The children’s pool with water slides was perfect for our 4 year old granddaughter. There are quieter areas too. We especially liked the Cafeteria to enjoy a sangria (or two) after the more hectic children’s pool. Yes the water is cold, but this is not unusual in resorts. We found the staff in all areas to be pleasant and helpful. The one bed apartments were more spacious than expected, with lovely garden views and sea glimpses. The half board option suited our family. Very varied choice at breakfast and dinner to suit all ages. Staff very attentive. A very enjoyable 5 day stay.

I booked a double room in their Guest House part of the complex. * The Reception is only open certain hours. You are supposed to be able to contact them outside those hours but I had to call them a couple of times and got no answer or help. It’s really impersonal and there’s no one around when you need them. * There is no facility to make hot drinks in your room. There was a bottle of water. You have to go to the breakfast room where a vending machine serves terrible quality drinks. You don’t want to have to walk around the hotel first thing in the morning to get hot drinks. *Room 521 was right by the door into reception and was noisy all night with people banging through into the corridor to get to their rooms. * The space immediately outside of the double windows in my room opened out on to the terrace for people sitting having breakfast. This was horrible and gave no privacy into the room at all. Thankfully it was raining but had it been sunny I would have had people sitting right up by my only window in the room. * They have waterproof mattress protectors on the bed which made it feel like you were sleeping wrapped in tin foil it was so hot and it crackled loudly every time you moved. * Pillows were either absolutely enormous and too big to put your head on or so flat and small they were useless. * No bathmat provided for the floor while showering, bit of a safety concern and I had to use a pool towel. No where to hang towels in the bathroom when you’ve used them…it was all just lacking in thought. * No waste bin in the bedroom * Horrid yellow lights in the room * It’s very dark and depressing inside. * Bright light over the door to highlight where the door was in the night but it lit the room up through the night making it hard to ignore and sleep. * Breakfast is only available from 8.30am which is very late. It was poor, stale bread and dirty jars with cereal in with a very poor selection of foods. Overall this was poor quality, grim and depressing and absolutely not worth the cost.

|1.15km กม.จากตัวเมืองFirst time staying at OS. Not the first time staying at Pine Cliffs as have been coming to this resort for a few years now. Hugo at concierge was SO helpful and friendly. Accommodation was spot on. Spacious, well maintained and airy. Comfortable beds and bedding. Plenty of towels and tea/coffee provided. Daily housekeeping and also helped by turndown too! One pool towel provided per person as long as you have a towel card (which is returned to you once you return your towel). One resort downside is parking - as the resort has rapidly increased over the past few years, and bearing in mind we visited late October, you may find a parking spot close to the OS or you’re stuck with a five minute walk away, after trying to source a parking spot!. Some cars are just badly parked (abandoned) and therefore prevents others parking next to them. Unsure how this will impact during the busier months? I really wouldn’t want to know! Good playground area which is open till late. Kids clubs still available which we used years ago and it still appears very popular. Tennis courts haven’t changed in years. Although still very busy, personally, l think they could all do with a lick of paint and a good ‘freshening up’. Book in advance as it get busy most days. Golf, as normal, is heavily booked in advance. The course remains stunning as ever! Whilst we were in the golf shop golfers were trying to book ahead for March 2024! The road through the resort is very busy, dark and many cars don’t regard folk walking on the side of the road (due to lack of pavements), and with minimal street lighting, it’s often hard to see walkers. I would bear this in mind if walking with prams or toddlers in tow, perhaps a light on the pram would be helpful. Trade vans in particular speed through the resort. When leaving the resort, again, be mindful as the road is unlit. However, once you get out onto the main street, all is fine. There is a small supermarket out on the main road. Caters for basics. If you have a car, there is an Aldi about five minutes drive from the resort. Altogether it was a nice break and the weather was glorious which is often a gamble in late October! Spa is lovely although no treatments were received on this trip, we used the saunas / jacuzzi pool. All were very impressive, clean and well maintained. Should we return, we will now only stay in the Ocean Suites!

