ทำเลที่ตั้งของโรงแรมดีมาก อากาศก็ดี เหมาะกับการพาเด็กๆ ออกมาเที่ยวชมพิพิธภัณฑ์วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี และเดินไปหาดทรายแม่น้ำ ซึ่งอยู่ห่างออกไปประมาณ 200 เมตร ตอนกลางคืนก็สามารถเดินไปถนนคนเดินและตลาด咸安坊ได้ไม่ไกล พนักงานโรงแรมให้บริการด้วยความกระตือรือร้น เตรียมของใช้ในห้องน้ำและรองเท้าแตะสำหรับเด็กไว้ล่วงหน้า ห้องพักสะอาด! ห้องฟิตเนสและห้องซักรีดอยู่ชั้น 16 สะดวกสบายมาก!

ทำเลที่ตั้งดีครับ ชั้นล่างเป็นห้างสรรพสินค้า ตรงข้ามเป็นถนนของกิน ช่วงฤดูร้อนรถติดมากเพราะกำลังซ่อมถนน พนักงานต้อนรับบริการดีครับ แต่ไม่เข้าใจว่าทำไมต่ออายุการเข้าพักอีกหนึ่งคืนต้องเพิ่มเงิน 300 บาท สุดท้ายผมเลยจองผ่านแพลตฟอร์ม ซึ่งห้องวิวแม่น้ำดีกว่า แถมได้อาหารเช้าและราคาถูกกว่าไม่กี่สิบบาท ผมแจ้งพนักงานต้อนรับว่าขอพักห้องเดิมดีกว่า จะได้ไม่ต้องย้ายห้อง แต่พนักงานบอกว่าไม่ได้ ผมก็เลยเก็บของ พอขึ้นไปบนห้อง พนักงานก็โทรมาบอกว่าตกลงให้พักห้องเดิมได้ และหวังว่าจะให้คะแนนดีๆ ผมคิดว่าการบริการที่จริงใจสำคัญกว่าสิ่งอื่นใด หวังว่าโรงแรมจะปรับปรุงนะครับ

เข้าพักสามคืน ประสบการณ์ที่ได้ค่อนข้างหลากหลายครับ สองคืนแรกพักชั้นกลาง วิวแม่น้ำ 270 องศา ห้องพักได้รับการดูแลเป็นอย่างดี พื้นที่กว้างขวาง อุปกรณ์ในห้องน้ำดูใหม่และเงางาม มีปลั๊กไฟนานาชาติและพอร์ตชาร์จ USB-C ซึ่งสะดวกมากครับ แต่คืนสุดท้ายพักห้อง Executive Floor วิวแม่น้ำ 180 องศา กลับไม่ค่อยประทับใจ ห้องค่อนข้างแคบและการจัดวางไม่เหมาะสม ห้องน้ำกินพื้นที่เยอะมาก แต่โต๊ะ ตู้เสื้อผ้า และส่วนห้องนอนกลับเล็กนิดเดียว ที่วางกระเป๋าเดินทางวางได้แค่กระเป๋าใบเล็กขนาด 20 นิ้วเท่านั้นครับ ก๊อกน้ำมีคราบสนิมสีเหลือง แอร์ก็ไม่เย็น ช่วงบ่ายแดดส่องตรงเข้ามาในห้องจนรู้สึกเหมือนอยู่ในเตาอบ ควรปรับปรุงการบำรุงรักษาห้องพักให้ดีขึ้นครับ ในส่วนของการบริการ คุณป้าแม่บ้านน่ารักมากครับ ให้ผ้าคลุมชักโครกและอ่างอาบน้ำแบบใช้แล้วทิ้งมาให้ด้วย พนักงานที่ Executive Lounge ก็บริการดีและกระตือรือร้น ค็อกเทลที่ชงสดๆ ในเลานจ์อร่อยดีครับ การได้นั่งดื่มค็อกเทลพร้อมชมการแสดงแสงสีเป็นอะไรที่ผ่อนคลายมากครับ

She was proactive in ensuring we had everything we needed, making our experience even more enjoyable. Additionally, Manager APRIL deserves high praise for all the wonderful arrangements she made for our visit.  Conclusion:** Somerset Hotel is a lovely place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the city. First impressions - Exterior and lobby: Modern, clean, and uncluttered. The lobby feels calm, not trying too hard to impress you, which is nice after a long train ride. The check-in process was smooth, with staff who spoke enough English to help, but not so much that you felt talked down to. - Location: Pretty convenient depending on what you’re here for. It isn’t in the center of Xiangyang’s busiest streets, but you’re within a comfortable walk or short ride to key spots, plus there are eateries nearby that aren’t overhyped tourist traps. Room and comfort - The room itself was a solid 4-star vibe: tidy, well-lit, and surprisingly quiet for a hotel in what feels like a busy area. The bed was comfortable—firm enough to support a good night’s sleep but soft enough that you don’t feel like you’re lying on a board. - Amenities: Decent desk space if you’re traveling for work, reliable Wi-Fi, and a reasonable layout. The bathroom was clean with good water pressure and a practical layout. A few small things felt a touch “budget-first” like standard toiletries and a shower curtain rather than a glass enclosure—but nothing deal-breaking. - Cleanliness: Overall good. Housekeeping did a thorough job during my stay, and I didn’t notice any telltale corners being overlooked. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable dropping your gear and not worrying about dirt or mess. Service - Front desk and staff: Friendly and helpful. They stood by for recommendations on dining and local spots without turning the conversation into a sales pitch. 1. Hotel location is perfect as the Three Gorges Tourist Center is just diagonal opposite the hotel, and Wanda Shopping Mall is also just next to it. 2. The hotel is new, and the smell of the new wooden furniture is too strong and I guess that's why some of the doors of the unoccupied room (included mine) were open which I personally felt a bit uncomfortable as any guess may just step in to any room to do something silly. 3. I stayed for 3 nights, and 1st 2 nights was ok but on the 3rd night, someone checked-in and occupied next to my room, I was in the middle of my sleep and suddenly a piercing sound entered my ears, the sound last for almost 1 min and it seems not ending and so I contacted the counter to seek for help, the counter staff explained that the location of the toilet of room# 1310 is next to the bedframe of room# 1309, they can send me the ear plug for time being and let me change the room the next day. I told them I will be checking out the next day and I am not use to sleep with an ear plug, I hope the sound will end soon and I also tell the staff to escalate this matter up. During my check-out, the counter staff had asked how was my stay and I told her the incident too. I told her that I am not happy especially when the hotel said they can help me to change the room on the next day, my comment was if the hotel already know of this problem, so why are they still arrange guest to stay in room# 1310?? At the end of the day, I am being given some snacks and small souvenirs and 2 bottles of mineral water as compensation. My question to the hotel: why put the blame on the design/layout and not employee training?? Why you know this is the problem but yet still allow the problematic room to be occupied? For the seek of the reputation of the hotel, please shut down the problematic room until you fixed the problem!

This hotel is wonderful, beds and rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The staff were exceptional kind, especially Claire Shang, who was working at the front desk. She speaks fluent English and a number of the staff know English as well. Every time I have family or friends visit me, I get them a room at this hotel. Can’t recommend it enough. Plus the breakfast is cheap but yummy, and you can order specific dishes you want like an omelette or scrambled eggs. Plus local Chinese dishes. Also they have a cute robot that can bring amenities to your room if you need them.
