We book this through a travel website and not not checked the review, big mistake. Airconditioning in room has not worked in years, after 3 nights we were given a portable air conditioning unit, which on account of noise had to turn off at night. No food on offer except breakfast. Breakfast was ok 5 out of 7 days. Other days cold. Scrambled eggs could not be eaten as too hard. Selection was small. No choclate spread for children pancakes, and one morning pancakes were hard. We had not hot water for 3 days, on second day we were offered the use of a shower in another room. Not ideal. Picture that are up on the website must be of 10 years ago at least. Place is really run down now. No fire doors are kept closed. On a good note pools seem good, area around them could do with a clean. Also close to beach. Not a great hotel overall for family with young kids. Overall 2 star experience

The resort is beautiful, so many pools, the gardens have a variety of plants and the staff takes very good care in maintaining it in top shape. The reception staff is fairly friendly and some speak very good English but the dining room is different. The food at The Palm is good, the breakfast buffet is worth the 12euros. There is a steep hill to get to the main road so wear appropriate walking shoes. All in all I would recommend this Resort especially if its to use the pool and the activity. February/March is pre season so can't comment more.

Lovely stay in Paladim & Alagoa Mar. We had booked a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 people although basic, it was clean and spacious, equipped with kettle, microwave, toaster, fridge and 2 small hobs. We arrived at 11am and although check in wasn’t until 3pm, luggage storage/shower/changing facilities were available. Pool area was ok, however could do with an update as there were multiple tiles missing. When we were there you needed to be down before 8am to reserve a sunbed if you would like ones together, think the hotel should open the pool later to prevent this happening. Location is perfect, 10-15 mins walk from both the old town and new town. My family and I preferred the old town as the new town bar ***** was a bit too hectic for us🤣 I suggest downloading the uber or bolt app as taxis are cheap and readily available on these apps. Overall we enjoyed our time in albufeira and would stay in Paladim & Alagoa again and would recommend it if you are looking for somewhere basic, clean and convenient.

To say this place was awful is all I can do after my personal experience there recently, I certainly would never book to stay there again or recommend it. I booked a double room in their Guest House part of the complex. * The Reception is only open certain hours. You are supposed to be able to contact them outside those hours but I had to call them a couple of times and got no answer or help. It’s really impersonal and there’s no one around when you need them. * There is no facility to make hot drinks in your room. There was a bottle of water. You have to go to the breakfast room where a vending machine serves terrible quality drinks. You don’t want to have to walk around the hotel first thing in the morning to get hot drinks. *Room 521 was right by the door into reception and was noisy all night with people banging through into the corridor to get to their rooms. * The space immediately outside of the double windows in my room opened out on to the terrace for people sitting having breakfast. This was horrible and gave no privacy into the room at all. Thankfully it was raining but had it been sunny I would have had people sitting right up by my only window in the room. * They have waterproof mattress protectors on the bed which made it feel like you were sleeping wrapped in tin foil it was so hot and it crackled loudly every time you moved. * Pillows were either absolutely enormous and too big to put your head on or so flat and small they were useless. * No bathmat provided for the floor while showering, bit of a safety concern and I had to use a pool towel. No where to hang towels in the bathroom when you’ve used them…it was all just lacking in thought. * No waste bin in the bedroom * Horrid yellow lights in the room * It’s very dark and depressing inside. * Bright light over the door to highlight where the door was in the night but it lit the room up through the night making it hard to ignore and sleep. * Breakfast is only available from 8.30am which is very late. It was poor, stale bread and dirty jars with cereal in with a very poor selection of foods. Overall this was poor quality, grim and depressing and absolutely not worth the cost.