|3.06km กม.จากตัวเมืองI think it should be illegal that they have this as a 5 star resort. It is more like a 3 star. Cleanliness - the hotel is dirty. Corridors, restaurants etc. the floors don’t get cleaned often. You will see a spillage sitting in the same place for hours. It is filthy. Food - horrendous. There is only one main buffet restaurant. If you want to eat the same thing day in, day out then you’ll be happy. The lack of variation is awful. The food is bland. And mostly cold. They just top up warm food occasionally on top of the cold food. Lunch is pretty much always going to be the same as dinner with a couple items swapped out. You will see the same items reappearing every other day. It is a help yourself drinks situation - once seated - get your own coffee (which is very watery & all machine), pour your own wine drinks etc. the same wine everyday. Food options are very limited. I ate chips, potatoes, pizza, fish fingers everyday for 5 days. They have 1 bottle of sparkling wine at breakfast but it isn’t there every day. Food will fall on the floor or be spilled and not get cleared for ages. Flies swarm the drinks machines. Plates are frequently dirty, alongside glassware. The page you are given when you check in claims there are morning snacks, afternoon snacks and midnight snacks in the buffet restaurant. I never saw these once during the stay. There is no where to get food outside of breaks, lunch & dinner. The lobby bar claims to be open all day, but we were asked to leave at 3pm with no where else to go. Entertainment each night is the same - a singer from 2030 to 2330. Some of which are very depressing songs all night. The hotel is very small and there is not much at all to do. If the weather is bad, you’re best just to sit in your room. Cocktails are machine made so they all taste weak & inauthentic. Housekeeping don’t sweep the floors when they make up your room or replace toiletries for example toilet tissue. I had a makeup stain on my bedding, they simply turned the sheet over and made the bed. When you check in they ask if you want lunch on that day or checkout day as you are not eligible for both. Once you check out they will not allow you to eat afterwards. I would never return to this hotel. I was also asked how my stay was when checking out - I said terrible but they had no response. Don’t know why they bother asking. The beach is also about a 10 minute walk away so I don’t know why this comes up as beachfront. The rooms are also very dark with minimal lighting. Hotel and rooms needs major refurbishment. Decor is old, damaged and looks awful. A lot of stains on walls, floors, curtains etc. There is also no help with luggage when you are arriving or leaving. You must manage everything alone.

The kitchen was in good condition and looked fairly new. However, sofa and other fittings looked worn and tired. The Accommodation is within a stone's through to the beach. Approximately 10 and 15 minutes stroll to the beach As we were slightly outside summer season. Only Bed & Breakfast option was provided. We found the range of food provided for Breakfast was to a good standard. Restaurant Staff were helpful and polite. The reception staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful in giving us advice on things do and places to visit in Portugal.

|4.63km กม.จากตัวเมืองThis hotel was by far the worst I've ever stayed in, and it completely ruined my holiday experience. Despite having a spacious suite, the layout was extremely unreasonable. A large portion of the room was wasted space, while the toilet area was unbearably small. The shower enclosure could barely fit two people, and the door failed to prevent water from escaping, resulting in a flooded floor outside. To make matters worse, the slippers provided were not only non-slip but made the floor even more slippery. I had a nasty fall as soon as I stepped into the bathroom, resulting in soaked clothes, a sore bottom, and a scraped hand from hitting the doorknob. If it weren't for my boyfriend grabbing hold of me, I shudder to think what could have happened if my head collided with the sink. The washbasin area was ridiculously tiny, barely leaving any space once a few cosmetic items were placed on it. Furthermore, the basin's drainage was slow. The toilet being positioned right next to the sink made it feel like bacteria could easily spread throughout the bathroom with a single flush. The quality of the paper towels was poor, and the provided shampoo and conditioner were unpleasant to use. As for the bedroom, I couldn't believe that in a supposed 5-star hotel, the twin beds were just two single beds pushed together. This caused us to get stuck in the gap between the beds during the night. Furthermore, the duvet was as thin as a sheet, and the mattress lacked the necessary softness and flexibility for a comfortable sleep. Overall, the sleeping experience was subpar. To top it all off, I am filled with anger because I missed the abysmal breakfast buffet's operating hours. I just wanted to have a good sleep and I woke up at almost 10:30am and couldn't get the breakfast in the hotel. It is beyond my comprehension why the hotel would only offer breakfast until 10:30 am. In my experience, most hotels of this caliber have breakfast service until at least 11 am, considering that guests may want to sleep in and still enjoy a meal. It feels incredibly impersonal and inconsiderate to force customers to wake up before 10 am or risk missing breakfast. I paid nearly 400 pounds for a 3-night stay at this hotel, which is situated in the middle of nowhere with unattractive decor and subpar facilities. The service provided was devastating, and I deeply regret booking this hotel. To those reading this review, I advice that if you don't want to waste a significant amount of money and ruin your mood, please avoid this disgraceful establishment that dares to call itself a 5-star hotel. It is nothing short of a scam.

