ผผู้เข้าพักA decent hostel in a not-so-far location from the centre. The kitchen and common areas are specious enough and kept clean daily regardless of careless people that were not taught how to clean after themselves. There’s parking available free of charge which is great with an alternative to park on neighbouring streets if full. The beds are not the best, very wobbly and noisy when you turn or tried to climb up. Separate sockets and lights by each bed are great. There are lockers but you need your own bad lock. Staff was polite and friendly.
ผผู้เข้าพักI am writing to formally express my profound disappointment and dissatisfaction with the service provided by the Crowne Plaza hotel in Christchurch, New Zealand. My booking was for 5 rooms to accommodate a group of 9 family and friends, including young children and elderly members.
Understanding that our group had specific needs, I proactively contacted the hotel in advance via email to politely request the possibility of an early check-in.
The hotel’s response was both disappointing and unreasonable. They stated that an early check-in was not possible and suggested that if we wanted rooms available upon our arrival, we should book and pay for an additional night for the previous day. This response felt exploitative, implying that rooms were available but only for an additional charge, rather than as a gesture of goodwill or customer care.
Accepting this, we adjusted our plans and arrived at the hotel after 3:00 PM, the official check-in time. To our great frustration, none of our five rooms were ready. The first room was only made available at 3:30 PM, and the last room was not provided until 4:30 PM—a full 90 minutes after the guaranteed check-in time. This caused significant inconvenience, discomfort, and stress for our group, especially given the presence of young children and elderly individuals who were tired after travel.
As a loyal customer of the IHG brand who has stayed at their properties across Asia, I have always trusted their standards of hospitality. Unfortunately, this experience at the Crowne Plaza Christchurch represents the worst service I have ever encountered from IHG. The combination of an unaccommodating and profit-driven response to a reasonable request, followed by a failure to meet even the basic check-in commitment, reflects poorly on both the hotel and Trip.com as the booking agent.
ผผู้เข้าพักFantastic city location, great little studio apartment. Clean, spacious rooms, lifts were always available. Convenient cafe located in foyer. Only issue is with their lack of parking space. It was a game of musical chairs whenever we returned back to our apartment day or night. Although we paid and were allotted a car park space, inevitably it was occupied by another car. Throughout our stay I went to the front reception to request our parking space be made available as we had paid for it. Almost all staff were exceptional with communication, including friendly cleaning staff. There was only one reception person who was non communicative and showed little interest. We insured we spoke to the others who were happy to engage and answer questions when they arose, to insure we had a great stay.
CCXRepeated stay, assigned room this time is not as great as our previous stay. Cleanliness of the balcony, living room and kitchen were subpar. Took out pots and plates that were not washed properly (oily, had stains) after previous use. Housekeeping came to service the room but we still found areas of mess that were untouched.
Overall, still a relatively good stay.
ผผู้เข้าพักWhen I arrived I was told I had an upstairs unit. Unfortunately I had a lot of luggage. Changing to a lower level was not possible. But an offer was made to assist me with the luggage.
I drove towards the unit and there is no available parking close by. I drove back to the front desk and explained my problem. They told me that they could move a car to allow me to park. One of the staff followed me back and took care of finding a space and also delivering a cone so that I could hold the space when I went out to dinner. He also came back to help with the luggage. So great staff! But the lack of parking (because they let people leave their cars there when they fly) would make me reconsider staying again.
I’d booked an Economy studio and was given an Economy two bedroom. Unit was a blend of older and newer features. Bathroom was updated but shower stall looked older and not as clean. Good water pressure.
Ordered breakfast at the on-site Restaurant. The waffles with berry compote & lemon curd was a large portion but very tasty. Great coffee.
