During our trip to Japan we stayed in several hotels. Only this one corresponds to the declared class (4 stars) by international, not just Japanese, standards. Excellent location in the very center of the city, qualified and hospitable staff, a large light room with an ”urban” view from the window, all electrical equipment and plumbing in the room are in excellent condition, cleanliness reigns everywhere. It is obvious that all the employees of this hotel work - and work well - and do not just give all the guests ”service bows”.
It was a nice stay. We took a Junior Suite with the private onsen included.
The room is not huge, but has everything needed and is cozy enough. There are many amenities (in the pure Japanese hotel tradition) as well as a ”Yukata bar” in which you can choose your fav yukata.
The biggest perk of the room is obviously the private onsen, which is a truly hidden gem. Very relaxing with a nice seaview.
Staff was very helpful with the clogged sink (came just a few minutes after we called).
The dinner was an impressive buffet, with a wide choice of seafood both to cook (the oysters, abalone and other shells to be grilled were wow) and raw (ikura all you can eat). Besides that, there was a steak live cooking station, shabu shabu as well as sukiyaki.
Definitely a recommended stay!
An excellent stay here at Kyukamura Ohkunoshima! The staff, hotel and island were incredible. I hired the bicycles they have about 4 times to go cruising around the island in the evening and morning. The restaurant also had a buffet for dinner and breakfast which was delicious as well.
I’d 100% stay here again! Hoping to bring my family here next year for a family holiday. Can’t wait to do that
