The hotel has interesting decor (the mermaid sitting in reception made me look twice!), the staff are fantastic, the bed is really comfortable, the breakfast could not be better, and basically everything is done to make you feel like a welcome and honoured guest to this beautiful part of the Netherlands. I don't think I have received better service anywhere, from catering to my grandson's dietary requirements to recommending where to hire a bike or buy the best cheeses. It is one thing to believe the breakfast fare is fresh, another to watch as the meats are sliced on a hand driven slicer, to make your own orange juice from the oranges in baskets next to the machine, and to see the crates of fruit being delivered from which the fruit salad is made! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, I normally don't sleep well in hotels but this one is an exception, and the elegant sofa was a delight. I left feeling as though I had been visiting with friends who enjoyed looking after me.

A clean hotel, good location, a few minutes walk from the main square and about ten minutes from the train station. My room was a decent size and cleaned every day. No lift but I knew that,and it was no problem for me but could be if you are elderly with luggage. You could hear doors closing but apart from that it was a quiet hotel. If I came to Delft again, I would stay here.

I stayed in the suite - the hotel's largest room - for two nights in May. This hotel is certainly the most upscale option in Delft. The design details of the room were impressive - if aesthetics are something you value in a hotel stay, Hotel ****naal delivers. I loved the soaking tub in the room, and the additional seating area in front of the oversized window overlooking the canal. The TV set up at the foot of the bed was jarring with the rest of the room design, I wished that there was a way to push the TV stand down so that it did not block the visibility of the rest of the room. I liked the bluetooth speaker/record player, although I was confused because it was nonfunctional (the needle was missing) yet came with two vinyls. It did work as a speaker. I enjoyed daily breakfast and appreciated that there were many delicious options available including on-demand hot options. Cons: I wished there had been somewhere to lock a bike in the hotel's courtyard versus on the street. It was loud outside at night, and sound carried into the room. This didn't bother me, but some guests might have taken issue. My friend who lives in the area noted that there's a fraternity on the same block. Classes had just ended, so maybe the revelry isn't an issue normally. The hotel had very limited onsite bar/dining options outside of breakfast. I went down to order a cocktail 30 minutes before closing, and was told they were only able to offer beer or wine at that point. I'm assuming because they had already done bar cleanup for the night, but still... I was surprised given the upscale positioning of the hotel. Overall, I really appreciated my stay at Hotel ****naal and found the experience quite serene and elevated. Book the suite!

We stayed for 2 nights in a Comfort View room. The room was fine as was the view. In order to get a bathtub we changed to a room with two single beds pushed together, it wasn't a problem as they didn't move much. There is traffic noise at the front of the building and coach park noise at the back but it didn't spoil our visit. The church bells rang hourly but that's one of Delft s charms. The location for city explorers was good. There is a Plus supermarket 400m away. We didn't use the hotel restaurant or bar as there's plenty of options in the centre of town. Our biggest disappointment with our room was the lack of a fridge. We felt we'd spent enough to get one but they aren't available in Comfort rooms. Also there was no power outlet on one side of the bed, which was an irritation when charging phones.

We booked the Comfort Deluxe room and it worked out well. This room had a shower only which was what we wanted. The room was modern and well laid out. It was very clean except that the floors were pretty dusty. The hotel was easy to get to off of the expressway. The free parking was the biggest bonus of this hotel and the main reason we chose it. This definitely feels like a business persons hotel. Every time we came through the lobby there were a lot of very professionally dressed people. We were there during the week so it might be different on the weekends. We definitely stood out as tourists.
