Excellent location in the middle of Copacabana.
It is a huge hotel but with great service. We got upgraded to front sea room which was awesome - amazing views.
Room is little bit dated, but you only sleep there and all day out.
Breakfast very good, constantly refilled and with fresh squeezed orange juice.
Great roof top pool though very crowded except early morning.

UM ABRAÇO!
Very friendly staff, nice hotel. I booked a suite for one night, the room was clean although it could use some refurbishing. One window didn't lock, so the noise from the street was constant. Located in a street with some stores, but not an area where you feel safe walking around. No toiletries included apart from s soap and shower gel/shampoo. Coffee machine in the bedroom with 2 coffee pods. I couldn't see a menu anywhere, assumed these were complimentary, as in most hotels where you rent a suite. I was surprised to be charged 1.5 USD per capsule on checkout, and that there was a QR code informing me of this in the room. I couldn't find it anywhere though.
All in all, great staff, but there is definitely a much better price to service/location ratio than this hotel in Rio
Great hotel with a great location - besides being on Copacabana, Ipanema is also within walking distance. The room was very clean, and you also have great French cosmetics Lóccitane for hair and body. I have no words to describe the great breakfast, which was very rich! I am very happy with my 5-day stay here and would come back again.Free chairs and umbrella on the beach.Amazing view from the bar and rooftop pool. Most delisious coffe I've had her in Rio.
I’d describe this hotel as utilitarian. No decor or warmth at all. The common areas are spacious and quite bare.Table and chairs at the restaurant are plain brown wood, The lobby is sparsely furnished with some worn , drab and very uncomfortable seats. Bathrooms are the same. Just the very bare essentials, not even a box of tissue paper ( and thin toilet paper) We travelled long hours, arrived at 22:00 looking forward to a good shower …not to be. We were up for a bad start. There was just a trickle of water not enough to bathe or properly brush teeth either. That could have been a whole area problem as we were told that water pressure can sometimes drop in some areas of the city. We changed rooms , water pressure wasn’t much better the next day either, the water flow improved just a little and remained as such the whole week. We had paid for 5 nights and ended up staying as the city was packed that week . To go looking for another hotel during the G20 summit which Rio was hosting that week of November 2024 would not be an easy task.
On the positive side, staff was pleasant and accommodating, bed was comfortable and from our perspective, the breakfast buffet was the best feature of this hotel offering abundant variety of food to meet all tastes- cereal, fruits and cheeses, cold cuts, several hot savory breakfast dishes - incl. some Brazilian regional dishes as well, a huge selection of breads, cakes, good coffee, and more. Very satisfying. Including breakfast in the booking is highly recommended.
The good fare offered at the hotel at lunch and dinner not good at all. However, there are also three of four restaurants lined up on a small stretch within 5 min walking distance of the hotel- one of them is a very good authentic European Portuguese cuisine and wine. Aprox. US$ 52 for a meal for two. On the same cluster of shops there is a well established Brazilian cuisine restaurant with a good menu where one can eat well for anything between US$ 12 to US$ 15 and a steak house similar to the Australian Outback steak house.
There are also other eateries snd convenience shops, a pharmacy on the same stretch ( 5 min walk ffrom the hotel) including a 24 hr laundromat where one can expect to wash and dry a load for about
US$ 7.
As for location, this hotel is not close to the most well known districts of Rio - places like Copacabana, Ipanema , Leblon - but Barra da Tijuca is a special area in itself and arguably has the best beach in town. The hotel is just a 10 - 15 min taxi ride to Barra Shopping- the largest and best shopping mall in the whole state of Rio de Janeiro where one can find anything, including restaurants (recommend trying Jappa all you can eat Japanese food spread for US$ 26 as in Nov 2024).
On the whole , when compared with the fashionable and pricey districts of Copacabana , Ipanema Leblon this hotel is good value for money . I’d stay there again if they fixed the shower situation b’cause this feature matters for me.

ผผู้เข้าพักHotel was a bit old compared to to other JW hotel that I have been, I expected more from what I pay, breakfast was excellent with good service. Hotel room interior was a bit old the staff arranged to a open window unit however the window view is the interior of the hotel lobby which I can see people walking by 😅
SSaúde, paz e felicidadesExcelente relação custo/benefício! Atendimento bastante acolhedor e profissional! Muito confortável, produtos de qualidade e ótima limpeza! Ótimo café da manhã também!
ผผู้เข้าพักThis property has the potential to be amazing, but it needs a few key updates. The location is fabulous, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant is great both in terms of service and food quality.
The room was spacious, and the balcony was unbeatable. If you only speak English, you can get by staying here because all of the staff speak excellent English. We encountered a problem when the showerhead broke off, but the repairman came reasonably quickly to replace it, and he was very polite and not disruptive. We ordered room service, and Dom Rio, the hotel’s restaurant, delivered it quickly. I had the filet which was cooked properly to the correct temperature (medium rare). My fiancé had the alfredo pasta which she liked a lot. The breakfast had a huge selection, and everything tasted good.
The only thing keeping this hotel from earning top marks is the general state of much of the decor in the rooms. The curtains look shabby and dirty from moisture, and the wood of the cabinets is warped also. It is very hard to maintain a room that is constantly exposed to salt water and ocean breeze, but the materials chosen have not stood up to age.
I would recommend staying here if you are interested in staying in Barra at a nice but reasonably priced hotel, but don’t expect the finest luxury. Expect a very large, fairly clean room with a comfortable bed and an amazing view.
RRichardSuperbe boutique hôtel au cœur de Copacabana et à courte distance d’Ipanema
Vues époustouflantes sur la mer
Personnel exceptionnel de gentillesse
Chambre spacieuse et service irréprochable
Ne pas hésiter
ผผู้เข้าพักVery good breakfast (best waiter: Thiago - what a great person)
Superb Location
However, I am still upset with the reception team. On one night, there was a big party outside and it was impossible to sleep during the night. Having complained about the loud noise, the reception staffer told me that he would call the police. Nothing changed and on the next day, the hotel did not communicate at all with us about this incident. When I proactively asked for a discount on our dues, the reception staff wrote me lengthy messages that it was not in their control. For me, if you really care about your guests, you ask your neighbors to lower their music volume. They wrote me long messages how they really care about their guests, but if they do not follow through with these statements, better not make them in the first place.
The hotel has seen better days and not only did a stair case step break during our way just in front of our room (not repaired until our departure), but my girlfriend also stepped into a broken mosaic in the cold outside pool with her foot.

ผผู้เข้าพักThe hotel is located in a prime area in Rio de Janeiro, very close to Ipanema Beach, within walking distance. From there, you can easily reach the main beaches and attractions. Reception, check-in and check-out are very easy. The rooms are clean, with comfortable beds, good quality shower amenities (shampoo, conditioner and soap), clean towels and sheets. There are amenities for purchase in the minibar (beer, chocolate, water and soft drinks). There was breakfast included (in my reservation) and there was good quality Brazilian style food, including cheese bread. The staff was very welcoming and polite. It is a very good hotel with a fair price.
