Glacier House Resort advertises itself as a very quiet getaway place, notwithstanding there’s an ATV/snowmobile adventure establishment on the premises. Okay if you’re into snowmobiling but if you’re looking for a quiet getaway? I doubt it. What you don’t see are the humongous power lines coming from the BC Hydro electric generating station that come behind the northern part of the resort. Yes, a very nice unspoiled view looking south, but some humongous power lines coming from the BC Hydro generating station a short distance away from the Columbia River. We were there for 5 nights in the so-called ”shoulder season” - the not so busy time of the year, notwithstanding there were always at least half a dozen visitors' cars in the parking lot. Our booking included a 'hot” breakfast. Given the price, it's what we expected. We got cold French toast on brown bread, cold Polish sausage, bagels that tasted like sausage. The Sterno pot underneath the warming pans had been on for at least an hour. I've had better breakfasts at Econolodge, Super 8, and Days Inns. There was the usual electric waffle pan and batter to make your own waffles. We discussed this and made some suggestions with the front desk, who took notes. Next day, I checked the offerings. The French toast had been replaced by frozen, not fresh, hash browns that tasted stale and the same Polish sausage. This time they were lukewarm but not very hot. We decided to get breakfast in town. I checked their offerings for the next 3 mornings. The same hash browns, the same Polish sausage and the same temp. Not exactly what we were looking for on a 5-night stay.

Very nice place in downtown Revelstoke. Prices are reasonable. Rooms have all you really need, Beds are comfy. Nice and clean units. It is quiet except the train but they don't run much at night. Walking distance to restaurants. Close to Trans Canada Highway. They include a box breakfast, but have juices, yogurts and coffee tea available. We enjoyed our stay there, staff is friendly. We will be back on our next travel. Make sure you reserve, there are not too many units available and it filles up fast, especially in the summer or winter season.
I would give this hotel a zero if I could, but the 1 star is for the front desk only. They were professional and nice and accommodating, but the cleaning staff needs to be fired. I’m surprised the health authority hasn’t been called. Doors don’t close tightly and latch to lock doesn’t work, the toilet isn’t sealed on the floor so You breathe in sewer smells, the walls are peeling and disgusting, I wiped the surfaces of both bathroom and table and TV cabinet and all had disgusting dirt on them. The beds…pull out a sheet of plywood and throw a sleeping bag on it and you’ll have just as much comfort!! Horrible!! One light in the whole room so dingy and dark. The hot tub was “under maintenance” the whole time so never got to use it and apparently this happens a lot according to reviews. The pool is supposed to be heated to 26 degrees of which it was not, glacial water is warmer. The pool area was disgusting!! The bathroom floors were nasty!! There was 1 bottle of shampoo for a family! For 250.00 a night if my hard-earned money could have been better accommodations! I will never stay here again and I won’t be recommending it to anyone!! No point in complaining to staff because according to reviews they don’t care. I’m thinking this is owner run, they don’t want to spend the money to repair/clean/fix up, run the hot tub, or heat the pool! Never again!! Oh and the vending machine is constantly down apparently, probably can’t afford to fill it.
