Nice hotel in a quiet location. Check in was simple enough but we did feel pressured to pre-book times for breakfast and facilities on the spot. I understand in the really busy periods, booking is probably a good idea but there was us and maybe 2 other cars in the car park. The place was dead but we still had to book a breakfast slot. Room was clean and had a nice view, the complimentary chocolates and Port left in the room was a nice touch! Wasn't much in the surrounding area but we wanted a quiet couple of nights and we definitely got that.

We had passed Chaves many times on the autovia on previous visits to N Portugal but never visited. This, our first visit, was very enjoyable, especially our night spent at the Premium Hotel. Not pre-booked but just dropped by. Very pleasant reception staff who managed to give us a disabled persons equipped room as my wife had in the last week or two an operation for a fractured ankle and was on crutches. Room very comfortable and in the morning the best breakfast selection we have ever had in any hotel be it 5* or other. In addition they have free underground garage parking . Can hearterly recommend this hotel to anyone entering N Portugal from Spain looking for a pleasant stopover.

I don't know where to start really. The whole experience at Vidago Palace was truly perfect. From every member of staff, food in all the restaurants/bar, bedrooms where I had the best 4 nights sleep that I had in ages, the grounds and the excursions. If you want a special holiday or short escape, visit here. You won't be disappointed.

Hotel com uma temperatura ambiente extremamente fria, corredores gelados, quarto com uma temperatura desagradável !!! O spa estava cheio de pessoas com crianças a saltar para a piscina, a fazer imenso barulho, a comer dentro do spa e a ocupar todas as espreguiçadeiras !!! A água de ambas as piscinas estava gelada, os jatos de água não funcionavam, a sauna estava fria para a temperatura habitual e o banho turco cheirava mal !!! Um fim de semana que era supostamente para relaxar e viemos doentes e super arrependidos !!! Uma verdadeira desilusão !!! Não recomendo !!!

Um hotel maravilhoso com tudo o que precisamos para relaxar. Com ótimas condições e serviços. Os funcionários são muito atenciosos e profissionais. Adoramos a experiência, por isso, voltaremos mais vezes. Gostamos muito de tudo, desde o quarto, piscinas, jacuzzi, o pequeno-almoço e o jantar. Tem também a vantagem de estar a poucos metros das termas/balneário de Vidago. É só subir a rua. Estivemos 3 noites. Parabéns e muito obrigada por tudo. Até à próxima!

โรงแรมตั้งอยู่ในทําเลที่ดีและสามารถมองเห็นทิวทัศน์ที่สวยงามจากระเบียง ห้องของเราอยู่ริมถนน แต่เงียบมาก โปรแกรมครึ่งบอร์ดนั้นยอดเยี่ยม อาหารเย็นรวมถึง couvert ไวน์ สลัดหรือซุปอาหารหลักและของหวาน เยี่ยมไปเลย อาหารเช้าเป็นเรื่องปกติ แต่ทุกอย่างสดใหม่และมีให้เลือกมากมาย เราไม่ต้องการเครื่องปรับอากาศและหน้าต่างก็ดีมาก Wi-Fi เป็นข้อเสียเพียงอย่างเดียวเพราะมันมักจะสกปรก

โรงแรม 4 * ที่สามารถพูดได้อย่างรวดเร็วว่าดูที่ 5 เพราะมันสมควรได้รับอย่างน้อยก็สําหรับการเข้าพักในเชิงบวกของฉัน โรงแรมตั้งอยู่ในสถานที่ที่เงียบสงบและค่อนข้างเงียบสงบและเป็นสถานที่ที่มีคุณภาพทันสมัยและน่าดึงดูด ห้องพักทันสมัย สะดวกสบาย มีเพียงไฟบนหลังคา เฟอร์นิเจอร์ไม่เพียงพอ เห็นได้ชัด นอนสบายดี มีช่องทีวี ห้องน้ําและห้องน้ําทันสมัย ด้านล่างทุกอย่างยอดเยี่ยมมาก ในตัวโรงแรมเองเน้นว่ายิมที่ดีมากสําหรับโรงแรมสระว่ายน้ําขนาดใหญ่มาก แต่บทเรียนสําหรับเด็กทําให้เวลาพักผ่อนไม่เป็นที่พอใจเพราะเสียงดัง สุดท้าย ตัวโรงแรมเองก็น่าอยู่มากด้วยรายละเอียดที่เรียบง่าย แต่ทันสมัยและใช้งานได้จริง ซึ่งอาหารเช้าก็เป็นตัวแปรบวกในแง่ของความหลากหลายที่พบและอาหารสด

I was stunned by this hotel. Set in rural Portugal, near the Spanish border, this spa resort is beautiful. Very modern, clean, well equipped throughout, incredibly welcoming staff and superb food in the restaurant. The hotel is the perfect mix of old and new as it is set on an old vineyard, with modern extensions which complement the original 1700's building. Outside the back side is a huge stone terrace which extends the whole width of the 1700's original building with views of the mountains and spa pool and beautiful gardens. The old part of the hotel is magnificent, but we also enjoyed the comfort of our modern room which had a huge terrace overlooking the valley. Everyone working there was friendly and efficient, and the owner spoke English perfectly. I would really recommend this place to anyone visiting northern Portugal. It made for a great relaxing break for my older parents in there 80’s to relax and enjoy the slower pace from Lisbon and before moving on to Porto on a 12 day vacation. The attention to detail and 'nothing's a problem' attitude from everyone we come into contact with is just exceptional. The breakfast is plentiful and has a great selection. We were very happy with the breakfast which offered a large variety of fruit and breads, cheese, ham, several types of jam, as well as cereal and yogurt. The evening meals are so good that you can't stop eating! The manager/owner, Fernando, is the most gracious host that will attend to your every need, while assuring your quality experience is filled with lasting memories and a strong desire to return again. In the evenings we dined in the hotel restaurant. Fernando was truly a phenomenal host, who made us feel welcome. On one of the evenings, he started us off with local sausages and cheese along with some local port from the local vineyard. He made excellent recommendations for our wines and did not disappoint with his selections. The food was delicious. We ate there every night for 4 nights, and everything kept meeting and exceeding our expectations. The beef is something that the region is known for, and it was delicious. Fernando also took us on a tour of the impressive 17th century wine making that uses filtration and gravity. The preservation of the original wine making is located in the lower area that is used for wedding receptions and large parties. The way it is incorporated into the new modern areas was impressive. I will be visiting Portugal in the future and will be re-visiting Fernando's Hotel Rural Casas Novas. We truly enjoyed our stayed here while we visited local vineyards, Chaves and Peneda-Geres National Park.