The staff are all so friendly and helpful, bending over backwards to make the experience all the more pleasurable. We stayed in a sea view room on the 3rd floor and it was amazing! Great size room with lovely bathroom and rituals products. Cleaning staff were so lovely and kept our room spruced up throughout our stay. The food was really good. The selection was so good, always something for everyone, I prefer fish and my husband prefers meat and neither were disappointed. We also had a meal at il basilica which was great. We spent most of the week relaxing by the pool or on the beach and walking. The pool area is perfect for reading a book, plenty of loungers. The beach is accessed by around 120 steps which we loved but I can see they may be an issue if not so mobile or able. The beach is incredible! We walked to vila moura which took around 2 hours, had lunch and walked back. There was also a lovely walk along the cliff top in the other direction going via the town of olhos de agua. This walk was spectacular! It takes you all the way to Maria Luisa beach via a restaurant on the beach called passaro azul ( definitely worth a visit). We spent a morning at the indoor pool, sauna and steam room which was nice as it was raining outside. My husband also used the gym which was adequate. The town is sweet with a selection of restaurants and shops plus a small supermarket for supplies! All in all we had a fantastic 10days and will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great holiday!

We booked 5 nights at Hotel Da Gale, Largo Dos Luisadas, Albufeira, with return flights from Gatwick to Faro with WizzAir booked as part of the holiday package that was being offered by Lastminute - all paid up front. My dad had noticed that we would be arriving at the hotel after the official check-in time and so he contacted the hotel directly, both by phone and via email, to request a late check-in. In fact, he ended up sending 3 separate emails informing the hotel that we would be arriving late after the flight was delayed by several hours, and he phoned the hotel twice while we were flying out. To our great surprise and dismay, on arriving at the hotel we were informed that no rooms were available, and that we had to walk to alternative accommodation in a block of tourist apartments, where the room that we were given was dirty and infested with ants, and all this happened at 2am. This was not a good first experience abroad for the two of us! My dad spent the next 12 hours trying to talk with someone who could help. After wasting a lot of time on unhelpful online chats, and several international calls to the hotel, he eventually managed to get a customer service agent from Lastminute.com to phone him - after 3 separate calls with that agent, they ended up offering him the choice of either a £50 Lastminute voucher OR £30 refunded to his credit card - it was both rude and poor business practice that the two offers of compensation were not only of very little value, but also that they weren't for the same amount! Begrudgingly, he accepted the £30 refund because, after this experience it is very unlikely that we will book with Lastminute again. I was hoping that the hotel might offer some compensation directly to us, but we still haven't heard anything back from them, and I understand that as alternative accommodation was given, that they feel that they have fulfilled their legal obligation to us. Where is the customer service in that attitude?!

I wanted a cheap sunshine break after all the bad weather in the U.K. this summer and having come back from a luxury hotel in Majorca I checked this out. I’ll be honest, the rooms aren’t great but we came for sun so wasn’t in the room for a lot of the time so that was fine. We had 2 single beds and a Juliette balcony overlooking the Main Street, some would complain of noise, it didn’t bother us. Rooms were cleaned/beds made 2 out of the 3 days we were there. Added bonus was having kitchen area with a fridge/kettle etc. I’d read the bad reviews before we went and I was dubious, but I’d say if your after a cheap bit of sunshine and somewhere to sleep/shower this place is a good base - as long as you aren’t expecting luxury!!! The location is fantastic. We were a little worried about checking out after reading about the random reception opening hours, but sure enough there was someone there at 3am to take our key and refund the deposit we paid - **please be aware this is €200, which shocked us as we weren’t informed til we got there - we paid it as they wouldn’t budge, but it was back in my bank within 3 days** I would return if I could get a good price again, location is perfect and we met some lovely people round the roof pool. If your not fussy you’ll be fine here. Also all the lads we met on reception were lovely and super helpful x

|2.42km กม.จากตัวเมืองAfter reading all the bad reviews I honestly thought it was going to be bad but I was pleasantly surprised when we got there, staff were friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean and tidy. It was walking distance to the town and the beach if you turn right when you come out the hotel. If you turn left there’s a shop where you can buy food etc. the shower was amazing with good water pressure. I would’ve liked a rail to hold on to but that’s my preference but wouldn’t mark it down because of it. There was all the items in the kitchen to cook if you wanted to and a restaurant downstairs if you didn’t. The food wasn’t the best but it was edible. If you’re fussy I would say to walk to the town or jump in a tuck tuck because bars and restaurants are in abundance. There is the tour bus you can hop on. We didn’t use it ourselves but heard good reviews. We only went for a long weekend away but should definitely stay here again.

