We stayed during Ied Mubarak holiday for 4 days/3 nights in April 2025. We booked 2 connecting rooms for my family (4 persons). I chose this hotel because it has swimming pool and gym, we used to exercise daily. In fact, the gym was closed for long term maintenance. It should be declared and crossed out from the hotel facility so we noticed from beginning, not surprised on site. The rooms at a glance were ok but when we looked to the interior were lousy. The curtain, gordyn, and bed lamps, dirty and stained. My children room has no curtain, so direct sunshine and very hot during the day. The towel seemed already used for years. not soft, looks lousy and the color not pure white as normally hotel towel. Each room provided safety box but no function at all. if you see the direction on the safety box (see the photo), it supposed has red button inside the box but no button at all. The safety box used 4 battery. In my room has only 2 batteries out of 4 and already expired since March 2018. My children' room has 4 battery but also not functioned. the button numbers and keys cant be pressed so we cant keep important and valuable items inside it. The swimming pool were crowded and the water was dirty. the hotel supposed to overall cleaning to the pool due to holiday seasons but the water obviously dirty. The parking lot is low maintenance, dirty, and rubbish everwhere. the Horison Ultima was only 3 years old last December 2024 as I saw from the stickwerck at lobby. The hotel was Star Hotel and changed to Horison Ultima. The parking lot was narrow and limited. For location is ok, near Java Mall. good for morning walk. the hotel staffs were polite and fast response. the amenities for 4* hotel is good enough. the mini fridge in the room is ok as well as the Aircon. If I may advise the management, please take serious attention to the cleanliness and maintenance also room refurbishment to the lousy interior inside as top priority.

The quality, variety, and presentation go beyond what you would typically expect at this level, turning what is often a routine meal into something to look forward to each morning. Location-wise, it’s hard to fault. Perfectly positioned for exploring Solo, everything feels conveniently within reach. All things considered, the 3-star rating is genuinely surprising. By international standards, this hotel comfortably performs at a 4-star level, if not beyond in certain aspects. FIM by Zigna is a standout example of what happens when strong management, attention to detail, and genuine care for the guest experience come together.

Overall service was excellent especially Mr Aviet, duty manager. I highlighted to him that there was no view at all in my room; the mirror was stained and the tap water splashing when turned on. He immediately came to my room and gave options for a change. He swapped my room on the same floor with a nice view on the second day for the rest of my stay. This is always my first choice for me whenever I travel to solo. I love the cleanliness and fast check in process. However the parking space is very limited but they have extra space across the road right in front of the hotel.

As mentioned on my previous review the hotel tomorrow and provides a really good however aging amenities and hotel experience. The stay was good the food was amazing however I do have to say that in the four star hotel class in central samarang there are a lot of other choices so feel free to take a look at those first but do not leave novotel entirely out of your list.
