This ”Resort” was odd at best. We got to the hotel a little early to check-in. There was literally - no one there. A sign was on the front desk to call a number. So I called and the gentleman said that check-in was not until 4 pm and that my keys would be on the door at that time. He explained he was in town getting things. So we go have dinner since we had also found out that the dining room was closed for the season. We come back and still no one around. So we went up to the room and there were the keys. We go into a huge room - it was very nice and had a great view of the mountains. The yard was very messy though, random garbage left around, and miscellaneous boxes. Didn't look like anyone had cleaned up there all year. Then we found out that the Bar was also closed and the hot tub - Ugh...they are asking a pretty penny for this place and absolutely no amenities except for the pool - which was nice. Upon checking out the next morning, the owner was there. Said hello and asked if everything was ok. We explained how odd it was not to have anyone around, and how disappointing it was not to have a dining room or bar to go to in the evening. That was it, he said he had a tough time getting staff this time of year (May) - Perhaps update the website and be clearer about it. He didn't even offer up a discount...any of the downtown hotels would have been more welcoming I'm sure. Secret - we believe this new owner lives on site and his older children live in the offices - we did see them sneaking around.....so weird....where's Johnny?
