This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, and our choice was primarily due to its convenient location and excellent breakfast. It is very close to the airport and very quiet at night, surrounded by farms and grassland.
We love the breakfast because it is not a typical buffet. Instead, you can choose from a menu with a great variety of options, all of which taste wonderful. The restaurant's decoration is also lovely, and you will be more than satisfied with the portions. The restaurant staff are passionate, friendly, and helpful.
One point to note is that the reception area often has guests around, which is just an observation and neither positive nor negative. The receptionists always do their best and are very nice and professional. However, the room design is a bit outdated.
Room smelled of vomit and the curtains were torn informed staff they did seemed attentive but we were not offered a room change
Hotel is contracted to workmen working on the motorway also lots of couples with dogs in the room
In my opinion the cleanliness has declined in this hotel
had an excellent stay . Everything exceeded my expectations. The apartment was spotless, very well-maintained, and had a modern, comfortable feel.
The location is perfect—conveniently close to key areas, making it easy to get around Manchester. The service was outstanding, with staff being friendly, responsive, and always willing to help.
First time here but would definitely return!
Right outside the station so of train travel is your thing then it’s great, parking at the hotel is £30 for 24hours (just had my car bashed in the car park so that’s not the best start to it!)
Staff are super friendly, really enjoyed the hotel, TVs in our room definitely need an update but I didn’t use it so no issue for me
Bathroom is more than adequate and shower has plenty pressure and heat
Breakfast was good, not the worst quality and a buffet affair
Didn’t realise check in is 4pm! Luckily my room was ready so they let me in (arrived 15:30)
I’d definitely head back to Chester and definitely stay here again but I’d be on the train next time:)
We had a lovely time it was one of our celebration for our 50th wedding anniversary and the staff were great. I had knee surgery 12 weeks ago. They made sure we had a downstairs room and even found another chair to go in our room as I needed one with arms on to get up.
We had dinner at the restaurant Friday evening and the food and service was quick and excellent.
Lovely hotel with nice big clean rooms. A few issues though - you really need a car to get here as it's a bit far out from the city centre. In my room there was a room service menu and a number to dial for room service, but no phone. The food and drink was ok. During my stay there was only 1 person on the bar and service was a little slow. I ordered a soft drink and it was a bit flat, definitely not worth the £4 they charged for it. Because of staff shortages the dining room was filled with tables that needed to be cleaned. Breakfast was also a bit of a disaster. They charge £15 for it but definitely not worth it. There's a self serve hot buffet which was fine, nothing exceptional. There was no coffee available, just tea bags and hot water. Also there were no plates available at the continental station - really missing attention to detail when there were quite a few staff members present.

MMikethetravellingscouserThe Mill Hotel & Spa is in an ideal location, just 5 minutes walk from Chester train station and the centre of Chester itself. So, what is a stay in this hotel like?
I stayed in the Business Class Double room with a view of the canal. The room is a fair size, with the king size bed being very comfortable and clean. A big drawback for the room, however, is the lack of air conditioning facilities available. I stayed at the end of July, and whilst the outside wasn’t hot, the room itself was stuffy and opening the window didn’t really help too much. I can’t imagine what it would be like staying here in during a heatwave, which is becoming more common!
The room also comes with decent tea and coffee making facilities, along with a desk for working. The bathroom is a good size, but it could do with a bit of cleaning. There are two shower nozzles - the smaller standard nozzle was fine but the rainfall shower nozzle was extremely dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been used in a while - and I’d recommend not using that particular shower if you stay here. The extractor fan vent is also very dusty and obviously hasn’t been cleaned in a while!
Over to the spa facilities - they are nothing short of exceptional. This is the real draw when staying here, with the swimming pool and sauna being to an excellent standard. Use of the swimming pool and gym is free to all guests whilst staying here, so make good use of the facilities!
I opted for the inclusion of breakfast during my stay, and I’d say it was ok rather than great. The amount of food available isn’t huge, though the likes of the croissants and cooked breakfast are to a good standard.
As the hotel is in need of an update - it firmly feels like it’s stuck in the mid noughties - the hotel does excel in the standard of service provided to its customers. Whether that be from the cleaners, the reception staff or the waiting staff, everyone is smiling and friendly. It makes all the difference! Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. I hope they do update the rooms soon enough - they really do need air conditioning! And I also hope the bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned a little more. But everything else was to a good standard and for the price paid (£90 for two people with breakfast and spa facilities included), you can’t find much better than that!

ผผู้เข้าพักReally loved this hotel from the moment we got there. Clean and great vibe ! lovely venue, room and super comfy bed and pillows. Excellent facilities and swimming pool. Great bar and restaurant area. Only thing was little slow to clear the table and to remind the bar staff both nights about bringing the kids menu ice cream. Apart from that, it was fabulous, and definitely will come back 😀
ผผู้เข้าพักThe hotel is in a great location near to the city centre. Rooms are spacious and beds comfortable, and staff are helpful.
Two points: firstly, the picture of the pool is very misleading as it is very small (not as it appears). Secondly, the ambience of the bar area is spoiled by multiple television screens - which guests cannt get away from. While we were there nobody other than staff was looking at the televisions and more atmosphere would be gained by getting rid of some, if not all of them!
ผผู้เข้าพักIncredible from start to finish. Slight mix up on the booking system but sorted within minutes. Couldn't have been better looked after! Excellent value, staff that go the extra mile made our 1 night stay so enjoyable the children didn't want to go home!

ผผู้เข้าพักFirst visit to Chester and took a chance on deciding where to stay. We loved this hotel and the location is ideal at the side of the canal with a short walk to 2 nearby lovely pubs. The rooms were very nice and relaxing with the bathroom on the small side but perfectly functional. The staff are amazing and every one of them was very friendly and welcoming. We did eat in the hotel on the first night and the food was fine. Would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again next year.
ผผู้เข้าพักFriendly reception staff. Great location. Room good size and modern bathroom but not the cleanest, hair on dress cushions, hair in shower tray, lots of dust in room. Expected a bit better from here.
ผผู้เข้าพักLovely fully equipped apartment. Was surprised to see such a gem just 5 mins away from the city centre. Endless supply of coffee, hot chocolate and water from the reception, and fresh Croissant provided for breakfast.
This can be for long or short stays as it has all required kitchen equipment. The air conditioner works really well, iron, ironing board, a safe for keeping items, and multiple wall socket points.
Parking is £10 overnight and wifi with good strength.
A study/work table is also available .
Truly loved it and can't wait to stay here again
