This place is impressive. My girlfriends and I stayed in room 23. The rooms date back to the 60's. You can hear the other guess in their room, the pillows are stiff and I had to make my own. Functionality is way better than a motel by Howard Johnson at Niagara falls. The spa section is great, there's a sauna and two Jacuzzis. There's also a lounge with a bookshelf where you can read. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Even the front desk lady recommend us to eat at le saint-pub microbrasserie charlevoix. And for breakfast, we sat along other guess and enjoyed the history for this establishment by the bar tender. This is one place I recommend coming if you're in the area.

This is a hotel with much going for it : lovely staff (Mimi), well positioned (5 min walk into the center of town), fun spa area, nice “brunch” breakfast (you get what you are given - but lovely none the less). Our only gripe is that our room on the ground floor was very poor : paper thin walls so that you could hear everything (and I mean everything) in the room next door, no TV screen, no coffee making facilities. Very basic indeed. I have no idea if the other rooms in the hotel have the same issues, but be very careful which room you choose if you value quiet and privacy.

This characterful property is run by a really lovely and helpful couple. The rooms are clean and comfy enough but we found ours to be noticeably outdated, on the small side and with en suites that were very basic and pretty tight on space. Noise insulation between rooms also wasn’t too great. So fine as an overnighter but on our experience we probably wouldn’t head back.

Marvelous classic hotel in beautiful Baie St Paul . Proprietor Fanny is friendly and professional! Hotel has Spa snd hot tubs inside! Breakfast was excellent!!Close to downtown with shops and galleries. We will stay again

This place is fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming there. They were always willing to help. Loved the extras, like the spa, bar and breakfast included. We stayed two nights and enjoyed that it was located to the quaint shopping and restaurants downtown. We look forward to a return visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent two-night stay at La Grande Maison. A large, rambling historic home, it was cozy and inviting. Even though the weather was a somewhat dismal and rainy, the charms of Baie St-Paul - with its fine restaurants, shops and art galleries - brightened our wanderings through this pretty village. The staff at reception and in the breakfast room were welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Our breakfast (included) was generous and delicious. During this time of covid, we were asked for proof of our vaccinations and photo ID's - a requirement in Quebec which was reassuring and made us feel safe and secure. We had actually planned our one week getaway to the Charlevoix and Saguenay regions precisely because of this vaccination mandate and it was gratifying to see that it was being followed everywhere. We had booked a regular room which was nice, but on the small side. It did have everything we needed, however in hindsight, perhaps we should have booked a superior room - just to have more space to lounge a little. In any case, the auberge has a comfortable spa area with a lounge and gas fireplace that was incredibly lovely and relaxing. While we did not use the spa, we did sit with our computers in the lounge near the fire and enjoyed drinks there each night before going out to dinner. The wifi connection in our room was sporadic, but was good in the spa lounge, reception and breakfast room.

I booked a Deluxe room for our 2-night stay which was not worth the price we paid. The room was spacious but dark and dingy appearance with too many things not looked after. The bathroom was quite old and outdated, bedroom lights were flicking, the bathroom light did not have a light switch to turn off lights, the bathroom door was jammed, you need to keep the door closed tight to be able to sleep at night. The TV is much too small for the size of the room. Our room was located close to the spa, at night we heard humming from the hot tubs in our room. Overall we were not happy with paying more than $600.00 for a deluxe room that was everything but deluxe. The location is excellent and the staff is very friendly.

Great hotel and was close in walking distance to everything. I had mechanical issues with my car and they were very helpful to find a fantastic mechanic. The room was very clean and the breakfast was delicious!
