The compound and apartment are both very nice. Check-in was not difficult for us but only because we used WeChat and spoke Mandarin. Amenities were sufficient, though the kitchen lacked a microwave. The kitchen initially also lacked cooking supplies but our host provided them upon our request. The host is very responsive on WeChat. The compound has a playground and a few shops, and there are plenty of small restaurants just outside the compound. The location of the compound is right across the Chaobai river from Beijing, very close to one of the three bridges in the area. Crossing the bridge into Beijing by car requires passing a border check station which is slightly inconvenient as a foreigner since you will likely be required to go into the station to register every time. However, after the first crossing, subsequent crossings were very fast for us (1-2min processing time) and our rideshare drivers waited for us with no problems. Most of the time, the compound is ~20-25min by car to LuCheng subway station in Beijing, which is currently the closest subway station to the compound. However, during the morning rush hour on workdays, the border check station going into Beijing will have traffic jams up to 30+min. A rideshare (DiDi or Hello Ride) to/from LuCheng subway station costs around 20-30CNY each way. There are also public buses that go directly to/from LuCheng subway station but they only run during rush hour, and passengers still have to get off at the border check station for processing. This border check station is currently a big inconvenience, but current road and subway constructions in the area may alleviate this inconvenience in the near future. Currently, it is difficult to find short term apartment rentals that accept foreigners in/near Beijing, so this stay was great value for money, despite us having paid ~2-3x the cost of rent for locals, it was still priced below tiny rooms in most Beijing hotels.

For convenience, I am leaving my review in English🇬🇧, Russian🇷🇺, and Chinese🇨🇳. 🇬🇧We stayed here for three days and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was very warm and homely, which made us feel relaxed and comfortable throughout our stay. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. They were always willing to help with any requests and made us feel well taken care of. Our room was the smallest one available, but it was cozy, clean, and comfortable. The property itself is quite spacious, with two lovely courtyards where guests can relax. Barbecue facilities are provided, and there are plenty of tables and chairs, making it a great place to spend time with family or friends. The swimming pool was a bit too cold for our liking, but that was not a big issue 😊 Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this place to others. 🇷🇺Мы отдыхали здесь три дня и остались очень довольны. Нам особенно понравилась теплая, домашняя атмосфера, благодаря которой отдых получился уютным и комфортным. Хозяева очень доброжелательные и гостеприимные. Они всегда готовы помочь и откликаются на любые просьбы. Наш номер был самым маленьким, но при этом очень уютным, чистым и комфортным. Территория большая и ухоженная, есть два дворика для отдыха. Гостям предоставляют всё необходимое для барбекю, а также много столиков и стульев, где можно приятно провести время с семьей или друзьями. โรงแรมตั้งอยู่ตรงทางเข้าเขตทัศนียภาพเจี้ยนซานหลิง (เดินประมาณ 20 นาทีถึงทางเข้า ซึ่งเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นการปีนกำแพงเมืองจีน) เพื่อไปที่นั่น เราเลือกนั่งรถไฟจากปักกิ่งเป่ยไปยังกู่เป่ยโข่ว แล้วจึงติดต่อเจ้าของที่พักเพื่อขอให้มารับ เจ้าของที่พักใจดีและให้การต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่นมาก ถึงขนาดเสนออัพเกรดห้องพักให้เราฟรีด้วย โรงแรมสะอาดและน่าอยู่ มีร้านอาหารอยู่ชั้นล่าง สะดวกมากเพราะบริเวณใกล้เคียงไม่มีอะไรอย่างอื่นเลย อาหารอร่อยและราคาสมเหตุสมผล ขอบคุณค่ะ ฉันจะกลับมาพักอีก 😊

Our stay at Shanhai Premium Guesthouse was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience! The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. It had a separate kitchen with some appliances and seasonings provided. The heater was kept on at all times for warmth. The price was excellent value. The service from the staff was outstanding, from room maintenance and ski advice to purchasing passes. The ski lift and gondola access was conveniently located just across the road from the building. Thaiwoo Resort is also easily accessible from Taizicheng train station, a 5-minute taxi ride. There are cafes and restaurants within the resort, but for fresh food, you'll need to go to a supermarket in town, 25 km away.

I believe my friends and I spent Christmas eve here. Being an exchange student from England, far from home, and my friends and classmates from Latvia and Cambodia, we needed somewhere homely and comfortable to stay. This place was exactly what we needed. We stayed here for one night in the middle of winter as part of our road trip from Beijing to Wutaishan, following the sections of the Great Wall. We turned up after dark, we were welcomed with a big smile and slept with ease after the long drive. In the morning I woke up early, found a spot in the courtyard garden and opened my Christmass cards. The owners dog immediately rolled over to be petted and for the next hour I had good company, drank tea and enjoyed the peace. The owners awoke to find me outside, probably thought I was a ****** and so, immediately lit their fire in the garden. They saw me drinking tea so got the iron kettle boiling over the heat of the flames. My mates awoke to this and joined me and the boss by the fire. The outside temperature was negative, but we were warm, happy and ready for the day ahead - exploring Baishishan. The boss also showed us his great tea collection. I want to thank the owners for a short but great stay and I highly recommend. I would like to come back in spring to see their courtyard in full bloom.

Perfect service, clean and modern facilities, unbeatable location. I originally booked a small budget room as I was travelling solo and only needed a room for a night after hiking the Great Wall. I received a free room upgrade and I was so grateful as I was so much more knackered after my hike than I’d anticipated! The bed was comfortable and spacious, the shower and bathroom was modern and clean. The location was a few minute walk away from the Jinshanling gate. Perfect for catching the sunrise at the Great Wall in the morning. The restaurant run by the homestay host family was delicious and each serving is generous. I had stewed cabbage and pork and serving of rice and it was exactly what I needed after my hike! Flawless experience and a major part of an experience of a lifetime. I hope to stay here again next time.

The location of the hotel is excellent if you want to visit the Great Wall. Chow his mother and his family and staff go above and beyond to ensure you have the best stay. We had only 2 nights and woke up early for sunrise to club the wall and a chow helped us arrange everything. Tis section of the wall is with very few people, and truly magnificent seeing the sun rise. Absolutely loved it. I was a single um travelling with my 2 children and the room was spacious, clean and the food was beyond tasty. They got me a little cake as it was my birthday and it was incredibly thoughtful and a lovely gesture. Thank you Chiw

This was our first time visiting Aranya, and we chose this family-friendly vacation rental. Overall, we had a great stay. The host was very kind, and the property manager was responsive and helpful. We stayed in Phase 6, which has a great location—just a short walk to the beach. The room even included beach toys for the kids, which they loved. It was also very close to the bike rental area and plenty of restaurants, making everything very convenient. Since we arrived late on our first night, we noticed the bed sheets needed a little more attention, We contacted the host and property manager, and they quickly arranged for housekeeping to take care of it early next day. We really appreciated their prompt response. Hopefully, the Aranya housekeeping team can be a bit more careful in the future. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again.
