Rooms are spacious and the lake view is stunning. Breakfast is extremely varied and tasty, but the pastry section is to be avoided.
To move around it would have been better to have a car, but taxis are easy to order.
The slippers were the lowest quality we encountered on this trip, the other amenities were ok.
The main downside has been the cleanliness. While surfaces could definitely have used some more cleaning, the bedsheets weren't supposed to be changed unless specifically asked, according to their green police. But the changed them anyways and lost my pijama pants. Reception did what they could to locate them, but they couldn't find them after 3 days. Extremely disappointing for a hotel of that caliber. Now I have to buy new ones...
I had such a wonderful stay at this hanok-style hotel that I’m already dreaming of coming back. From the moment I arrived, everything felt calm, welcoming and thoughtfully prepared. The traditional architecture, the soft lights in the courtyard at night and the view over the tiled rooftops created a very special atmosphere that you just don’t get in a “normal” hotel.
My room was cozy, bright and spotlessly clean. I especially loved the little wooden platform by the window with the cushions – it became my favorite spot to sit with a book, drink a coffee and look out over the rooftops and mountains. Waking up to that view in the morning and seeing the same roofs softly lit at night made my stay feel almost magical.
The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. You can feel that they really care about their guests and about sharing Korean culture. The small details, like the beautiful traditional bookmark as a gift, made me feel genuinely appreciated and added a personal touch I will not forget.
Overall, this stay was one of the highlights of my trip. If you are looking for a place that combines comfort, authenticity and a peaceful atmosphere in the middle of a hanok neighborhood, I can only highly recommend this hotel. I would definitely love to stay here again.
Excellent location, very foreigner-friendly as well! The pool is small with several bugs in the water; not a big deal, but may not be everyone's cup of tea. Breakfast is not worth the price; nothing horrible, but none of the items are special or something I'd wake up at 7:30-9 in the morning to try again.
SSofia_PoeThe room is clean, it has a mini-kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. I loved the shampoo! There's a garden outside.
There's no reception, so you need to contact the owner to make arrangements. As far as I understand, there's a 15k-per-person fee if you check-in after 10 pm, but i wasn't asked for it in the end.
The location is a bit far away from the city centre: you need to walk for around a kilometre to the nearest bus stop (11, 100). There are a few convenience stores and restaurants on the way.
DDKriegEverything exceeded our expectations - very spacious, everything new, nice private pool. Very quite and peaceful place but still close enough to many attractions in and around Gyeongju.
Note: no real personal service, since you just rent a Hanbok villa. Access via digital door lock. Fresh towels provided every day. Fully equipped kitchen. We did not need anything else and even extended our stay for one more night.
