to the Manager and he acknowledged that the Policy is wrong but wouldn't do anything about it. I asked him if his policy is to screw over his clients to have one extra night revenue and he said Yes and walked away.
Then we didn't get maid service on our last day even after I asked the maid.....I'm sure it was because I told the manager how unhappy I was!
The pool is very small and dirty, plus only a hand full of chairs.

Hotel is loud. There was a party going on inside hotel until 4 am. Room was very humid and a/c never seemed adequate. Tried lowering the thermostat but temperature in the room remained the same.

If you choose to stay anywhere else… you’ve made a mistake… the staircase is awesome… I know,,, he’s bragging about a staircase? Yes…. Phenomenal! This neighborhood is where you want to be. Walk everywhere, Uber is great, the nightlife is alright. Safe.

We had a great stay for 5 nights. We received a complimentary upgrade to king bed. 3 balcony ‘s as it was a corner unit.
quiet, fine linen, clean and bright. Fantastic shower. very hot during our stay, so nice to have swim before going out for dinner. Lots of restaurants and roof patios nearby.

The hotel and the location are perfect. Our only issue was that we (a group of 5) got in a few hours earlier, and unlike other hotels, they wouldn't let us use the amenities unless we paid for an extra day, even though we reserved two rooms. We ended up paying an extra day for one room, but then they didn't allow the other three guests to use or wait in our room until their room was ready. We just got from Rio and had a similar situation and the hotel didn't charge us extra and told us that we could all use the one room available until the second room was ready.

Beautiful, historic hotel in the middle of Casco Viejo. Everything walkable. Terrific staff.
But noise levels from the central lobby/dining area/evening party area are very disruptive as the music carries throughout the hotel. Noise canceling headphones didn’t even help us sleep.

Valet was great but that is the most positive thing I can say. We asked for a roll-away bed for our room and we were brought a plywood plank with a three- inch mattress. It was hard as a rock and impossible to sleep on. Coughing could be heard in the guest room beside us. Walls were very thin. Buffet hot food was not hot.