|1km กม.จากตัวเมืองAfter a 6am flight we arrived at Hotel 11.30 am to be informed room not available until 4pm (not a good start) but did partly understand rooms have to be cleaned, at previous hotels they usual check but receptionist not helpful. Room very clean with small balcony, with sliding door which wouldn’t lock. There was a school to the left with screaming infants, 2 derelict houses & unkept yards, thankfully above that a good sea view. 2 chairs on balcony with a very small table with all the varnish peeling off!! In the room there was 2 single beds, with mostly bamboo style furnishings & mirror BUT there was a pink/orange looking bed settee, dark wood coffee table, a dining chair with bright green seat another bright green bucket chair. One wall was painted bright yellow, 2 horrid small old fashioned pictures. The curtains appeared to be new BUT were pale blue. It was a miss match of colours not what a 4 star should be and lastly only plastic coat hangers of all shapes & sizes that previous guests had left!! The pool area was good as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast lovely, staff in dining room very helpful. But would not return room NOT 4star.

Travelling as a young family, we felt the room was suitably equipped, exceeding our expectations in what was included in the kitchen. The rooms were immaculate and cleaned thoroughly each day if required. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, always saying hi when we passed through. The pools were great for both adults and young children as well as the indoor pool which we loved when the weather was a little on/off. Mini market well stocked and open until 5:30 (any point beyond that, there's a friendly corner shop just across) A special shout out to Bellux entertainment (from Emily Blue & Thomas!) who came with such energy! We used the children's club on a few occasions and loved how friendly Hugo and Bea were (as well as others who we didn't know the names of!). We mentioned about being sad there wasn't a mini disco and sure enough they organized one for the next day, followed by a musical drumming session which the kids loved. Honestly one of our favourite stays, something for everyone and a really well run place. Thank you :)

We were instantly wary to see a group of 16 men on the transfer heading to the same location. Not the start of the relaxing holiday we wanted. Had we been aware that large groups would be here we would not have booked this. Would be good if this was mentioned on the SMY and tour operators’ website. We felt very uncomfortable from checking in. The apartment was clean and kitchen well kitted out. Shame we were on the ground floor as heard everything being scraped on the floors above us, money being dropped and people being sick not to mention the loud music and shouting (inside and out) and being overlooked by groups of men. The air con mentioned was only in the living room with a fan in the bedroom. Had to report ants on the worktops. Walls were marked and dinted from doors slamming and had a dirty unstable sofa bed. Was kitted out in cheap Ikea furniture which suggests damages often happen as it’s easy to replace. The holiday price didn’t reflect this! Had plenty of towels to last until they were changed on day 4. The shower over the bath was just a shower attachment that sprayed water all over, a simple adjustable shower holder would solve this. Noise echoed all round the blocks with people drunkenly shouting from balconies to mates etc and swearing (total lack of respect for anyone else all day and night.) This wasn’t all Brits either. The ”rules” only seemed to be followed if complaints were made e.g .noise. The couple of times we tried to relax by the pool were spoilt by groups loudly discussing their drunken conquests, shouting, swearing, planning to take over the pool for a stag do which resulted in females being *****ped naked by the pool the following day in front of young families. The rest of the time we went to the beach to escape. We felt very sorry for the young families and everyone else trying to enjoy the facilities which we all paid for. We’ve also never stayed anywhere where non residents were allowed to enter on evenings and stay from the people we saw wandering about asking how to leave - despite security needing to let you in after 12 at night. Outside was surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars and 2 lovely beaches. Staff were lovely. Ideally located for a restful holiday but SMY seems to be trying to please everyone and sadly wouldn't stay again.

Yes the room was small, but it was cleaned every day and fresh towels, had enough room for the pair of us to get ready in and a fantastic shower. We were on the third floor, couldn't hear any noise from outside when the patio doors were shut and the air con was great. The staff were fantastic, the roof terrace is brilliant and the bar staff working couldn't do enough to help. There is some noise in the hotel but it probably echoes up the stairs, something you can't stop as it's tilled and marbled. It's in the centre of the old town, 2 minutes from the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants. Right near the taxi rank too.
